2 children lost their lives. An 8-year-old girl and a 5-year-old boy who were siblings. 15 injured.
Marshella Chidester arrested for DUI.

This woman is going to get what is coming to her, i can't stop thinking about those two children now. The mother has gone through so much and will always stay with her forever. No time will ever be enough for taking those two children away. Thanks for the coverage today ❤

I am 61 hrs old have been epileptic since age 11 have never driven a car just incase I have a fit even though I take medication to risky

She was Very intoxicated Before she left her home. Then pulling out of the driveway and smashing into another vehicle and speeding off. Im so 😡 upset. Those poor babies .
I’m glad he got all the video surveillance that he did. She won’t be able to get out of this. Those poor babies. Makes me sad to hear a mom screaming because her baby is dead! And there’s a lot of moms in there carrying kids.
Mandatory sentencing in the state of Michigan if you’re sentenced to 25 years, you serves 25 years there’s no credits or partial sentences
If she was having a seizure she would of felt it coming on and could of either stayed inside her car and not driven. She's so intoxicated. She knew exactly what she was doing. 😡🤬

Defense is clearly trying to throw in a red herring by saying the blood alcohol tubes could be contaminated. That is laughable. I’m an RN and have done thousands of blood draws no different from the phlebotomist. There is no way to mess with what is inside the tube to trigger the result. Like any other blood draw you stick tubes up to the port of the butterfly needle directly from the vein to collect blood. They are gray topped and sealed like any other tube. The color of the top just indicates it is the right tube to check for alcohol because of the preservative Sodium Fluoride - Potassium Oxalate. There is no way to be dumping rubbing alcohol or wine in it first. It is like any other blood draw but in this case part of an investigation so it just goes off in a police kit instead of a hospital lab. In order for it to be contaminated there would have to be alcohol placed inside the tubes themselves before the draw and that is ridiculous it would mix with the blood and dilute it and make it untestable and further, nobody is out to string up an old lady she was drunk and that’s that. Tubes are just a vessel to carry a blood draw. She needs to plea if she can because this defense will not fly in court at all. They will get medical people in to discount this guy’s defense in a heartbeat. His job is to try to just confuse and enter doubt but he is doing a poor job because he clearly does not understand how any blood draw works. All tubes are sealed wherever they come from. He is acting like someone can just unscrew the top and let blood just spill in it and be able to add things to it. Ludicrous. If she hired this guy private she is wasting money that she needs to pay these families for all the grief she has caused and it will never be enough.

Seizure defense doesn’t work. If you have seizures, you are not allowed to drive. I know that for a fact. Either way she was illegal.
Hi TaterBugg, PLEASE do your own medical research. No all persons who live with or suffer from seizures are NOT allowed to drive. There are several different levels of the illness that are the root causes of seizures. Thank you for your input but again, do your research. Have a great 4th of July!

Both my husband and son have epilepsy and are well controlled on medication. The 1:27:00 y have fill out forms with the dmv to drive. There is no problem. Alcohol exacerbates seizures
@@barbaraaiello6752 good to know. Definitely alcohol should never be mixed with most medications but especially seizure medication and everyone that takes it knows that.

Please watch her closer as she does have several moments of emotions. She's human, as you, and we all make mistakes at all times of our lives. She made a choice and that was her mistake that has now caught up to her. All defense attorneys direct their clients to NOT make any noticeable movements or show emotions. I couldn't do that. I am sure it takes some time to mentally prepare oneself for sitting in court and blanking out the mind as to stay separated and compartmentalize emotions. Some of us are better than others.

Despite Chidester’s speech not being slurred after the accident and the claimed issues with seizures, this will all boil down to whether or not the jurors believe the results of the blood test. When this first happened, I googled Chidester and saw she had worked for a company (I believe it was the electric company) that had the matching 401k available for its employees.…don’t know how long she worked there, and (obviously) don’t know if she participated in the 401K or for how long she participated. But…..If she did participate in a matching 401K plan and did it for a long time, then she could have quite a wad of cash to pay experts to come in and question every step of the process, as was done in the OJ Simpson case. She’ll probably also pay for experts to testify on her behalf regarding seizures & analyze her behavior before and after…..and, IMO, it will all come down to whether or not the jurors believe the results of that blood test (and the breath test).
Yes she will spent the rest of her life in jail! Prayers to the family God Bless Them all!
I have no sympathy for someone that drinks and drives. My 19 yr old nephew and his best friend was killed by a drunk driver, this is just sad😢
Viedo is horrific! Those poor kids at the birthday party 😭. Neuropathy is not the same as seizure. If she had a seizure, would she be able to engage drive again and then reverse out and speed off? I doubt it. I can't see one half of her face sagging as that happens with seizure.They need to show the whole video to prove she WAS read her Miranda rights.Not supposed to drive for 6 months following a seizure anyway. She was double the alcohol limit(?).🕵️♀️
The fact that she's aware of her medical condition should tell her no drinking at all.

