- It's amazing what you can get for under $50 when it comes to inverters. This one has 500w of AC power and some decent DC plugs! Does it really hold up though?

Great job Jim. I really like the smaller inverters that add very little to the total load. The words showing up is a real plus in my book.
Thanks! I'm trying to give as much information as possible.
@@OffGridBasementIf you don't mind, what about your thumbs(finger)?
That's for pointing out the standby consumption and efficiency of sizes in your videos. I always thought more was better, I guess not always.
Glad you got some information from it. Thanks for the comment!
Good that you mention the cigarette lighter plug and 10 Amps. So that would be 120 Watt minus the loss, below 100 Watt for sure would be safe.
People need to understand the basic laws of electricity and that is U = I x R and P = U x I (or puxi as a good friend says). Many people think that they can power everything with a 12V battery. Just a simple calculation, most hair dryers are like 1500 Watt, now convert that without the convertor loss and you will be at 125A current at 12V which is more than a lot. In perspective if you have like 30 Watt worth of leds in your livingroom that would only be like a 2.5A draw or like 50 times less current.
Personally I would only get inverters in the power range you have there for 12V systems. At 12V and due to the current you also have to think about the losses in voltage in cables, internal resistance of the battery etc ... All not so great for higher power draws.
I once bought a 'simulated sine' wave converter and it can do more harm than you think. Some of my equipment started making strange noises and it killed 1 power meter, so please people for the little bit extra buy a pure sine wave one.
Btw, as in testing fridges, just testing a newer type of freezer here. It consumed 0.58KW over 24h. If I check it, most of the time it draws 32 Watts and every hour , 20 minutes completely nothing . I have just seen a spike of around 340 Watt for like 10 minutes, the first spike in 2 days, but my guess is that that is related to the no-frost system.
Thanks for all the great info! (puxi... that's good..) It amazes me how some people think just because a hair dryer is small, it must not use much power and a chest freezer is big, so it must use a lot of electricity. Thanks for the comment!
thanks for sharig brother ill see you in the next one
You're very welcome! Thanks for the comment.
These are good for a small led TV with playstation to a 12v lithium, a 100ah would probably last about 12ish hrs
That would be a good test to find out the amount of available runtime. Thanks for the comment!
I have been using this inverter for ages. Its not powerful but it works.
I use it for all my small items and it works perfectly every time. Thanks for the info.
@@OffGridBasement I have it fitted permanently to my motorcycle the one in the picture I have it connected to four plug sockets that are permanently plugged into the boot of the bike and always I'm 24-hours a day 7-days a week and this has been going for about 5 years now. This is the UK version of the exact inverter and honestly I've never been happier with it.. it runs all my super fast rubbish it to charge my laptop will charging my phones and tablets. Honestly it's fantastic. The fact that it's been outside and been subjected to extreme heat and extreme cold I'm very sharp humidity especially in winter when it's been foggy and horrible outside and it's still going strong it only place underneath the seat of the bike so it's amazing that the thing is still going. I've managed to get it's rating but anything over and it just had a heart attack. There is no soft spot for anything but when you think about it isn't really anything that you can run on this that would require it. It won't do large fridges it won't do drills it won't do power tools work do a kettle have a separate inverter for that. I did find your video interesting.
@@elixier33 it's amazing it's worked for so long under those conditions. Thank you for all the information.
I find the cheap ones are nice just for usb or very low usage. I have bought a few from Amazon for minor work. I have an expensive one for serious work
Thanks for the info and sharing!
Im going to buy that one. It looks like it has a lot of good features
The inverter performed much better than I thought it would. I recommend it!
Another good video. Can you also test using LED lamp (Dimmable and non-dimmable) to see if it will flicker or not? The flickering is one of the issue with bad designed inverter. I am also glad that you do efficiency test.
I will check with a LED lamp and let you know. Thanks for the comment!
Both the links are unavailable I hate when that happens lol great videos !
I've updated the secondary link. Thanks for the update!
Great, some times cheap product works better than expensive products...
You're right. I still use it with a 50ah battery. No complaints. Thanks for the comment.
Yes👍 ⚡🔌💡🔋
Thanks!
Ty sir
You're welcome
this one is out of stock.
any recommendation for another 500watt inverter, pure sine wave?
This inverter from Bestek would be a good alternative.
amzn.to/4atZv8V
Could you have meant, "sine wave?" Not a good sign.
I'm sure that is what I meant to say. Thanks!
Mite just run some fridges
Not sure. I'll try it out!
That looks like xt90
Yes. I think it's too small to be xt60
@@OffGridBasement way late to the party but it's an EC5 plug rated at 120amps they are common in RC and also used by a lot of jumpstart packs
"I'm going to review something that I cannot prove is actually what it says." Stopped the video right there.

Sup boss.
I have a bestek one that was recommended by hobotech.
Also may want to think about your intro being a bit longer. Just something to think about. I just fast forward but some viewers may just leave the video.
Thanks for the advice. I've been thinking about reworking the intro. Cutting it in half would be better. I need to look at the analytics to confirm.
hey so im looking for the cheapest 1500watt pure sine wave inverter if you know of any that are good but cheap i would love to know thanks
I've only reviewed one 1500w inverter and I can't recommend it. It crapped out on me twice.
@@OffGridBasement thanks for letting me know
