Nobody chose to be born in this cruel world. Why is suicide considered a sin by God if he himself lets people live through suffering? Those who suffer should have the choice to end their own life as they did not get to decide to be born in the first place. There is really no purpose to life since it would just lead to death anyway. Wanting to die is very rarely a decision made by someone of sound mind. Those consumed by depression won't always be. Even depression eventually goes away. Does it come back? Hell yes, especially if you're living an unhealthy life. But if you end your life... its over. You'd die and never know how loved and valued you were because your mind was clouded up until your death. I speak from experience... someone who hated themselves for over a decade until finally being able to see the truth.

There are millions who can't (I'm one of them), and for those, I do think there should be an alternative, which in this case means ending it. No judgements here. I think its madness that we allow people to suffer with terminal illnesses in hospice for months or even years to slowly die. My great gma had ALS, she was 98, ready to go - instead she suffered for months before drowing in her own fluids. It was horrible. She just wanted to be done. My gpa had a horrific form of dementia that was escalated - ruined his last year with his wife of 50 years because it mad him violent at times and then regress to a toddler at others. He stopped sleeping normally, ran out of the house at weird hours. It was horrible.
We have enough compassion to put down animals suffering, but we don't extend it to humans? Why? It's THEIR lives.
It's my party and I'll die if I want to..Who said I have to suffer in my later years..I've experienced a euthanasia of our old family pet that was suffering..He had broken his hip and was dragging his body in extreme pain crying the whole day..The vet came over to give the first injection to put him to sleep within 30 seconds then administered the second dosage to the heart ending his suffering..All of this under 1 minute..It was beautiful..Even the vet said that will be his exit plan if needed one day..We are definitely not here to suffer...

This is what happens with people without religion. Life losses meaning and suddenly no one has the will to continue. Even if I was an atheist I would argue against this as it goes against evolution.
We are here to be tested. Life is nothing but suffering with moments of joy as this is only meant to be a test, not our reward. Now you can choose to hand in your test with only half of it done, pull up a middle finger and see where it gets you, but I can guarantee you that this will not end well. I think everyone has their own reasons for wanting to live, and their own reasons for wanting to die, and we shouldn't be in the way of either. Wow, that's actually shitty journalism. Asking if it should be legal making profit from people's death?? And what happens when you have to prepare a funeral, or to pay for being incinerated or buried in a cemetery? Last time I checked that wasn't free. Plus all burocracy that goes with it. Giving people a chance to die in their own terms is a service, and as such people should pay for it, especially because it guarantees death. Many failed suicide attempts end up in brain damage or pain for life, a painless and certain solution is what you pay for if you want to go. It is actually a great idea and more important guarantees the right over one's life. Any person should have the right to stop existing whenever they see fit, this is part of being free. So don't demonize a service just because you can't face reality: some people genuinely want to stop living, and it's their freaking business.

Inert gas asphyxiation is also completely painless, you just pass out and that's it; people who have been involved in accidents where their surrounding atmosphere was replaced with nitrogen due to e.g. faulty pipes and such say that they simply lost consciousness and that the immediate next thing they could remember was waking up. Everyone should have the right to kill themselves through inert gas asphyxiation.

Why is death so stigmatized when living can be torture to some? Those who are committed to ending it all will find a way and at least this allows them a painless way to escape what the world has become.