As a RN, I can say you're NOT supposed to be driving with seizure disorder UNLESS you're 6 months seizure free AND on meds AND you should NEVER combine ANY type of alcohol with seizure meds! Plus she appeared to be speeding.

I have neuropathy in my left leg with nerve damage, arthritis in both of my knees, right knee is bone on bone, left knee is on its way to bone on bone, a really messed up back.....i walk funny sometimes... But!!!!... Thats no excuse for the crazy driving... She is clearly very very drunk!!!!!... That was not a seizure.... That's intoxication..!!... Her attorney is sticking to the seizure story... Not going to work... She shouldn't have been taking gabapentin and drinking, never mind driving... Depending on how much she takes, gabapentin can make you feel quite drugged up.. add alcohol to that and you have a severe problem!!.... I stopped taking it because of the way it made me feel... I highly doubt a jury will let this slide ... guilty all the way to prison... adding: I'm 58 yrs old, shes not that much older than me...

I am 66 years old. I will not drive my car if I only have a glass of wine with dinner. There is no excuse to get behind the wheel if you have been drinking. All medications will have a warning label if they do not react well with alcohol. I have no sympathy for this woman.
I know at the time people were hysterical but they shouldn’t have moved that woman.
Drinking and driving is so common they need to invent a car or for all cars to have a breathalyzer and it will disengage and not work or senses someway that there’s some impairment involved in the vehicle and it will just shut shut down so that nobody can drive it After however long it usually takes for people to get sober and DUI take the license away and they can just walk everywhere no more driving that’s it punishment drinking and driving

She had a seizure her last seizure in March???? This happened April 20. You cant drive untl you are 6 months seizure free.

The only thing that will get this woman off is if the BAC gets thrown out. Period. If it does, you will severely reduce the charges or she will walk entirely as a possibility. Chain of custody trying to be proven faulty which it won’t. If you have a seizure, heart attack, stroke, aneurysm, whatever it is and you slam into a building and kill two kids and injure several others are you going to jail? No. Not necessarily as sad as it is. Not if you are sober and were legally allowed to operate a vehicle prior and a medical event happens that causes all of that. That person will walk. Despite all these injuries and death. No way to foresee that coming and nobody’s fault. But if you have a BAC 3 x the legal limit, you know never to get behind the wheel to start with and if you do and then the same thing happens and have a medical event happening at some point after? It automatically becomes a drunk driving accident because the two aren’t isolated. Let’s say for the sake of argument her alcohol content is so tolerable to her a few feet next door that she would have never done this without a medical event, she is so used to the parking lot, she used to be the commodore there she knows it well, so used to the route and would have parked as usual and staggered in there like so many people saw her do before, and had it not been for a medical event this would not have happened, It is totally irrelevant because she was not operating a vehicle legally to start with. It is like someone owning a firearm who just had eye surgery and both eyes bandaged and they want to shoot their gun. It is theirs. They have a right to do it. But not legally. She was illegally operating a vehicle under the influence prior and could have prevented it entirely had she stayed home. It does not matter what car you own you are not legally to get behind of a wheel drunk even if you go next door and if you have a medical event have it at home, know you are drunk and call 911. The very fact she got behind the wheel of a car illegally with a BAC that high, had she stayed home it would have prevented this before this medical event she claims she had took place and it makes her accountable as a drunk driver even if one had nothing to do with the other because she would be illegally operating a vehicle the second she got in her car in her driveway. None of this bullshit about her having anything go on medically is relevant. The only thing her lawyer can do to save her is get the BAC thrown out. Otherwise, there is no way in the entire world this woman will get out of this. I drove this route recently. I am from the area. That route is difficult and has a lot of bends. I grew up on a dirt road in Monroe County. In my opinion, it appears as angry driving to me. 500 feet away and gunning it out of reverse after hitting another vehicle. It looks to me knowing those kinds of roads as if she was very angry at something.
Neuropathy is not seizures. Seizures are neurpathic but not neuopathy. One of my family members had epilepsy. In my observation she looked drunk when pulling from her driveway.

This woman is going away for a very long time unless she gets off on some kind of technicality which I don't see that happening.
