I watched this for the first time 30 years ago with my best friend and secret love in high school.. It was the night before I left for boot camp and we spent it in each others arms watching this movie. Because of that I have always had fond memories of that night and this song. I have to say, its not quite as good as I remembered, but it was sweet and innocent, like I was at that time... and since I haven't seen or talked to her in over 20 years, the lyrics hit home a bit, silly as it may be. I made a choice that night that went against the grain and I haven't regretted it since, even though I am limited to closing my eyes to remember what we had.
I think what makes this song for me is not the main vocals, although they are stunning, but the backing vocals that say "Love never ends" just adds such a nice, happy, uplifting touch to the song and makes such a huge difference in my opinion. The sounds of the 80s were so unique.

I always think of my beloved Uncle Andy whenever I hear this play. He was the kindest uncle any person could ask for and he was always there for me whenever I needed him, but he passed on too soon on 7th June 2012 from a tragic heart attack at the age of 48. I grew up in the 80s and used to think that music was so fun, magical and amazing then, I thought if music is so magical now, can't imagine how much more amazing it will be in the future .. little did I know that, then, the 80s, would be music's last hurray for a very very long droughful period of time ..
