Who's listening and crying in 2021? This song is like a time machine transporting me back to 1996 when I was in love with someone who simply didn't love me back... I remember realizing I was in love for the first time and how amazing that felt and yet how lonely I was because we couldn't be together. A beautiful timeless piece of ART
Goddamn Kristin, you took me back to those times. Born in 1990 but I'm sure I felt the same feelings during my teenage days. Cus this song pulls the exact same heart strings
top 10 album of the 90's? probably... nirvana... i'd argue... Oasis Morning Glory... maybe The Chronic? Green Day Dookie? Weezer ugh a lotta great... oh TLC... well... top 20 for sure.
This is the best part of the song: "And this is our last time we'll be friends again. And I'll get over you, you'll wonder who I am". Reminds me an ex girlfriend I had. The love she used to feel for me disappear withouth any reason. I really like her and couldn't never figure out what happened. I hope nowadays she wonder who i am and what did she lost...
"You smile, you say the world it doesn't fit with you. I don't believe you, you're so serene. Careening through the universe, your axis on a tilt, you're guiltless and free, and I hope you take a piece of me with you."
This is amazing. Can you imagine the feeling of being up there singing your song and a few thousand people are singing along with your every word? Love this
I get such dark and painful feelings when I listen to this song, and the album, but because it expresses and shares many thoughts and emotions that I have had, and reminds me of personal experiences of my past that I fucking love it! I was going through a very difficult demise of a long relationship shortly after this album came out. I would drink a bunch of whiskey, get high, and listen to this in the dark. It fed my melancholy, but it was also like therapy. Even though listening to it today brings back those feelings and memories I still love it.
this, god of wine and the background are so painfully good... so real . You feel it . not to mention just damn well written performed arranged and produced songs . not to take away from any other great TEB songs ... just something about these 3 that just break your heart in the worst yet best way . gets me everytime
I love this song. My roommate right after college and I used to sing along to this song and we made up hand movements and everything. So dumb. Great times.
I've loved 3EB ever since my first heartbreak...His words have helped me more then anything...I wonder where we're all going homesick for your primal knowing I wonder why the wind keeps blowing you through my mind...
I actually was incredibly lucky to see 3eb way back in their prime in the early 2000's, it was epic. At one point of the concert they just brought out a bunch of beanbag type chairs and did a whole acoustic set. It was absolutely phenomenal. This was one of the songs that they played acoustic and I cried, no joke. I was there with my boyfriend at the time but he wasn't exactly the best person so it kinda felt real in that moment. Here i am 20 plus years later and I still cry. It's about letting go of someone you love even though it hurts so much, because you know deep inside that they just aren't good for you. I know that most, if not all of us, can relate to that. One of the best concerts of my life.
is it just me, or 3eb's music is so much appreciated by introverts? that's why it can no longer get the attention of mainstream media? many people is missing so much! This is great/epic music! sorry for the bad english. im not a native english speaker.
I absolutely agree, when I listen to them I almost feel lucky to be in the smaller minority to worship and understand there music, rather than the millions plus who hear the same mundane radio music every day
I think their music is appealing to all types of people, not just introverts. The reason their music isn't as successful in the mainstream anymore is, in my opinion, because they haven't made anything that even remotely approaches the brilliance of that first record. ...however, that first album was a masterpiece. The kind of thing that'll stick with you your entire life. I'll never forget the Christmas morning I opened a gift to find one of the first CDs I ever owned, and on the front cover of the lyric booklet inside the jewel case shown the image of a woman using her outstretched hand to cover her face, leaving only one intensely focused eye exposed, the whole thing awash in bright red light. I'd only ever heard "Semi-Charmed Life" to that point and I didn't have the slightest idea what any of their other music might sound like. What an incredibly pleasant surprise that album was, start to finish. It was the soundtrack to more than a few summers, relationships, good times and bad. Thanks, mom and dad =)
I first heard this song in 2004. I was a sophomore in high school and I was attending a retreat in preparation for confirmation. We all had to pick a song that really touches the soul and explain why. I chose I Feel Home by OAR, obvious reasons. But someone else at the retreat chose this song. And I’m very glad they did, this shit will bring a tear to your eye.
TheCurtisdavies I actually hate that! I love this band so much and happened upon this by accident. I was so excited to hear them live. I have never had the pleasure of seeing them in person. I was SOOOO disappointed to hear the audience drown him out. Sorry to reply with a negative reply a year later.
Summer time and the wind is blowing outside In lower Chelsea and I don't know What I'm doing in this city The sun is always in my eyes It crashes through the windows And I'm sleeping on the couch When I came to visit you That's when I knew I could never Have you I knew that before you did Still I'm the one who's stupid And there's this burning Like there's always been I never been so alone And I've never bee n so alive Visions of you on a motorcycle drive by The cigarette ash flies in your eyes And you don't mind, you smile And say the world doesn't fit with you I don't believe you, you're so serene Careening through the universe Your axis on a tilt , you're guiltless and free I hope you take a piece of me with you And there's things I'd like to do That you don't believe in I would like to build something But you never see it happen And there's this burning Like there's always been I've ne ver been so alone And I've, I've never been so alive And there's this burning There is this burning Where's the soul I want to know New York City is evil The surface is everything but I could never do that Someone would see through that And this is our last time We'll be friends again I'll get over you, you'll wonder who I am And there's this burning Just like there's always been I've never been so alone alone And I've, and I've never been so alive So alive I go home to the coast It starts to rain I paddle out on the water Alone Taste the salt and taste the pain I'm not thinking of you again Summer dies and swells rise The sun goes down in my eyes See this rolling wave Darkly coming to take me Home And I've never been so alone And I've never been so alive
A girl once asked "what's a song I should listen to...." I told her this one. She responded a day later with "I haven't stopped crying and I've listened to it a hundred times!" I told her "You'll listen another hundred more and every time it'll be new." Art. Beauty.
Same exact thing happened to me and my ex. She has depressive bipolar and complete shut me out of her life. No matter how hard I tried, the love died between us and I miss it so much. It's probably for the best though...
I go home to the coast It starts to rain I paddle out on the water Alone Taste the salt and taste the pain I'm not thinking of you again Summer dies and swells rise The sun goes down in my eyes See this rolling wave Darkly coming to take me Home And I've never been so alone And I've never been so alive
I normally want to throttle people that scream at live music events, especially over quiet intimate songs, but the lady at 3:40 might have added an extra dimension to this track...
Have you ever been drunk/high and played the game "ten albums you'd take to the moon?" (if you could only take ten and you were stuck up there) Well 3eb's first album is on my list.
One of my favorite bands in 97 in 2006 saw them in an old chuckle cheese I had a staff infection that started in my knee went down to my ankle didn’t know it at the time gilled all day for my friends got carried into The concert because I couldn’t walk got carried out spent the next three days in the hospital almost lost my leg but wouldn’t miss it
This is my personal account, and I don’t typically comment publicly on anything, but you either: 1. Are nice, advanced AI. 2. Living inside my brain when I hear this song.
I ride motorcycles my whole life...every relationship, there's a motorcycle involved...so this song hits hard :) I know exactly where Stephan is coming from ,when he wrote this song.
"the surface is everything, but I could never do that. some one would see through that!" that to me is one of their most powerful lines. especially to me in highschool and being autistic, I knew that I couldn't be all these things on the surface that I was supposed to be... mostly because I would know they were fake and I could figure it out, some one else would too, so what was the point in lying to yourself. its all that summed up in one phrase.
Z100 radio and now my IPOD like to share with Italians that don't know you but they WILL, better later than ever!!!!!! Not so alive but different and ny city not evil just a tought city that was not but everything changes except forgetting you all. It won't happen , will remember you forever :) Angela, central Italy
Damn. Low key one of the 90’s best albums front to back
HIGH-key, man
There is not a filler song on the album.
@@holdencaulfield4808 Yeah they can just delete low key from that sentence

