  • Terratrike Gran Tourismo "Laid Back Review" the BEST Production Trike / for the Everyday Triker?
    The TerraTrike Gran Tourismo has exhilarating performance resulting in the ultimate touring machine. This laid back cycle is sporty, comfortable and gives any rider the Freedom to Ride!
    Order a Gran Tourismo by calling Laid Back Cycles 916-619-5116
    This is a very well-rounded recumbent trike, it’s quick, handles well, looks great and is very comfortable. What more do you need? With a 1,999 starting point it’s an excellent value and dominates other trikes in its same price range. Of course, it's subjective but in my experience selling trikes I think 1,999 to 2,999 is a sweet spot for many people and this one is super fun!

    That trike looks great! I really like the sturdy design. Been waiting over two months now for the build of my own trike to be complete. Darn pandemic supply chain problems! Cannot wait until I can get out there and ride again.

    Thanks for posting one of the first reviews of the GT. I’m a big guy too at 6’ and 250#, so I liked too seeing someone test ride it that’s not 5’-8” and 145#. 😂

      Yes Bill, it's nice to ride a trike that handles and performs well even with bigger riders :)

    Hi! Is the seat adjustable, as in how upright you can sit? And thank you for the review.

    How does it compare to the rambler and the traveler?

    • @LaidBackCycles
      @LaidBackCycles  Před 6 lety

      The Grab Tourismo would be more like a road bike and the Rambler and Traveler would be more like a hybrid bike. The Traveler is a folder which the others are not.

    Is this good on gravel and rough roads, please?

    • @LaidBackCycles
      @LaidBackCycles  Před 6 měsíci +1

      You'd want to run the tire pressure a bit lower to absorb the bumps. A mountain or off-road style trike may be better suited if the roads are very rough.

    are you aware of a compatible pedal assist moor for the GT?

    • @LaidBackCycles

    How does it compare to the Rambler for ride smoothness? Which one of the two absorbs the small bumps better?

    • @LaidBackCycles
      @LaidBackCycles  Před 3 lety

      A longer wheelbase may handle the bumps better. Also if you are in bumpy areas, changing your tires to Schwalbe Big Apples will help.

      15 inches. A little less than a dining table chair.

    How do I remove seat so I can transport it in my Prius ?

    • @LaidBackCycles
      @LaidBackCycles  Před 3 lety

      To gain more height clearance you can remove the rear quick release pins in the seat stays (the bars that connect the seat to the frame) and push the seat all the way back down, close to the rear wheel. If you want to fully remove the seat you will need to remove the quick release pins and you will likely need an 8mm allen wrench to remove the bolt that secures the seat to the frame. If it can fit, I recommend the first option so you don't have to do any wrenching.

    What is the back stand you have the back end up with?

    • @LaidBackCycles
      @LaidBackCycles  Před 2 lety

      Our trikes stands are actually custom built, but I've seen some out there that do the job. Since we put many different trikes up on a stand, it has to be flexible for the different frame configurations.

      I use a peice of aluminium flat stock. Bent at 90deg at one end w to holes drilled. I screw it into those 2 small braze-ons on the frame 'heel' behind seat. Super stable for working on bike w rear offground

    How does this handle touring loads?

    • @LaidBackCycles
      @LaidBackCycles  Před 6 lety

      It's great, the chromoly frame give a soft ride and the longer wheel base should make for a smooth ride even when carrying a load.
