What do you think of the first of ABBA’s new songs? Let us know 👇

    • @LeNaSmileyStar

I guess I'm bias, as a huge ABBA fan. I can literally say "Thank you for the music"
The first song I ever saw and heard from them was a recording of Waterloo. As a 5 yr old I was hooked.
And to all the critics, I really don't care what U think. I love this, because they'll done this, 39 yrs after their last release.
And again, they'll pioneers, with their ABBA-tars, going all digital.... let's see how many who'll follow and try to do something simular ;)?

"We stand on a summit., humble and grateful to have survived" That lyric sums it all up on how myuch they respect their fans. And yes that footage was shot in Melbourne, Australia, it was crazy here when they came out. Your reaction is pure joy, love it.

I believe a lot of that footage was shot in Australia- walking through the airport wearing the QANTAS jackets (Sydney), signing autographs at the cyclone fence (Perth airport when they were leaving Australia), the two airplanes, - looked like QANTAS and ANSETT and the crowds in the streets (Swanston Street Melbourne outside Town Hall- ABBA waived from the first floor balcony)!

ABBA had such an impact on my whole entire life, so when it came to their new releases, especially I Still Have Faith in You, I cried and cried and cried. Until now two new ABBA songs have been known, both different in their themes and leading voices And both have the ABBA trademark on their solvency in musical composition and production
We know the great spirit of perfection that Björn and Benny impress on their creations, and both new creatures live up to their great successes of the 80s.
So the biggest mystery was to know the state of the voices of Agnetha and Frida and how they could react to the inevitable passing of the decades and their possible comparisons with previous classics.
And I must also say that they both look very good
And in that "look" there is an extraordinary job of caring for Björn and Benny to "take care" of their historical singers, partners and former partners. They gave them two wonderful songs, with beautiful melodies and deep lyrics, but they were also surrounded by the iconic hooks and the appeal to emotional nostalgia
"I still have faith in You" is an unpublished song in its conception in the history of ABBA
because it is self-referential about them as a group,
and it is also testimonial, because they tell us about their experiences in all this time
Musically it is a ballad with mystical and epic
A stately and majestic piano, and Frida's soft voice conducts and recreates ABBA's story with poignant beauty,
with Agnetha joining in some verses to emphasize
The sound of the drums arrives (a nod to the mega hit "Fernando") as if preparing the change of rhythm
And with a powerful guitar comes that first unpublished chorus, because this time all ABBA sings from the bowels of its history and with the strength of its testimony of life, of healing and togetherness.
And in the second chorus, even stronger, it becomes very clear that ABBA sings with the passion and courage that Björn's excellent lyrics stand out, it is like a triumphant song of their survival and their bond.
And it ends with a solo by Frida, flawless, with the flutes at the end
Also isn't a commercial song (more than 5 minutes) it's so emotional, with a fantastic vídeo of all greatest memories of pictures, official videos of 70s songs and Australia tour
ABBA really comes back at high level
    The world needs ABBA sound

Forty years! They told us that they were going on a break, and assured us they weren't breaking up. It became hard to believe over the years, but sure enough they were just on a break. I don't think there will be anything else after Voyage (and certainly I don't think I can wait 40 years for more as I'll be approaching 100.) We need to make the most of this. Unless of course, there will be Mamma Mia 3. The three songs we've heard so far would all work in a musical, so once the album is out, I will write a screenplay woven around the whole new album and email it to Bjorn. There are lots of Abba songs which haven't been used in either of the Mamma Mia's yet, so between them and this new album, there must be enough new material available. I'm determined to get Like an Angel Passing Through my Room into it. And Move On. Maybe Nina Pretty Ballerina, People need love and He Is Your Brother. And Tiger. Know what? There's plenty of good material for Mamma Mia 3! :)

Well done. I always believed they would reform because they actually never officially broke up in 1982. My daughter, a huge ABBA fan, 100% believed they would do at least one more Album together and faced a lot of opposition when she expressed this belief. But she never waivered from it even as the band aged. When Frida and Agnetha sang "The Way Old Friends Do" some years ago and rekindled their friendship I knew it was going to happen soon, and Agnetha also expressed her openness to doing something together when she released her "A" album.

    🧡 ABBA !
WELCOME BACK ! WELCOME HOME !
The new ABBA anthem - PLATINUM. Hitting #9 on U.S. charts in just four days. The video, lyrics, and ABBA is heart-wrenchingly nostalgic, yet prove what we have been trying to convince them all these 40 years that the magic and love for them has never waned. In fact, the lyrics speak so deeply on so many levels - recognizing the end of their journey, the desire for them not to leave us, their reluctance to believe in themselves any longer, acknowledging the fans have never left them, finally giving in, hesitantly at first, that the magic is still there, and stepping into the studio to prove they are still worthy of the global stardom they have always deserved.
As a member of the original generation that helped propel ABBA to the stars, it's great that George Lucas' Light and Magic Company brought us the CGI ABBAs, but I want to see the real ABBA back on stage, in front of their adoring fans, to wow us again with their mature greatness.
Thanks for the reaction, Andy. And thank you too for being the generation behind mine, and to all future generations that will keep the ABBA magic alive. This is real music.
For the love of music, and ABBA - Peace.

Thanks for your comment. Whilst I don’t need to justify my love for ABBA to anyone. For your information:
      1) yes I downloaded both tracks as soon as they became available. I have also been streaming them non-stop since 2nd September.
      2) I also pre-ordered their album in three different formats, which will when I receive it in November, will be added to my vinyl and CD collection of every ABBA album, (with the exception of a few compilations) and a significant number of their singles on vinyl (most of which I collected between the ages of 8 and 15 - just to be able to hear the b-sides which weren’t included on albums. This is just part of my collection that also includes old VHS tapes, cassettes and books. Along with albums by Agnetha and Frida from the 80s
      3) I will also download the album on the 5th November digitally.
      4) I have tickets to two of the shows in 2022
      5) I do not need to film a video to prove all of this
      6) I know A LOT about their history as I have followed them since I was a child, even in the pre ‘Gold’ days before their popularity returned
      7) this video is not monetised by us. It’s monetised by Universal/ Polar.
I have a question for you: why feel the need to attack me? I am a lifelong Abba fan, and have been excited as any other abba fans about their return. You do not own ABBA, I do not own ABBA, there is no competition to be the biggest fan, or to have to prove who loves ABBA more. Why can’t you just rejoice in their return, be thankful for the new music, and allow other to enjoy it too? The fact that people want to react to their return doesn’t hurt anyone. Doesn’t hurt you, and also brings abba to a new generation of people.
Enjoy it, and keep it nice.
