2 incompletions per half is actually INSANE.
Those stats against a 49s defense is truely scary for everyone in the afc! What a dogfight the afc is gonna be come playoff time. As long as the chiefs make it I expect them to play much better at the end of the year than they are now. Their offense looks putrid but I don't expect it to look the same by game 17!

A healthy Burrow is terrifying. How many times did the pocket collapse and you thought that it was a guaranteed sack and next thing you know, Burrow finds a way to extend the play and make a play, both with his arm and legs
Truly, I have also seem him virtually destroyed over and over in games. Then I see him just dust his right shoulder off, never change his facial expression and keep coming after the other team. He is indomitable.

The AFC North is easily the best division in football. It's brutally physical, with multiple elite offenses and defenses.
It's not a coincidence that it's the only division where every team has a winning record right now.
The best thing about this 49ers v. Bengals matchup is how much of a case it builds for "Must Win" to return.

As a Niners fan, I'm more concerned about our defense. Purdy is still a relative newbie and can bounce back. I mean, we made a Super Bowl with Jimmy G throwing the ball only 8 times in a game and almost made another when he threw more picks than TDs in the playoffs. Right now our top 2 defense has fallen to 10th and can't get to the QB. Nick has even picked us in the past to get to a SB with Jimmy and Brock hasn't been as bad as Jimmy.

@@byronsmith3152 Bengals have a very bend but not break defense. They'll give yards, but they do a really good job of shutting teams down in the redzone forcing them to settle for a FG's alot. In the past 2 seasons, opponents that are 2 or more wins above .500 have been held to 16.8 PPG. That is pretty good if you ask me. Not saying they're elite, but that definitely falls under the solid to great defense category.

Same story that played out in Carolina for all those years is now playing out in the Bay; 6-7 games in McCaffrey is banged up and when he can't account for 80% of the offense the team struggles.
The larger concern for me is the defense, maybe losing DeMeco Ryans was significant after all.

I swear, Nick is way too ready to kick Purdy when he's down. I thought sample size mattered? Purdy has WAY more tape of him being excellent as opposed to him looking shaky.
I don't think I've ever heard Nick Dive in on a guy that has barely played a full seasons worth of games as hard as he has Brock Purdy. He's lost his team two games with his bad play, I don't fault him for the loss against the Browns because the Browns Defense is solid AND his kicker missed two field goals including the game winner that the Purdy led offense got them in range to kick. I'm not saying he's Peyton Manning, but outside of Mahomes, most great qbs weren't amazing in their first two years as players. Dude needs to chill and give Brock another year, I think he's still looked the best in the offense out of any qb of the last five years.

I’m a 49ers fan and I have no hope they’re winning the Super Bowl this year. They’re not gonna win 4 straight playoff games by blowout, at some point they’re gonna need to go on a drive at the end of a game to score a TD, and in that situation last game Brock looked way, way, way in over his head. He wasn’t just throwing picks, he was throwing the kind of picks that make a player look like they don’t belong in the league.
He was concussed during the end of that game. I think if they're in that situation again he'll be much better.

He is a hater though. He never once acknowledged when Purdy was doing great and just waitied until he failed. Even though he lead the team on a potential game winning drive vs Cleveland and was not the cause for both Cousins and Burrow having stupid games.

Nothing emotional, Nick has been wrong about a well doing players in the past, claiming they aren't worth the hype, so it's hard to believe him at this either. His Nikola Jokic takes were ridiculously bad. So I want to see the whole season, before patting his back on Purdy take either.

He's objectively better than Garoppolo. The hypocrisy of killing him over a 3 game sample (where he was still good for about half of the quarters played and was concussed for a large part of one game) while complaining that people overrated him based on a sample size over 5x as large is unbelievable. Show me a QB who has never had a bad game or even a stretch of bad games. You cant do it because it happens to everyone. Purdy will bounce back.

Ok so what I see is the need for a bruiser running back. McCaffrey looks more suited to a Brian Westbrook role. Dont grind him up the middle for so many carries. Use half his snaps as a pass catcher like Andy Reid did with Westbrook. Then get yourself a guy who can pound the ball for decent yardage along side him. Niners need something and it aint a better QB. Three games in this season and I was already suspecting on McCaffrey. Even if he isnt hurt he is taking a pounding like all backs do.

The Bengals were a play away from making the Super Bowl last season after going to the SB the season before. They are 3-1 against the Chiefs including a 2-1 record at KC! They went 12-4 last season (should have been 13-4) in the regular season. I would not be surprised despite being 4-3 that they finish 13-4, maybe even winning the AFC North. They were 4-3 last season as well.
