I like the free/cheap tricks you show. Will try this, thank you!
Hey everyone! Thanks for watching
This was very helpful, thank you!
❤️
Need to do my Husky soon. Just did my Yamaha.
and keep an eye on those nipples, if the tire is off. sometimes you can get 1 poking up past the nut, either from someone changing a spoke because it had the right bend, or it's all they had. or it was way out of true and or someone didn't know how to start, it happens. i didn't know about the 3 spoke method. i'll try it out right now.
Good point!!
Ive always heard "only go a 1/4 turn at a time" but you take a few turns on some.. is it not that crucial? I have to replace 1 broken (missing?) spoke.. I'm assuming I get that one pretty tight (ping test) then go around and hit them all?
It’s all about feel really. If you are new to it then a 1/4 turn at a time is good.
Everyone uses a zip tie 😂
Is he tightening those spokes by turning them counterclockwise?? Most things tighten clockwise! Are spokes different?
No. They tighten like anything else.
@@highlandcycles As soon as I needed to know which way to turn to tighten them I was recommended this video. straight to the comment section & see this comment.. God is great!!
thanks for sharing your knowledge!
You bet! Thanks for watching
Where is the link at?
Seems like a weird question but... can this not be done with the tire and tube on? Or could that cause a problem with the rim tape?
You can definitely do it with the tire on but it’s harder to see the bends in the rim.
@@highlandcycles good point and thanks
@@bionicambassador I used car jack stands to put up the rim with a large screw driver as the axel. Wasn't professional but got the job done. Wish I had a torque spoke wrench. I'm sure I over tightened the spokes. Got a good ping on each of the spokes though.
Mine has a buckle but spokes are tight do I need to loosen them all and start again or just just loosen where the buckle is cheers
@@djCarterboi25 rims buckled? With spoke tightening you are trying to work on two axis. Left and right to remove wobble and up and down for bounce.
When I did mine I decided to loosen all the spokes. Then removed the spoke cap one at a time, putting anti seize on the threads and putting the cap back on. Took a while but I feel it was worth it.
Maybe I could have done some sort of loosen only 6 spokes and then straighten it up but the instructions online all seem to be with a rim with all spokes loose to start.
Good luck with the buckle.
