I've done an edit on CZcams to cut out completely the 4 minutes of audio that is doubled up. This must have been a corrupted file. It'll take a few hours for CZcams to process it.
As a Fiat apprentice back in the late 70s early 80s I was taught to put my foot on the clutch before starting a car. When I questioned this I was told “you never know when a customer parks a car in gear or not, and by depressing the clutch it won’t jump forward or backward and hit something.” I still do it to this day.
I’ve had other cars that you have to do that but I’m going to try and program it out if I can.

Think I would do the cam belt should have had 2 at that mileage, audio was doubled from about 22mins, keep up the good work.

Easy to disable the silly stop start!
Just press the button below the heater controls and the s/s icon will illuminate on the speedo surround this function will preserve your starter motor and battery etc from unnecessary wear and tear with the flick of a switch! 👍😊
I always disable stop start! I even tell buyers to do so.
I think that is expensive for a car with that mileage and the fact it is a cat s but depends where you live. Does need a bit of love 500 treatment 👍👍
Fella asking 8k for a 10 yr old Golf with more miles than that on another CZcams channel. I said dream on round where I live it would never sell, he said that's the going rate 🤷
You can ask any price you like for a car but at the end of the day it is only worth what it sells for.
All modern manual cars have a clutch pedal safety switch to stop starting in gear and clutch out. Sound goes crazy towards end with two sound tracks over each other
2021 Abarth 595 doesn't. Turn the key and it fires up.

That is weird the clutch situation as on mine i just turn the key to start her up , anyway you did well getting it so cheap as mine cost £3 grand and had the dreaded gearbox bearing fault so £800 that cost to sort out and put new clutch in at same time , im gonna sell mine as although she drives well ive lost faith in the car hoping to get £2 grand back as mileage is only 84k
Saw the listing but as you discovered high miles and no door handles doesn’t necessarily keep the price low anymore. If flexible on location you never know what you might win.
Should do ok with that Paul. Feel sorry for kids these days, priced out with insurance, no cheap runabouts anymore.
I had a Ford ka (Fiat 500 in disguise)and in the manual is said press clutch to start but I did not have to, so I don’t know.
Most modern cars require clutch pedal to be pressed to start, so possibly the cars which don't have a duff clutch pedal switch 🤔
If you remove the electric fan then it gives you enough room to fit the heatshield, the fan has to be manouvered back in place but its easily doable. The heatshield bolts were all 10mm head bolt fixings about 15-20mm long. Wouldn't be surprised if crash bar has been hit which seems to get a cat S for the tiniest dings nowadays.
The start/stop system senses clutch pedal position so maybe it depends whether s/s is turned on or off determines if car starts with clutch up or not. Be interesting to see state of underside as I'm guessing rear axle etc will be pretty well corroded at that mileage. Cheap cars sell easier but be prepared for more nit picking and hassle from buyers of cheapies because they spend a couple of grand and expect a new car 😄
Definitely not due to start stop being on or off. Bit of a mystery. Have crawled underneath yet but from what I have seen so far it’s more dirt.
Is it cat S because the rear quarter has a gouge on the edge and the sils have rust because they aren’t removable panels? Love the name 😂
I wouldn’t have thought so but who knows with these crazy companies.

Mine is a 2012 pop, don’t need to touch the clutch to start it, just turn the key
As have all but 3 that I’ve done. Strange.
@@Love500 Did the stop/start work on all cars that didn't need clutch depressed to start? If not maybe it was permanently disabled in diagnostics as someone else mentioned.
@@SalvageMasterEssex yes, definitely nothing to do with that although probably related to a sensor of some sort.
You can turn off the clutch pedal function in the diagnostic

Copart do get it wrong, I recently bought an Astra that was listed as a CAT N at auction and we HPI'd it when we got it and was actually a CAT S. Don't trust anything in the auction listing.
They only use the information the insurance give as I found out when I bought the Abarth that wasn’t an Abarth.
Can’t you hold the unlock button on the key, windows drop and then open the car using the interior door handle? Rather than going through the boot?? 😅

I have a black pop 16 plate facelift same damage 55k, cat s repaired it and I carnt sell it lovley car the only thing is its a cat s that's putting people off and it's 2995 on autotrader not 1 person has come to view it in 2 months
I have zero problems selling Cat S cars. Lots of people say they have problems, but I've never had one. I seem to have an endless supply of customers will to save a lot of money.
I agree its a no brainer ,I really enjoy turning them round i learned so much from your channel, people can see how much effort you put in to them keep up the good work.
@@SummerFencing I'm having same problem with my immaculate 2019 lounge with 28k and full main dealer history which is Cat S. Had it on ebay for about 5 months but not one call. Price £5950 which is a bargain considering it only had damage to rear wing which was replaced with new panel. I think people are reluctant to spend money with the present financial climate and uncertainty and it isn't just salvage cars that are difficult to sell at present. I enjoy the repairing but not the selling process 😄
