    Atlanta needs to be buffed. Flint all but completely obsoleted Atlanta. You can make a case for radar and the extra gun. Big deal! Flint comes with long duration smoke and long range torpedoes. Let's not forget the whole Jerzy Swirski thing either.

      Agree. I think in the meta, Atlanta really struggles. I am aggressive in cruisers and the Atlanta is very poor for that. Couple that with cruisers in its class completely outclassing it in guns and armor and you have a very power crept ship.

    GG Spartan! If there was a new ship at T7 under a different flag with the similar stats as Weimar, I wonder how many people who sold theirs would buy it? Yes, the Weimar is similar to Mainz, but for me it has a different feel and is still great fun to play. Considering you got 12,500 dubs for the Weimar if you sold it, and new T7 's like Plymouth cost 17,500 dubs, keeping the Weimar seems a decent financial decision too.

    Dpm cruisers, in general, are overpowered, especially the higher in tiers you go. I should know, I play the crap out of three of them. It's rediculious the damage you get from HE spamming superstructure and fire damage.
    Just last night my Montana was shredded to death from full health in just over a minute by a mino and a fire spammer. One of them overran an island and I gave him a full broadside for 6 overpens the other was broadside running for another island and 30 seconds later I did the same to him for like 8 overpens.
    Sure glad to see the "rock, paper, scissor" balance of the game working as intended.
    Battleships are definitely the weakess/highest skill cap ship type in the game. Playing cruisers, I've found, feels almost like easy mode in comparison. The more experience I get playing cruisers and destroyers the more I'convinced of that.

    • @Skiiiiiifreeeeeee
      @Skiiiiiifreeeeeee Před rokem

      Personally looking at my stats I wouldn't say dpm cruisers are op. Damage doesn't equal wins. Op ships in my port are ships that are good at getting down and dirty contesting caps and taking out enemy dds early in game. Fletcher, lightnings. On the cruiser side, my highest wr ships at high tiers are mainz, prince Eugene, Wichita, talin, riga. Ships I don't play for dpm but more for very aggressive early game positioning and preventing dds from running amok. Only dpm cruiser I'm over 70% for wr is suzuya which for whatever reason just works for me. Compare that to 85% in riga as my highest tier 7 wr ship. 57k average damage in riga vs 110k in suzuya yet i win more games in riga. In Bbs I don't usually have a problem getting melted by dpm cruisers unless the game is going horrible and I have to try desperation moves to try and salvage a win, which usually involves overextending and a quick return to Port. Otherwise establishing kiting positions or getting cozy into islands to prevent getting shot mitigates the spam

    • @177SCmaro
      @177SCmaro Před rokem

      @@Skiiiiiifreeeeeee I didn't say damage equals wins, I just said it's ridiculous how much damage I'm getting from spamming HE and superstructures (literally just had a 99k high cal game last night in humble little Omaha ffs). And it's not just that, I'm also forcing bbs to burn damage cons, etc. from the crazy fires I'm starting everywhere, forcing them to fall back and cower in the back of the map to get out of my range. Damage, itself, doesn't win matches but everything else that goes with it kinda snowballs outside of just damage.
      By "overpowered" I basically mean their potential is unbalanced, either they do to much damage, start too many fires, ect, there is insufficient counters to this, or some combination of both. (This is the same basic criticism I have over destroyers, in general, being overly important, having too much influence on the outcome of the match, and the complete lack of counterplay battleships have when faced with them resulting in essentially the only hard-counter situation in the game).
      Win rate in standard is also not a very good indicator of a ship's balance or even necessarily performance since you are only 1/9 of the equation.
      The problem I have with battleships as a supposed counter to cruiers is, as I expressed, excessive overpens/low overpen damage combined with absurd dpm that can melt a full health bb before he has a chance to get more than 2 shots off is pretty messed up. I'm not suggesting everytime a bb looks at a cruiser it should be a dev strike but something between that extreme and the current one with 90% overpens would go a long ways towards reigning dpm cruisers back in.
      Until that changes I guess I'll continue rampaging along in making life miserable for bb mains...as it seems every other ship type in the game is built to do.

