I have Rogue and to me it's a very nice, sophisticated leather Chypre frag and smells much more expensive than it is. I also love my Hanae Mori and to my nose, it doesn't smell synthetic at all, just sweet and fruity. Right before I watched this video, I ordered CACAO, so hopefully I will love it as much as you. I'll let you know 🙂

Totally with you on the Libre's , I reach for it and change my mind all the time bc I'd really just rather smell another way - so I may declutter that one - however, I will try the Tharwah Gold! I love So Sweet. It wears a little more powerfully than you’d expect. I’m always purging but my purges get turned into new finds! My Mercari earnings just support my habit!
I started this fragrance journey(addiction) about 2 years ago. The niche brands Argos(4)and Amouage(6) are my most purchased with a lot of middle eastern thrown into the mix. I am somewhat technically challenged so a friend is going to help me sell the ones I don't love or use that often. It is fun to experience a new fragrance, but I have gone too far. At 71 years of age I can never in my lifetime use all that I have purchased. Decants are a great option if you can get them, I do wish more options were available such as 15 to 25ml sizes. I ordered one you reviewed the other day from Une Nuit Nomade and love the 25ml options they offer. Gives you enough juice to truly decide if you love it enough to purchase a larger bottle. I have a decant of Navitus Imperial Ambrosia and just sprayed in on my hand and I have to say it is a powerful one for sure:))

Have you tried Al Haramain Floral Fair Extrait? I have been wanting it for a while. However, it's one of the higher priced scents and there are no reviews to be found on it.

CACAO is beautiful!! I'm not into chocolate fragrances but this one is fab. Its my night time scent for now. It's a soft chocolate sweet slightly woody scent and lasts for hours.

Greetings from New Zealand! OMG Maria I have been IN LOVE with Orientica's Velvet Gold for about a year now! It's a bit like Gentle Fluidity Gold but deeper, stronger, longer lasting and there's something sexy about it that makes me weak in the knees! Also, women love it on me because whenever I wear it out (I also wear it a lot in, I love it so much), not only do I get compliments from co-workers and strangers (people who take my food/coffee orders, pet store attendees, uber drivers, shop keepers), but girls actually write the name down and the online retailer to buy it for themselves! There's just something about it that makes me reach for it way more than any other of my nearly 100 perfumes!!!

I have issues with the YSL Libre DNA too. Something about it just doesn’t agree with my chemistry. I LOVE Velvet Gold. I don’t have it yet but have tested it. Definitely on my wish list. I’m a big fan of powder-y scents. I’ve decluttered a bit recently, and find that the ones that I reach for the most tend to have this quality to some degree.
Just recently added Mystique Bouquet and Asdaaf Andaleeb to my collection and they didn't disappoint! Lataffa Ansaam Gold is on my wish list purchase in the upcoming months! 😊

I don’t have much to declutter because I don’t get much I don’t love without careful consideration and I don’t blind buy much. That said, I do have some I don’t love or I’ve decluttered in the past. For those, I decant between 5ml to 10ml to set aside for my reference in the future if it’s something I want to revisit later on.

😵💫 Maria.. I need your help... I love musk fragrances (like 'Narciso Rodriguez for Her' or a 'Musk Therapy' type of Musk) Not so much the squeaky clean type in a "white musk" profile but the sweet, airy, fluffy kind.
Do you know of any Arabic/Middle Eastern fragrances that are this type? Maybe I'm asking about a dupe for Narciso Rodriguez for Her EDT (black bottle)or Musk Therapy.
I've never tried the Narciso cubes but everyone seems to love them... I wonder if it's because of the musk I'm describing??
When I was a teenager, there was a guy who wore Jovan Musk and it smelled DELICIOUS on him and made me want to jump his bones... I did not have a crush on him, nor was I attracted to him in any way but when he wore that cologne...I felt like a Vampire who smelled the intoxicating scent of blood for the 1st time... It was MUSK.
I have a very difficult time finding sweet, fluffy, sexy musks. Probably because I don't try a ton of really expensive fragrances... Although Initio's Musk Therapy is LOVELY, I don't think it's worth the price tag.
I'd love to buy a clone if there are any that actually have the same musky smell as MT.
I have C.A.C.A.O and I am wondering if I got a bad bottle, even though I bought it from a reputable site. It has this prominent barnyardy oud note that I just cannot tolerate, which no one else seems to experience! But the same thing happened when I got a bottle of Qasamat Rasana - I complained and returned it because I didn't get any of the fresh, citrusy notes listed and it only smelled like a barnyard! So I'm wondering if something went off with my bottle of CACAO - did you get any barnyard oudy kind of note?
I recently gave swiss arabian - shaghaf for women - to my sister. She's extremely picky when it comes to fragrances, mind you. She never likes anything. But that one, she loves for some strange reason. I personally can't stand it. It's just way too generic and very weak. I'm glad somebody likes it because I was just gonna use it as a room Spray.😂
And then, I gave one of my best friends a bottle of Ariana Grande - sweet like candy. I despise the bottle. But the scent profile is lackluster for me. I mean, it's fine. But there's absolutely no depth or richness. It's very linear. It's much too light, and it just disappeared so quickly on my skin. Like literally within an hour or two, even with me spraying myself at least 16 times. She ended up absolutely loving it. So that made me happy.
Those two fragrances were no loss to me, what so ever.

Have you tried BonBon Pop from THOO? I can’t wear that one because it’s too syrupy-sweet for me. I’m wondering if Mango Punch is the same kind of sweetness.

In my opinion no...but BonBon Pop and What About Pop are right up my alley. To me there's fennel element in Mango Punch that I'm struggling with.

Ooooof girl. Those “animal notes” in velvet gold are so strong to my nose and make me gag. I rarely have such a strong negative reaction to a perfume but this one kills me.

FYI, I rarely buy fragrances, especially $150 fragrances and I bought both of them because I couldn't decide which I loved more (I now know the original is my favorite of the 2.) I haven't tried any other flankers, yet. 😢
