Happy new year Emma! I hope you have a great year. We are finally getting some freezing temperatures here in southeastern Michigan and I am looking forward to capturing some Trumpeter swan/waterfowl action on the Huron river in Ann Arbor. Its always great to see your birding videos.
Wow, now that’s birding! A real insight to the typical birding experience many of us have especially birding locally. No overnight trips, nothing crazy rare, just bare bones birding that we all do for hundreds of hours each year. I love seeing this because so many posts online show the highlights of extra ordinary birding finds or amazing scenery which are both wonderful but Emma this post captures the essence of what it means to be a birder. This post, along with your amazing editing skills and narration, was art of the highest level in my opinion. Congratulations.
Hi Emma, I love your birding enthusiasm! (It's a feeling only birders can really appreciate) Your year is off to a great start! My 2024 FOY was an adorable flock of Bushtit. The birdwatching part of my brain, never turns off - I'm always listening and scanning! I've subscribed to watching more Loved watching this, well done! Happy Birding Adventures! -Jody
Good adventure, Emma. Hoping this cold weather up north will drive some Rough-legs and Short-eared Owls down to east Tennessee. We had 32 Limpkins on a single Christmas count this year. How crazy is that? Good birding!
I am happy to see you are back making content for 2024! I have always enjoyed your videos and adventures. Looks like you picked up some great birds to start the year. I closed out 2023 strong with 2 state lifers on the last day of the year. I was able to add Iceland Gull and Western Grebe to my Ohio list. I am not doing a January 100, just focusing on rarities and adding to my state list. I live in Columbus, Ohio so most my birding is done in Ohio. So far in 2024 I added Western Tanager and Golden Eagle. Two beautiful birds I have wanted to see for a long time. I wish you all the best in birding and in school. Looking forward to new adventures of yours to watch.
Missed you since the northern owl extravaganza! I do hope you find time to get some more videos ouit,though I know you are probably busy. Even the common things you film are interesting to me. Birding where I live,depite good habitat, has been really slow. 48 species for the year 11 days in.

Did you try for the Red-flanked Bluetail in your state.?
I got it twice in December! The first time I got really really brief views, but I got some better looks on the second time.
