- This sweet little Angel Ornament works up in under an hour, and makes a great gift. The open, granny stitch pattern lets the tree lights shine through, making her seem to light up inside.

Thanks for sharing and by the way your nails are adorable
You're welcome, and thanks! :)
Very beautiful angel ! 🌷❤️
Really easy to understand you explain it so well thank you. It's a beautiful pattern that a beginner like me can follow xx
You are so AWESOME 💕💕💕 thank you for such a clear explanation of doing this ❤️ at the end of closing the head I left a tail and added a bell 😁. “Cause every time you hear a bell ring an Angel gets their wings” !!!! Couldn’t resist ...this is going to be part of Christmas presents THANK YOU SO MUCH AGAIN 💕💕💕💕
oh that is SUCH a neat idea! I never thought of making it a bell, I love it! :) If you post a nice picture on Ravelry I'd love to add it as a featured image on the pattern so others can see what you did.
Stitches n Scraps of course if I can figure it out ....lol🤣🤣🤣 I am working right now ...if I have a problem I will messenger you if that’s ok with you or better I’ll send you the pictures ...
@@nancymacdonald2395 Messenger is great, email works too - but I will be out of town at the CGOA conference starting tomorrow, for 1 week...so I may not reply right away. Better bet would be to post in the Scrappy Stitchers facebook group because others might be able to help you as well :)
Love the bell idea!!

Love this little angel - making various items for Random Acts of Crochet Kindness & this is a great addition - my neighbour saw me making items & loved the angels so making one of these for her (maybe several in different colours). Went to site where u hv written instructions but find they r different fm what u r teaching here - especially the very first round - u state ch6 and written "ch1, 6 sc in same ch where u joined loop) to me that is confusing. Glad I found yr video.
Hi Helen :) It looks like you've just missed the first section of the pattern (Loop) and jumped right into the 2nd section (Head). If you take another look, you'll see that the written instructions are actually the same as the video.
Thank you very much 😊
You're welcome! glad you like it :)
👌 Thank you ☺️🙏
You're welcome :)
Loved it couldn't figure out what to give my daughters teachers... This was very easy and fast thank you thank you.... I cant read a pattern so videos help so much
Yay! I hope they love them :) If you do want to learn to read a pattern, I have a suggestion. One thing I found that helps people a lot is if you can watch the video which you do understand and follow along in the written pattern which is harder. It will help you see the connection between what's written and what it's telling you to do.
Had a wonderful day crocheting along with Stitches n Scraps making this little angel.. I’m going to attach a bell with the yard marker and possibly add some pearls on the loops. Very nice instructions. Pleasant to work along with her.. Thank you for the crochet club. Let investigate the rest of Stitches N Scrapes and see what else we can crochet.. 😃
Awesome! I hope you find lots more projects that you like :)
I'm trying to figure this out, it's kinda tricky, but this angel is cute 😍 thank you for your time and creativity
Are you going to make a simple version of this angel this year 🤔
I’m glad you like it! I have no plans for making any more angels, but where are you getting stuck? Maybe I can help you?
Is there a way to expand this pattern to make her bigger to be a tree topper? I know the skirt can just go a few more rounds out, but how can I make the wings bigger and proportionate?
You probably could but it would be a complete rewrite. Bigger head, more rounds in wings, then skip more stitches to start skirt, and more rounds in skirt.
You could also try a chunkier yarn and larger hook and see if that gives you the size you're looking for.
You can hdc into the top of the chain 3 to join instead of chain 2 and slip stitch ….it leaves you in the middle of the space
Yep, I've seen that, but haven't done it myself. Do you find that it ends up bulkier in that spot than the chains would be? I feel like round after round it would create a noticeable seam.
These days I tend to start my rounds at the stitch before the ch sp instead of after, and then just slip stitch forward into the ch sp instead, even though that adds a tiny bit of bulk. There are so many ways to do it!
well.... i tried and tried and tried.... stuck at the folding of the wings... cant see if the thing is being crochet together or just 1 side... and the slst area. i looked at the pattern written and cant follow it at all. guess i will find another one to do..
I'm sorry you're having trouble with the pattern. The wings are formed basically just by skipping over them. As you do that, they fold together. Later on an edging is added, but at first they are not crocheted together. You just skip over the indicated number of stitches and keep working around. Does that help?
@@StitchesnScraps hi. i finally got it but i noticed when i folded it, did the whole thing, the round piece on top of the head was on the side of the head, not in the center. do oes that really need to be there at all?
It should be fairly close to centered. if yours is off a bit, you should be able to correct it when weaving in the ends.
It’s there to hang the angel from. If you’re not hanging it, then you don’t need it :)
Found it was hard to follow the further in to the angle you went. the faster you crocheted
Hi Becky :) Have you taken a look at the written pattern as well? This video is meant to supplement that, and you may find it helps to reference that along with the video.
Is bottom open so can put battery tlight inside
yes, the bottom is open :)
Thank you
Found this very difficult to follow.
I'm sorry to hear you had trouble with it - did you try the written pattern instead? Some people work better with one format or the other.
what size a crochet hook
please
@@cheryl4670 Hi Cheryl - here is a link to the full pattern stitchesnscraps.com/free-pattern-angel-ornament/ It uses a Size H / 5mm hook, but you can actually make this with any size yarn/hook you prefer.