I Can Relate❤️
Hope it’s all worked out for you to this point bro. Love always wins.
Still in 2023!
The crowd singing along is arguably the best part
Thought the same thing.
especially because this song was never played on the radio
Absolutely. I'm almost 65, hardly the demographic. But loved this song when I was still 40ish and somewhat in my prime 😊
It is one of those that never had "radio play"
I discovered it eons ago. Still resonates with me
Absofuckinglutely. I am the only person I know who is in love with this song. Glad to see I am not so alone.
Their first album is fucking EPIC
It truly is! Theres certain albums that just seem to capture something
I love that they play it in order live, like I'm back in HS or College just driving with it the album on repeat.
top 10 album of the 90's? probably... nirvana... i'd argue... Oasis Morning Glory... maybe The Chronic? Green Day Dookie? Weezer ugh a lotta great... oh TLC... well... top 20 for sure.
god fr. every track bangs
and the album titled,"Blue."
Its 2024. I still listen to this album and my 8yr old loves it too. Hope you play it in July when i take him to see you

"You smile, you say the world it doesn't fit with you. I don't believe you, you're so serene.
Careening through the universe, your axis on a tilt, you're guiltless and free, and I hope you take a piece of me with you."
there's things I'd like to do..that u don't believe in !! I would like to build something...
Some of the greatest lyrics I have ever heard to this day.......
Poetry
Always gives me chills, one of the best songs of the 90s
This is amazing. Can you imagine the feeling of being up there singing your song and a few thousand people are singing along with your every word? Love this
Just like holding a burst of tears.
Since 97 to now, this song still manages to completely fuck me up.
What a beautiful song. Saved me during a very dark time. Tears still flow. She never believed.... now she has passed.
I have never been more alone....

