    Thanks the for the video! Just picked up my FL5 and was prepping using your video :-) For those that have the civic hatch manual, the break in procedure is located under "Precautions while Driving", page 421, at least in the South African version of the manual. Also ive heard that engine braking is better when breaking in a new car, if that makes sense.

      Page 401 in Australia. Bizarre that this information is hidden away like that. I had planned to run it easy for 1000k anyway and everyone should know to bed in brakes gently initially.

    You shouldn't keep steady revs, lug it, or put it under heavy load - but a run to redline won't hurt it. I don't get the people who think they can't rev it out at all. Ever buy a car that was previously test driven?

    I've been trying to get a definitive opinion on this. Ive read that new engines don't need breaking in, and that it's a legacy from old manufacturing days. I've even seen quotes from modern manufacturers stating its not needed. Volvos and others for example.
    ....I also saw you mentioned not holding revs for more than a minute, really, that seems crazy.

      I referred to the owners manual

    • @AngloHuscarl
      @AngloHuscarl Před rokem +2

      @ArmaganReviews The manual clearly stated no thrashing or hard breaking, no mention of not maintaining RPM for more than a minute, so I'm asking, where did you get this from?

    • @ArmaganDemiral
      @ArmaganDemiral  Před rokem +2

      @@AngloHuscarl I suggested varying the load instead of staying at a constant speed (in order for a proper break in). Assuming that you stay at a constant speed, it won’t allow the engine and transmission time to adjust to each other. Seems logical but I could be wrong, it’s just a additional thought I had but definitely does not need to be followed

    I just got mine and had to drive down US highways for about 500km. What would you do, ideally, in that situation to avoid holding the same revs? I typically do mostly city driving, but those 500km were all 6th gear highway.

      Awesome congrats and to answer your question you would Fluctuate your speed between 60mph and 80mph

      Change speeds a bunch and you can also row gears 4-6. It's how I did mine.
