I think of that old chestnut of how the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. The rich get richer because they work at it and seize opportunities when they arise. A lot of them came from impoverished backgrounds and have no desire to return to that existence. The poor get poorer because they either don't try to improve their situation, just sigh and resign themselves to their fate, make bad decisions or have peers who keep dragging them down out of jealousy or the misery loves company syndrome. I knew a fellow who said, "I may be poor, but that doesn't mean I have to stay poor." He now runs a successful business and continues to move up. Poverty can be escaped from, all you have to do is decide that it will happen.
Wealth = better food = better health = less ill-health.

That social discrimination is so true here in Nigeria.. Once you start making money.. It shields you from it but also attracts fake people or people who won't be real to you because of their own gain
