  • Please enjoy the process of making Fermented Sakura Wine at home.
    Cherry Blossom - 300g
    Rice - 5 Cups
    Water with yeast powder - 250ml

    --Kindly be Reminded--
    In Japan, according to Shuzeihou (Japanese Liquor Tax Act), without obtaining an official License from the Director of Tax Office, producing alcoholic beverages containing greater than 1% alcohol is prohibited. So, if you are IN JAPAN, please do not make fermented wine, yeast starter, or fermenting mash. There are only few exceptions are protected/allowed to homemade Japanese Plum Wine, Sakura Wine in Japan. I will share how to make it in another video.
    My mom and I make fermented wine ONLY when we are out of JAPAN.

    Thank you so much for this recipe! Next spring I will definitely try it. Did you use a special yeast culture? Or can I use the regular yeast that is available in every grocery store?

      Yes, it's a special yeast for RICE WINE FERMENTATION, you can buy in Chinese Grocery Store or other Asian Grocery Store.

      I used about 300g flowers and 5 cup of rice. The amount of rice and flowers can be flexible, please dont worry.

      Cherry Blossom is easy-to-grow tree. From Okinawa (a subtropical oceanic climate) to Hokkaido (January: 11 F (-12 C) / 24 F (-4 C)), everywhere is full of Cherry Blossom (but in different month).

      这个主要是根据您个人的口味。如果喜欢酒味淡一点的话,3天就够了,这时会偏香,偏甜。如果喜欢酒香味浓一些的,就放置久一些,我这次发酵了一个月。真的是根据个人喜好,这个米酒,隔着柜子,您都能闻到香味,不同时期您可以取出来一点试试味道,看看您自己最喜欢什么口味的。
