KOZHIKODE, INDIA - In this Kerala Indian food videos series, we continued eating our way through Kozhikode, a city and area of Kerala, known for its food. Ebbin took us to a restaurant serving home-style (homely) food in the jungle. #Kozhikode #Kerala #India #IndianFood
One of the main unique things that Uncle cooks here is a rice flour pancake, fried on a clay pan, over fire - but the unique part about the fire, is that he only uses coconut shells - not coconut husks, but coconut shells. The shells give off a jet flame of heat, which really gives the fire a boost so that it ignites and hisses as he fires each of the pancakes.
In addition to these unique Kerala Indian pancakes, they also made a mix of cassava and a variety of different beans and coconut, to also be eaten as a staple. And we also had a chance to watch as they made another astoundingly delicious fish fry, and a fish curry.
After having a few cups of chai and a few rice flour pancakes, we then had our full meal - fish fry, fish curry, cassava mash, and the pancakes.
Eating on a banana leaf, in the jungle of Kerala, with great friends, and amazing hosts, made the experience even better. A jungle paradise in Kerala, India!

You can see lot of traditional Kerala food thru Ebins channel Food n Travel, I love his all episodes. Very simple introduction, most of them in Malayalam language only, I don't know how you can undetstand his words,

this is real tourism, going to villages, meeting locals and tasting the local home cooked foods.
Coconut is one the most important ingredient of kerala culture and i love the way how you describe it
Actually in today's video, the use of Coconut as an ingredient was very limited, except perhaps in the Tapioca dish.(Kappa PUZUKKU).
And the same combo of FISH and Tapioca (Kappayum Meenum), may not have Coconut at all, but just boiled KOLLI/MARACHEENI ( Kaandhari Chilli chutney of varying specifications as per choice of family). We use every Inch of the huge Coconut Palm for purpose or other,nothing is wasted!

Yes. We add coconut to almost everything. I mean the entire state is literally surrounded by coconut trees, you will never run of these ingredients.

Jibin Saju Joseph i am VEGAN brother and coconut milk is nutricious and i put soya or coconut milk as blood milk alternatives. I use coconut tree waste called narkel chobra in bengali and loofaa in english to cleanse myself during bath. Coconut oil is excellent and more beneficial than olive oil. It is fat cutter too

@@HEYMANFOODREVIEWS Hey bro..After 3-4 months it will be monsoon..if you love the rain..You gonna love it..The whole Kerala will turn into lush green..But the rains can be so huge ..But it is nice, but traveling around can be a problem..By August it will be awesome climate till February..Avoid March, April , May as it gets really hot..And you don't need a guide or a tour agent to travel around in Kerala..Most of the people here speak English and they are really friendly ..You get Uber in Cities and tale Ola for long travels or you can use public transportation..Trust me ..People are really awesome, everyone helps everyone..

Of all l enjoy the Kerala food tour is the best I've enjoyed,something l can relate to,I'm from the Pacific(Fiji lslands)we use a lot of coconut in our cooking and I'm familiar with their style of cooking the cassava the yams their spices my favourite is the fish different way of cooking it,l would suggest they deserve a prize,to top it off l can see the background is clean,their cooking utensils ,everything even the people themselves behind the scene are well dressed and clean themselves,as you do your presentation l can smell the aroma,yummy, FISH FOR BREAKFAST THAT'S FOR ME🏝🏡🏚🚓🥥🥥🌶🌶🐟🐠🐟🐠😡🥵🤢😩