      @@177SCmaro I hear you. I do disagree that WR is not a good measure of a ship, or at the very least your skill/ability/playstyle's intersection with that ship. If you're winning a huge % of battles as 1/9th of the equation on your team solo, either the ship is very good, you're very good or both, and if you have a statistically significant amount of battles over time, that WR tells you something, and the difference in WR across different ships and different classes tells you something. I personally think the classes are relatively well balanced. I think BB's should probably be able to do more damage to DD's, especially inside 10 km when HE is loaded, but think cruisers are relatively well balanced overall. At lower tiers I actually think BB's are overtuned, as at tier 5 and down they basically 1 shot every cruiser they see, but i guess that is good compensation for how hard life is at upper tiers. All I know is for me and my playstyle, WR is not meaningfully different at tier 6 and above among cruisers and BB's. Amongst destroyers, I think torpedo boats are not very good at winning games, and fletchers, sumners, lightnings are god tier. Again, that's me and my playstyle/abilities, so maybe not applicable to everyone.

    • @177SCmaro
      @177SCmaro Před rokem

      @@Skiiiiiifreeeeeee I agree and disagree with some of that.
      "If you're winning a huge % of battles as 1/9th of the equation on your team solo, either the ship is very good, you're very good or both..."
      Or you happen to be matched with relatively good teammates or at least not complete bricks. There is no control group to compare to in standard.
      A much better indication of individual player skill is ranked, esp 1v1, where the individual player has much more, or all, the influence on the outcome of the match.
      For example, my solo WR in standard is 55%, in ranked is 70%. That's a pretty big difference.
      WR in standard tells you that with 1/9th the influence on the match you generally skew it towards a win if you're an above average player and towards a loss if your a below average player. That's about it. More or less same for the ship you're playing (which is one reason why WG isn't good at balance, that's about all they look at too). If I had to put it into a sports analogy a solo player in standard is like a single member of a defensive line in American football. How successful you are at preventing sacks depends mostly on what those other guys are doing as a whole, not you as an individual, thus you are largely at the mercy of matchmaking.
      I don't think the ship types are well balanced (Wargaming, in general, has a poor reputation for game balance across all their games). If it seems that way to you it's probably because you gravitate towards some of the less balanced ships. It's easier to think of the game as not having problems when you're crushing it.
      Destroyers are clearly the most powerful and important ships overall, followed by dpm cruisers, heavy cruisers and battleships. (Carriers are a little harder to place, probably because they are so dependent on the player), so much so I would trade two battleships for killing one destroyer. I think a lot of teams would.
      At low tier (tier 3 and down), sometimes, when RNG cooperates, battleship might rise up a notch. But hardly anyone plays low tier and it's probably skewed by the fact that most of the inexperienced players are found down there i.e. if you're derping along broadside in a Phoenix, with it's small health pool, not really knowing what you're doing it's pretty easy for even a noob bb player to at least get a few shells to connect. Combine this with the fact that no one knows how to play destroyers down there and the fact dispersion is terrible at tier 3 most bbs don't punish other bb players, or get punished by dds, that hard for playing badly making bbs pretty forgiving to play low tier.
      The fundamental problem with how WG balances this game is they don't seem to play their own game, they seem to go simply by averages. If one ship averages out to "overperforming" they it it with the nerf hammer and vice versa. This leads to "yo-yo" balancing of over and underpowered ships along with strange game mechanics. This explains why dds are so overly important as so many of them simply sail out and die in the first 5 minutes of the match, bringing the average down and WG responds by throwing more concealment, more overpens, etc at them until that average comes back up, not taking into account how that affects gameplay. Similarly, so many bad light cruisers players sail out broadside to a flotilla of battleships and get nuked so they overbuff the overpen mechanic to compensate, which does nothing to encourage better gameplay and pisses off the bb players.
      Basically, instead of making the effort to train players to play better, WG manipulates game mechanics to force good players to effectively play worse.

    • @Skiiiiiifreeeeeee
      @Skiiiiiifreeeeeee Před rokem

      @@177SCmaro I agree with a lot of what you're saying regarding wg's balancing. Where I disagree is about solo random wr not mattering. I'm at 61% solo. On ranked I don't have my stats on hand right now but I remember last season was 85% and solo ranked must be upwards of 90% as i recall zero losses in 3 of the tiers. Ranked is a test of individual skill but in a very narrow sense. It hugely favors agile cruisers and the best bb or dd player on the planet dont stand a chance in solo ranked against a good agile cruiser player imo. It doesnt test team play or other skill sets. I don't gravitate to op ships. If I did I'd play the ships I have 70% plus win rates in all the time. I tend to grind new lines and grinding unupgraded ships lowers your wr substantially. But what solo standard battles wr tells you is the law of averages over large quantities of matches and differences in winrates across ships tells me where I overperform and underperform.
