  • Yo Dome bros and Dome gals I have video you might check out. I feature some commentary in some of my decision making. Not the best at this commentary stuff but here you go anyways, I'll keep trying to give it a shot. Enjoy the artillery demolitions! #domekeeper #artillery

    my answer to your question.
    I enjoy watching people explore different things in a game. I like to watch how a person tries to understand what idea is embedded in this thing, and in this thing, in this technology, what goes well with this, and with what. When a person does the same thing every time, he gets the same result every time. And he may think that he knows the best and most effective way, but there may be something better nearby. For example, I noticed in this video that you found a way to blow up all your spheres. This is what creates pleasure for me - watching a person move somewhere and not stagnate in one place.
    And you were interested in questions. Here's my question - do you try other mods behind the scenes? We only see the final result of many of your attempts, but sometimes you want to be distracted, don’t you? The game has different modes, which ones have you tried, which ones have become a challenge for you, and which ones have been fun?
    (translated by Google translator, if you notice some strange sentences, then the translator is to blame. I hope you can understand what I'm talking about)

      Wow, very nice comment! I share many of your thoughts. In a game like this, it can be easy to find a good strategy and stagnate. But what I have enjoyed in this game is finding other strategies, and maybe they don't seem as effective as others. But I like to think about it and try to develop it to see how good it can be. I remember switching to the sword and eventually going to the shield gadget. It felt good to develop the battle technique and realize it can compete with laser dome. Eventually it was realized it can battle better in later stages than laser dome.
      As far as other modes, I have only been playing prestige mode for quite a while. I started off in relic hunt. Prestige seemed intimidating at first but then I watched a couple videos by trubba who once played and posted high on the boards. Since then I've been able to post more than a few wr runs in multiple seasons. I like all the prestige modes, probably mostly endless. No mode in particular has been too hard to learn. It just takes practice really. And some thought goes along with it. I appreciate your thoughts, thanks for asking.

    One thing I do wanna comment on is it does feel like you're making it a bit tougher for yourself by choosing both single-target dps options for the mortar. The dual machine guns and the monster buster. The homing rocket machine gun can help a lot with dealing with flyers as you're swapping the mortar to target the other side of the dome and helps a lot in general with divers. And the multi shell is really good with dealing with those oppressive swarms on the ground you keep having, along with being able to help with obnoxious aerial units as well as you spam out shots.
    Usually find it more versatile to kinda go half and half with group and single target dps. Going rockets + monster buster or dual guns + multi shell so you have an even amount of both group and raw dps to be able to handle flyers and swarms better, but still be able to tackle those big enemies.
    But overall I agree with your point about artillery being weaker. Though I don't think it'll ever be able to compete with the sword dome since the sword had a lot of defensive abilities built into it's kit which helps it survive very long, where as the artillery is full offense.

      Another good thing I noticed in deep runs with the explosion radius upgrade is that it can hit low-flying enemies if you get some shells on the giga-tall boys that pop up, saving a ton of chip damage (and time!)

      It needs to be said that the artillery meta is still developing and there still isn't one setup found that is really the best. You bring out good points though. I first started of using homing rockets and then switched to dual machine guns. For this setup I remember wanting monster buster with the stun laser. Goal is to have stun laser destroy ticks in an instant so as to not worry as much about the ground hordes. So that negated some of the need for the splash tech route. It's been fun with the monster buster. I think my battle priority still needs refining tbh. Just takes quite a bit of practice to get down. I think a good thing to help my game(and anyones really) would be to go to the dome wiki website and brush up one how much health each monster has to find out the most efficient way of dealing with the air enemies because I feel like they can be too distracting

    I love the artillery dome because it feels powerful and it's satisfying to one shot a smaller monster with monster buster. I like using the repellant with the debilitate tree along with the artillery too, it helps quite a lot with divers.

    • @slipperydome
      @slipperydome  Před 8 měsíci +1

      I'd like to try this. Sounds like a good way in dealing with divers

    • @christianweeks9764
      @christianweeks9764 Před 8 měsíci +1

      The main problem with the debilitate tree is that it is only one use per wave. So while it lasts a long time and is extremely powerful, as waves get bigger and longer, it really falls off and has less utility than shield reflection, which can be spread out across a longer wave

    • @slipperydome
      @slipperydome  Před 8 měsíci +1

      @@christianweeks9764 The debilitate tree has two tech routes: Paralysis and stagnation. I believe you are referring to stagnation. Paralysis can get up to 3 uses. Stagnation has one use. I haven't tried either of these though

    Hey hey, I know about the ui mod that gives the info you've got on. But would like to say it could be a good idea to link stuff like that in the description in case some player who watches and doesn't know bout mods can learn what it is for themselves

    You quit the shield because you end up saving more iron, without buying more orb damage upgrades, with the tree? Nice video

    • @slipperydome
      @slipperydome  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Yeah the idea was that I wouldn't need as much orb damage because of the orchard tree. I didn't quit the sword dome with shield, I am just trying new things🙂

    I asked on your last video but will ask again here (apologies in advance) to the right of the fruit gage there is some information, I am curious as to the lower white info, something about extra iron?

    • @zimny11
      @zimny11 Před 8 měsíci +1

      Thank is from mod called runlogger (by user hello_wolrd). It is a mod accepted by game dev for Prestige. This mods saves info from your previous runs and shows you information about: multiplier, base and score you had at the end of each wave from your best recorded run. The lower numbers shows additional time you got per cycle from mining. It is super useful mode for people trying to improve their scores, especially serious top players who do not want to waste time on bad runs and with this tool they can easily judge if the run is going well or not (and restart is needed).

    • @zimny11
      @zimny11 Před 8 měsíci

      @@kerbe3 So blue numbers are: your prestige multiplier, your prestige base and score at the end of the wave, from your best recorded run by the mod. The white text is: additional time you got from mining iron and then maximum time you can get from mining whole iron on the map. Additional time is expressed in seconds.
