    Hey Kalena, good to see you again. 😊 I'm still making a couple a week and giving them to friends and neighbours. I have made 2 more stencils, one a black swan for West Aust, and a surfer on a board, we are in Geraldton on the mid west coast, and they have just had the long board surfing championships here. At 73, I like to do something interesting.
    Love ya work... 😍

      Barry Radburn hi! It's good too hear you're continuing with these after the initial ones for your wife. I'm sure you're getting happier and happier with the outcome as each pour goes by. I love the stencils you're doing, they must look fantastic. Thanks for your feedback, I enjoy hearing from you :)

    I didn't notice if you did something to the outside of the pots BEFORE painting. They look a little shiny. Did you seal them before AND after? (I love the video and the time you spent showing the mixing process, as well as the pouring. The final product is amazing!)

      Hi,
      I don't do anything other than brush off excess dust on the outside. I seal the paint with an indoor/outdoor clear gloss. Prior to painting, I seal internally with a terracotta pot/ornament sealer.
      Thanks for your feedback, I'm glad you've enjoyed this :)

      Hi Adriana, thanks for your comment. The materials are all listed along with approximate ratio in the video. Typically I use a heavy body paint, PVA glue, Floetrol, and silicone spray.

    Good Day Kalena ♡ Hope you are well. You are really a master at making these terra cotta pots beautiful. Can I ask you two questions? What are the brand names of the paints you used here? I like the containers. Seem much better for storing. And...what are the little leg things you put on the bottom after completing? Oh, one more thing...I don't know how I missed it before but using glasses to catch the paint is genius. Are you planning to pour the filled glasses? Have a great day!

    • @kalenaflows4574
      @kalenaflows4574  Před 6 lety +1

      Preciosa Flower hi! Good to hear from you :) the paints that I use are Mont Marte Dimensions and Derivan Matisse. They come in those containers, I love them!
      On the bottom of the pots they're just little rubber feet that I get from the hardware store. If the paint surface sits on anything for too long, I've found that it can stick and partially peel.
      The glasses were a stroke of luck thinking of them! I tried a number of alternatives before coming up with the idea. I let the paint dry in there because not much pools from each pour and I can't lift the pots until they're dry so wouldn't be able to get to it. If I could! It would be interesting to see if the colours were still layered nicely enough to create something or if they were too blended.
      Thanks for watching and for your questions and compliments :) I'm glad you're still enjoying my videos. Take care :)

      Thank you for your encouragement Yolanda :) I've had some medical issues and moved house over the past year, I haven't yet set up my new art space to a point where I'm happy with it to work productively. I'm keen to get back in and get painting though!

    • @kalenaflows4574
      @kalenaflows4574  Před 3 lety +1

      I picked it up from a dollar shop, it's a glass one and has a piece of melamine board over the top of it. I learned very quickly that the paint doesn't peel off cleanly from glass so it makes the run off very difficult to use.

    • @kalenaflows4574
      @kalenaflows4574  Před 2 lety

      You can, but it's good to test. Sometimes it peels off. I've given plastic a very fine sanding to create more grip for the paint, if that makes sense?!

    • @kalenaflows4574
      @kalenaflows4574  Před 4 lety +1

      I wait for it to dry then peel it off and start making jewellery with it. Most of it is useable so not a lot goes to waste.
