  • In this video, Joshua Griffin goes through a solution for one of the most common problems. We see in the HVAC industry when thermostats are reading incorrectly on the display. Josh goes through a simple fix that homeowners might be able to do themselves by simply sealing the whole behind the thermostat where the wires poke through. Sealing this hole with even a strip of tape can make a world a difference in the performance of the thermostat taking the temperature of the air.

So true...some homes have rather large holes for the wires and the thermostat is affected in a big way. Cotton balls would work really well !

Do you know of ANY solutions for adding a wireless temperature remote to Daikin One Touch or Daikin One+ tstats?

I've used a paper towel a few times. I've seen it a lot in commercial buildings

Thank you! I popped the cover and found a hole and dust bunnies. 😂 A can of compressed air and black electrical tape took care of it.

Thanks. I'm going to try this and see how it works. It seems pretty logical though, cuz I do have a big ass hole, lol 😂

Hey Joshua, we moved our Daikin Touch Tstat into our bedroom because our gas log was affecting the heat in the winter time. Worked well in the winter but now with AC on for first time, I noticed that the reading on the Touch will drop 4-5 degrees F if I turn on the ceiling fan in the master bedroom! Obviously the fan is not cooling the room but I guess is cooling the Tstat more than with no air movement since the display and other electronics in the device produce heat. As an aside, I also notice the temp goes up if I make Tstat adjustments and goes down a degree or so if I use the screen saver option. Any suggestions on how to mitigate this effect??

They should be coming out with an indoor temp sensor soon.
