    I have tried to get into zbrush several times but always ended up too frustrated to keep going. I saw your tutorial, decided to give it another shot, and for the first time I was able to work with the program to get the results that I wanted. Thank you so much!! I never thought I would be able to do it until today, and now I'm finally comfortable moving around the UI (granted there is still a long way to go), and shaping the clay the way I want.

      I came from blender and hated the zbrush navigation and general setup, it is cack. I only managed to comfortably use it once I customised everything. Now it's great

    Thanks for the tutorial!! With any tutorial, you almost have to pause, especially if you don't understand. It has nothing to do with your pace, your explanations are great. It has to do more with the skill level of the person who said he was disappointed.

    Thank you so much for making this tutorial, Follygon! It is evident that you are quite talented. I am retired and just a hobbyist trying to learn Zbrush, but I am learning so much from you already! Six months ago, I didn't understand Zbrush well enough to follow along well, but I am slowly getting better with it. I really appreciate all that you post to help those of us who are interested in learning the software. You have a really pleasing manner by which to teach and your patience with frustrated Zbrush users and even negative commenters is highly admirable. Please keep making these tutorials! I will definitely continue to look for them and I will check out Gumroad as well!

    Hi there, I have a question that bothers me sometimes and maybe you can help me. I am almost new to the sculpting and few days ago I wanted to sculpt real human. I have a friend who is a good artist for advice, but he always giving me advice, if I want to learn to sculp real human, i should start first with stylized characters where there are simple shapes. Somehow I am confused here, because I always thought that, if I want to sculpt stylized characters first I need to sculpt real human, so i can learn, the shape of the muscles and stuff. So is it smart for me to start right away with stylized characters so I can learn the proportions more?

    Hi follygon small question for you. At 58:04 I see you are creasing the eyelids with no problem. But whenever I hit the dynamic subdivision key nothing is happening. I’ve selected the zmodeler brush then held space bar and selected “crease” then “edgeloop complete” and tried selecting the edges of the eyelid and press dynamic subdivision but nothing happens. I’ve followed your tutorial exactly the way you are doing it but I’m not getting the same results. Please help if you may 😢

    • @Follygon
      @Follygon  Před 5 lety +3

      I think I have a tut on custom IMM brushes. If not, make a mesh and click your brushes. Then click create new IMM. And then you can create something new or append it to a custom IMM that you already have selected. It’s fairly strait forward but there are a lot of little nuances that you can change such as subdivs, etc. hope that helps. :)

    I mean... Jeah... Cool tutorial man. One thing I personally don't like (bear in mind I'm using the zBrush Test version just to get a different feeling from blender or at least a point to reference it's sculpting on) is sometimes you seem to do pretty advanced shortcuts (there is apparently a mode that displays key presses in ZBrush, which isn't used here for whatever reason, at least if that's the case)
    I mean... I know my way around new tools pretty quickly... I didn't quick shortcut the Pinch brush but I immediately thought it must be "B + P + I" and yes, that was the case. However at around 57:00 ---
    WHAT F**KING SORCERY IS THIS???? :D
