I came across your channel a few weeks ago and have been watching ever since. I just love you both are so genuine and your free-spirited lifestyle gets my heart yearning for the open road! Thanks for taking us on your journeys!
I live in Bend and am starting my own van life journey over the cusp of 2024-2025. The algorithm had no choice but to surface this video for me. Glad you had a good time! It's kind of funny that so many people nomad on through town and I'm getting ready to nomad away from it. Cheers!
I have lived in Bend since 1990. Oh, how it has changed over the years. The outdoor life style is the draw but so much growth and the quality of life is not quite the same in many ways. I am fortunate in that I live 10 miles west of Bend in the Cascades and no growth will happen around my home. Yes vans are popular here. It seems like the van is the 1970's station wagon I see parents picking up children at school with their sprinter vans. When visiting I ask everyone to enjoy but respect those that live here. I live on a gravel road and when rigs pass my house at 40 mph and dust out my home it gets old quick.
(I had trouble with viewing this video - it kept "jamming" - but after four starts - I got to watch it - SUCCESS!) I love Oregon as well. (My parents were Oregonians, although I was a Washingtonian). It's an amazing mixture of everything from deserts in the southeast to lush green in the west. Great views. THANK YOU for sharing them!
So glad you are enjoying Bend and Oregon in general. Be sure to check out the dispersed camping near Camp Sherman at Jack Creek. There is an awesome 2 mile hike to the head of the springs there. Take care, see ya out there!
What a lovely video. I really enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing your travels. I never managed to get to Oregon - it's so beautiful. It's wonderful to see people journeying to new places while they're still young and healthy. Life goes by so darn fast. Take care of each other. You're both so special. Peace from Maine.
I've been a nomad for 35 years in the pacific northwest. And bend oregon is one place to avoid. The woods around bend are full of homeless and trash. Just a shame that people who visit don't know how to pick up after themselves. Try the northeast corner of oregon. The blue mountain's are truly a gift from God. Peace out
Ah really? That wasn’t our experience at all - we really enjoyed the woods in the area :) but definitely important for everyone to pick up after themselves!
Just discovered your channel and subscribed. We have a late 90's Roadtrek van and we're headed from Vancouver BC to the Oregon coast for a week in July. We were wondering what we should do for the second week. Looks like Bend is a great option. Our van is older, our dog is older, and we are older. But our interests seem similar. Hot springs, brew pubs, and nice places to walk the dog.
Yay, thanks so much for being here! Sounds like you have an exciting road trip ahead! 🚐 We hope you enjoy Bend & the west coast just as much as we did!
Yo! First time watching due to being recommended to me. Then, realized I saw you guys several times in San Felipe a few months ago as I was leaving Baja. Your content is put together well and yes, I am now subscribed. and BTW, nothing better than a good old IPA. @roamwithj
Happy Sunday Friends!! Just wanted to hop on here and say thank you for always supporting our little channel 💛

Just because you live in a beautiful place doesn't mean you don't also want to get out there and discover others.
@@thomasquigley7040 That's a good point!

OMG I cannot believe how horrible those hot springs have gotten! Like a cesspool with all that slim and the dirty water!! YUCK.
We didn’t find them too bad!!