Did the same bro. Did the same
Same bro! I thought I was the only one. Thank you.
Just saw these guys last weekend and it was like travelling back in time when they played this. Crowd still sang it just as loud!

Its such a spiritual experience.
From start to finish --- one of the BEST albums in history of everything 😎
anyone here in 2021? love this song
this, god of wine and the background are so painfully good... so real . Hands down best third eye blind song

Amazing crowd! Gives me goosebumps how well they sang along.
I love this song. My roommate right after college and I used to sing along to this song and we made up hand movements and everything. So dumb. Great times.

You are right...my friend
+Oliver oh yeah totally agree
In a way, I want them to remain understated, so whenever I listen to them, I can feel that I have a personal relationship with their music.
I absolutely agree, when I listen to them I almost feel lucky to be in the smaller minority to worship and understand there music, rather than the millions plus who hear the same mundane radio music every day

I taste the salt and I taste the pain, I’m not thinking of you again.
I feel that in my soul.
my favorite band forever
what a song, Still amazed after all these years, one of my favorites, so beautiful
I first heard this song in 2004. I was a sophomore in high school and I was attending a retreat in preparation for confirmation. This song is so beautiful....love 'em and their music. 90s Alternative rock songs are always awesome!!
love this band so much, love how everyone is joining in with the lyrics!
TheCurtisdavies

'you'll never see it happen'... such emotional charge.
For those who say S. Jenkins can't sing...just watch this, and shut your face hole!! This is wonderful.
Summer time and the wind is blowing outside
In lower Chelsea and I don't know
What I'm doing in this city
The sun is always in my eyes
It crashes through the windows
And I'm sleeping on the couch
When I came to visit you
That's when I knew I could never
Have you
I knew that before you did
Still I'm the one who's stupid
And there's this burning
Like there's always been
I never been so alone
And I've never bee n so alive
Visions of you on a motorcycle drive by
The cigarette ash flies in your eyes
And you don't mind, you smile
And say the world doesn't fit with you
I don't believe you, you're so serene
Careening through the universe
Your axis on a tilt , you're guiltless and free
I hope you take a piece of me with you
And there's things I'd like to do
That you don't believe in
I would like to build something
But you never see it happen
And there's this burning
Like there's always been
I've ne ver been so alone
And I've, I've never been so alive
And there's this burning
There is this burning
Where's the soul I want to know
New York City is evil
The surface is everything but I could never do that
Someone would see through that
And this is our last time
We'll be friends again
I'll get over you, you'll wonder who I am
And there's this burning
Just like there's always been
I've never been so alone alone
And I've, and I've never been so alive
So alive
I go home to the coast
It starts to rain I paddle out on the water
Alone
Taste the salt and taste the pain
I'm not thinking of you again
Summer dies and swells rise
The sun goes down in my eyes
See this rolling wave
Darkly coming to take me
Home
And I've never been so alone
And I've never been so alive
You the real MVP
Thankyou
This is one of my top five songs of all time.
Always reminds me of my final years in High school back in 2000. Still my favorite band.
What a song, what a performance, and with great audio quality? Amazing
this song and god of wine. anytime, any day.
The fact they closed that album with this and god of wine which both just pull at your soul was insane
Love this fucking song.
A girl once asked "what's a song I should listen to...." I told her this one. She responded a day later with "I haven't stopped crying and I've listened to it a hundred times!" I told her "You'll listen another hundred more and every time it'll be new." Art. Beauty.
Great audience here! Wish I was there!!

That was awesomee
First heard this song in 2006 my freshman year of college. Sitting on the green line in Boston and listening to this on repeat. Amazing
The song is beautiful as the crowd, hearing the band sing with them just enhance the whole vibe
3eb helped me alot to recover from my 1st heartbreak💔
Goosebumps
I like this one.
This is their best song if not, one of their best. Even if you can't relate to it, the lyrics as well as the vocals are superb.
Have you ever been drunk/high and played the game "ten albums you'd take to the moon?" (if you could only take ten and you were stuck up there) Well 3eb's first album is on my list.
ben wade all there albums
One of the best songs ever

Yes incredible feeling indeed

It must have been terrible for you! I went through the same situation, but I got over it and I don't wanna see her ever again!
"the surface is everything, but I could never do that. some one would see through that!"
that to me is one of their most powerful lines. especially to me in highschool and being autistic, I knew that I couldn't be all these things on the surface that I was supposed to be... mostly because I would know they were fake and I could figure it out, some one else would too, so what was the point in lying to yourself. its all that summed up in one phrase.
Its one of those..."I wish I wrote that" songs.
