Epson chip resetters reset the ink level estimate stored on the chip of your cartridge. This will make the printer think that the cartridge is full again, making it an invaluable tool for those who like to refill their Epson inks.
Whilst this item is great for resetting the estimated ink level of cartridges that are low on ink, it cannot be used to remedy errors with your printer not recognising a cartridge.

I just purchased one of these. I waited a little longer than expected, but arrived exactly how I need and did what it was supposed!!! This worked for my Epson 1430 Artisan Series with Ryonet Blackmaxxx Cartridges.

I have a Epson XP-247 model and it does not recognise compatible cartridges. Will this work even though the cartridges are not genuine Epson ones.

Whick One works with the XP-320 Expression Home Printer.? Cartridge 220XL, 220...All the Chip Resetters I've seen don't include this Printer or Cartridges. Any Auto Reset Chip on Refillable Cartridges.?

I reset the cartridges in my printer. Did get ink to spill out but that's another story. I started going through a bag of empty cartridges when all of a sudden I just got the constant red light & noticed that 2 of the pins are stuck in the resetter. How do you get them to pop back? I've tried with a different cartridge to see if it would pop back & then thought maybe some dust got into these 2 pins & tried cleaning them off with a cotton swab & ribbing alcohol BUT nothing is working! Really bummed out!

I wish! I bought an EC-7000 (takes the 812) because I saw all these ink sites advertising "refillable chip cartridges coming soon". As it turns out, they are not 1 cartridge w/a permanent chip that can be reused like the others. You still need to use new chips each time, the only difference is instead of buying the regular ink Epson cartridges & putting the chip on the sub ink cartridges, they are the regular ink chips already mounted on the clip but you still need to keep buying them & a set of those are the same price if not more than changing them yourself.
This is when our tale of woe gets worse...I contacted a site that has the refurbished filled regular ink cartridges to see if I could buy just the chips (not mounted, no ink no cartridge). He said they can't get just the chips for the 812s. He also said their cartridge supplier told them it's not looking good for us to get the reusable chips or a resetter for 812s either. They are having a hard time finding a cheat to work around whatever it is that Epson changed.

@@sharonK71 well don't beat yourself up about it too much. I did lots of homework & still bought it blindly believing the ink ppl.The main reason I took a chance & bought this one is because it prints 13x19 & was only $190. I'm just looking @ it this way, if I don't get that much of a demand for stuff, I won't need as much ink for me to do things for just us as personal use. If I do start selling & it does well, I'll start squirreling $ away for something else or @ least it will give me more time to find a used or refurbished one that does have the reusable chips. In the mean time I'll just buy the refurbished/refilled cartridges on Amazon to save a couple bucks. Honestly, here on out I don't think it will get any better as far as the printers go, I think all the companies will eventually be going w/the single use chips.

Not recognised can be a problem with a firmware / software update from the printer manufacturer. manufacturers keep battling imitation inkt carts. best thing to do , is after you buy a new printer.. never update firmware and/or software. if it works and aint broken, dont update.

I have an even bigger problem now.
Since a certain Windows 10 update, probably the one demanding I uninstall Flash Player (which they say is irreversible) I cannot open up Epson Scan.
Or the proper Printer Controls it seems.
I reinstalled it from the official CD, still not working. Looked up online and downloaded some 'fixes' which didn't work. Contacted Epson them selves but they tried to help and now say ask Microsoft...
It's infuriating!
Still need to get it sorted but not sure if I can communicate with Microsoft on this with my Windows 10 version as it's a free (Beta I guess) version as the PC originally came with Windows 8...

or ... just as an idea.... one could buy a printer from a manufacturer that doesn't try to gouge you blind with ink.
I don't know how much money I wasted on ink, I paid over $35 for black T252 XL size of 3 regulars last years, printed 6 set of tax return I barely have enough ink to print this year and printer notify me I'm out of ink, I remember something fishy about printer maker put a memory chip on ink so you can only print certain times no matter you print 1 word or thousand when times limited reached printer would lie to you out of ink so I google and find the resetter from Ebay seller; inkjetofficesupply, took 3 days to arrive and it works, all my inks are full tank instead of empty.

Strange how this was supposed a British company but they had someone who could not speak English to be understood. If he was able to be understood perhaps I would not be purchasing a chip resetter from China but he really gave me no choice in the option? If the fellow cannot be understood then how can he be trusted?
