This product is not designed for use on an outboard motor. Its made to go on the tiller of a sailboat. But to answer your question. Yes, you push the tiller to starboard, the boat will turn to port.
A sailboat rudder functions same as a outboard motor in regard to: If you push the tiller handle to port, the bow will turn to starboard and vice versa.
@@viniciocresti5765 I sent it back to Raymarine and no issue was reported so I swapped sides to get away from the outboard motor and that fixed the problem.

One thing tells me you are a really smart guy, you have a spare for this unreliable piece of engineering! ...... and don't use it near salt water or in windy conditions.

You can setup the tiller on the port or starboard side of the boat. In the setup menu.

@@wolfie228 thank you for your answer but I don’t understand what you mean. Did you turn the autopilot from the right side to the left one?
