It’s crazy when you break down Netflix’s deal with the WWE. $5 billion is $500 Million a year, and if you divide that by 52 weeks that’s nearly $10 million per an episode of RAW.

Here's how I'd book his final year:
First half: Heel Turn.
-Cena feuds exclusively with veterans/old rivals.
-Agreesively goes for World Title, possibly feuds with punk/maybe Orton for it.
-WINS 17th world title.
-Loses the title quickly at following TV, PLE, or from a cash in.
-Turns face again from being humbled.
Second half: Face Turn
-Cena feuds exclusively with younger/up and coming Talent.
-Goes for Intercontinental Title, facing either LA Knight, Bron Breaker, Gunther, and/or Chad Gable for it.
-Becomes Grand Slam champion. Uses Intercontinental title similarly to the US open for a couple of months to boost new talent.
-Loses title at following PLE.
-With the few months remaining, he puts over new talent.
-Finally, he has his last match against either Orton or Punk putting them over.
Enters WWE Hall of Fame 2026.

for the new talent it would be dope for someone Gunther or Bron Breaker to be a part of his Farwell run. For the bigger stars, I think he should go with one last rivalry with Randy, Punk or Cody
SOME TYPE OF HEEL CENA😭! HELL, I'LL TAKE SOME SORTA TWEENER VERSION😭❗️
Things I want to see:
1. Cena as IC Champion
2. Cena as Tag Team Champion with Randy
3. Cena vs Rock 3
4. Cena vs Punk.. one last time, maybe for the title at WrestleMania and Punk winning. This would also give Punk that WM main event and if he's winning, it would also mean Cena is already a 17 time Champion.
It would be a crime if Cena doesn't win the WWE title for the 17th time. WWE just cannot miss this opportunity. This would be like the disastrous decision of breaking the undertaker's streak. John Cena is the greatest WWE superstar of all time and deserves to go out with a bang.
John Cena should absolutely fight some old rivals, as well as new faces. John Cena should win the IC, or a title he hasn't won before and absolutely DOMINATE.
I think Cena should have a match against The Miz, at least in one of the first few matches. Not only is Miz a safe worker, Miz has enough credibility at this point in his career that him losing won't matter much should he be booked that.
If Kurt Angle can squeeze out one more match in him, it be also be amazing to see him and Cena tussle in the ring, even for a short match.
Another guy I'd love to see Cena fight would be Gable. Gable can play the part of the heel and sorta remind Cena that he got beat through german suplexes in that one PPV that I cant quite remember right now. Gable can try to embarrass Cena by doing the same thing, but Super Cena beats him up instead.
Another obvious match he should have is him and Orton.
Maybe Sami too as a call back to US open challenge years ago.
Would also be great to see him fight against Gunther. Wouldn't mind seeing that match as his final one where he loses. Might even be a good way to make Gunther be a sorta good guy, where he gives Cena proper respect at the end of the match. Sportsmanship and all that.
I dont think him and Cody needs to have a match though. Would kinda be pointless for two, very big babyfaces square up for no reason.
I dont think he should get involved with any Bloodline shenanigans either. In fact, no faction shenanigans at all.
Whatever happens though, Cena is definitely gonna be in the next Hall of Fame after his last match, and he absolutely deserves it and more!

Let John Cena once again issue an Open Challenge but this time, it's for career threatening match tour like what Ric Flair did in 2008 in a series of matches every week. Championship on the line (for the 17th time or for the IC championship) is optional. Imagine bangers every week tho.

Cody vs Cena could actually be a great storyline. The American Nightmare vs The Soldier. That could be 🔥🔥🔥 if done right. Keeping Roman out of this would be key. If you could keep 2 fire storylines going while it being your first year on Netflix mannn that would be crazy.
Give me one more Cena/Orton, Cena/Rollins, and one more Cena/Punk, before him and Punk team for a brief tag title reign. Then have him get that 17th title win against Gunther. It wouldn't damage Gunther's credibility, and would finally cement Cena as the GOAT.

He’s given back enough in the last 8 years. Give him a good rumble and elimination chamber that sets up a great match at WM. Let him win the IC title some point earlier in the run and lose it while putting someone else over. Then let him go after the WHW belt and win it. Then he retires and vacates the belt. Let him, if no one else, go out on top. They’ll never be able to bring him out of retirement that way. His “Goat” title will mean something and a tournament for the vacant title will push new talent. He deserves it. In 35 appearance, maybe 25 matches + rumble and chamber. He should be about 20-5. And they should induct him to the hall of fame in 2026

They should have let John Cena be the one who took the championship belt from Roman Reigns that would have been his last match an also braking the record between him and Ric Flair of beening a 17 time champion
Cena v Punk for the ic title is probably what i would want
All the props to Cena for giving it his all and working extra hard to be the Top Guy for the company for years.
That said, Cena slways failed to elevate his opponent meaningfully in any of his feuds. Yeah, post 2013, Cena lost to Bryan, Lesnar and a host of others wrestlers, but he almost always didn't give them a clean win or a final convincing Victory in the feud.
That changed once he became a part timer and he started doing his part of putting the guys over when he wrestled. But none of the "feuds" he's had after becoming a part-timer are feuds.
This is probably the last opportunity for him to elevate someone who needs it. Waller, Theory, LA Knight, guys that are good, but haven't really broken through yet.
I personally want him to feud with Owens this time. With Owens turning heel after what feels like a decade of a middling babyface run. Owens' first main roster feud was with Cena. It was also one of the first time Cena lost clean to a taleny from NXT. Owens is clearly much better than what he currently has in WWE.
Give John cena the Sean Micheal’s treatment? randy turns heal, defeats Rhodes for the championship and John cena take the ic championship from bron breaker. Becomes grand slam champion and once he loses that championship he puts it all on the line in a career vs championship match.
There are many Grand slam champions but he's the only one who can become a 17 time World Champion. So it has to happen. Also John should win his last match as Edge also won his last match.
If there's 1 thing i wanna see at mania besides cena vs Orton its cena vs punk... Or even a triple threat.
Have Orton feud with Cody and play hot potato with the title, then have Orton and Cena battle it out at Mania to see who breaks Ric Flair's record after Cena wins the rumble. Have Cody feud with the Rock, and have Reigns in the middle of the Bloodline civil war. Playing hot potato with the WWE title isn't always a bad thing - The Kurt Angle/Brock Lesnar feud in 2002-2003 is the specific example I'm looking at. Just book Cody and Orton strong, with them one upping each other with every passing match - all of which should increase in stipulation. i.e, from a normal match to a Last Man Standing match to an Iron Man match

This is just basically saying they should write Aging Cena the way they should have been doing in the first place all this time. Namely, to counter his obvious physical decline (part of which, of course, is his deliberate downsizing as he looks after middle-aged health and switches to movies) with growing old-man wile, wisdom, ruthlessness, and determination/desperation in a shift that manages to almost make up for what he's lost, so that he becomes more compelling and exciting as a character instead of much less, and when young talent does manage to beat him it actually means something.
