540 is ok for this gearbox and allows you more torque options depending on how you run it. I went with the 21t motor since the crawler is so light & gives it a little more wheel speed for trailing. I've been running the 540 motor now for months with no issue.

What size are the shocks?

wots the top speed.is it really 8kph/5mph like advertised?

a 540 should be too much for this gearbox i believe. 390 are pretty powerful and use less energy giving more run time
