তপন সিংহ আমার কাছে শ্রেষ্ঠতম পরিচালক। তাঁর প্রতিটি ছায়াছবির ক্ষেত্রেই একথা বলা যায়।এই ছবিটি কেন দেখিনি সেটা ভেবে খুব কষ্ট হচ্ছে। তবুও মনে সান্ত্বনা দিতে পারছি মৃত্যুর আগে আমার প্রিয় পরিচালকের আরও একটি ভালো ছবি দেখে যেতে পারছি।

The unique part of the movie is its partly coloured….but unfortunately the coloured portion of the film is getting dilapilated due to poor maintainance of the film......if the colored portion of the film is not well maintained …..half of the flavor of the film will be gone
Truly said... It is very unfortunate that most of old classic films has been destroyed due to poor infrastructure... @@ChannelBDigital, films can be easily restored nowadays with advanced digital tools like PFClean. All you need is the negative, the interpositive, internegative and release prints. From those a new 6K, 5K or 4K scan can be done to create a new digital master.
But be careful, do not remove the film grain as it is a vital part of the film's aesthetic. Also, please do not crop the 1.33:1 aspect ratio to 16:9. These films were shot in 4:3 aspect ratio and that full frame should be retained, not cropped.

Channel B as well as this film claim few words of me, so please excuse- I may need to say for both. Thanks Channel B for uploading. And film- It becomes wonder to me, what sort of director of those time were...simply either mad or great- be it Mrinal Sen, Bikash Roy, Tapan Sinha, Satyajit Ray, Ritwik Ghatak or Tarun Mazumdar and few others... and for whom they used to make film? This is released 30-40 years earlier, for viewers of that time- it was absolutely fine. But what about now???? After those days are gone, when we got advanced digital technology, our standard of colour film has come down drastically with their cheap excessive sentimental story with absurd contrast based on fully illegal relations, rain, dance, violence, fighting and surprisingly, these rubbish films are also viewing by many people----then how we will measure standard of this film and viewers. Is it just another Bengali film, busy people will watch by forwarding/skipping often to see the end quickly??? As I'm hoping, many people will skip reading this too as it's getting large, anyway, coming to this film- good film. What I always admire for our every classic film- that is sincere effort, simplicity, making film for ideal viewers not all viewers, reality, some message and lastly overall presentation till end. And speciality, if I'm not wrong- song of Chinmoy in Bengali, Hindi and English.
Very well said sir.... The classics are uncomparable and all the artists and technicians of those period had touch of Midas which made those films pure gold which will never lose its shine...
