- How to tame and use an Oasisaur, in excruciating depth! Today we look at all the ins and outs of ASA's first DLC creature, including optimal taming values and how best to maximise the weight for your mobile base.
IMPORTANT EDIT: I state 2% per 1k hp of the soul used, my confi was mistakenly on 2x taming. It's 1% (multiplied by taming rate) per 1k, optimal numbers become:
1x (official) = 20k soul
2x-4x = 17-19k soul
5x and above = 20k soul

IMPORTANT EDIT: Due to a config reset issue, taming rates were 2x for this video. Correct values are 1% (multiplied by taming rate) per 1k hp.
With this change, optimal souls become:
1x (OFFICIAL) = 20k hp
2-4x = 17-19k hp
5x and above = 20k hp

I always know there's one around if my game freezes for 10 seconds... only thing that lags my game lol. It's fine when loaded but even when tamed it freezes everytime it's loaded in

I often worry I go a bit overboard at the times... a lot of the info probably isn't that important to the average person, and the time taken on all the little extras start to add up without being all that necessary :/

Best video I’ve seen on this so far. Especially with the spawn map. Only thing I might address is dealing with the vultures that get stuck inside because there’s definitely a good portion of them that do.
It never happened to me so I didn't realise it was an issue :/
Someone says rare flowers in another comment, Although in these 'defend me' type scenarios they often can't have their aggro changed, so I'm not sure... but could be worth a shot? Better than nothing.

Very thorough! I didn’t like owning one and it disappeared on me. Didn’t see anything in the logs. Biggest complaint is how slow it is
I tamed one today 🙌 used a fresh tamed/dead paracer with under 6k hp. MC ranged pew pew & 290dmg spear. Was difficult but possible solo. 4x taming though
Okay so wc was smart abt what the oasisaurs food tying it to the dlc. You can't just forcetame it then feed it berries. Now I just wonder if you can spawn in the green plantpots

I really wish I knew the hit about the HP amount. Just finished raising a Paracer for this and I was under the impression that stats didn’t matter and overall level does. My Paracer has all levels into Weight.
I tamed 1 Saturday morning resources not spawning in inventory been trying to figure out what's up help please
How do you deal with it if it agro with you?
9:15 palm trees gives 1200 food, but not all of them can be harvested in SE, in a group of 3 maybe only one will allow you to get it.

I tamed one myself and I still have the baby rex in a cryopod and it's named resurrected baby rex.

The only question I have that I haven't found anywhere is how do you get the trees to grow back? Shortly after taming mine, I guess I dumped its resources, and nothing ever grew back. That was 6 days ago, and it's still a blank empty back.
The nodes on the back ought to be purely visual, even when it dumps it's resources into the inventory they don't typically vanish. They will be removed if you build on it, but it SHOULD still produce the resources in it's inventory whether you can see them or not. I've not encountered it myself but saw a completely blank one on a stream, but it appears to be a bug.

most bushes in plant pots ive found gave 75 food. I've recently started feeding trees, but I never actually saw him eat one, so I don't know how much it gave.
Interesting, do you have any tweaked ini that could be affecting it? The smallest pots should be labelled "Small Bush" or "Small cactus", with the upper being "Large Tree" and "Extra Large Tree"
Everything I've got here came from devkit digging followed by repeated testing (24hr cooldown not helpful!), and the numbers matched up for me every time, so I'm very curious about this.
@@freynlives I have seen small bush, but when I dig the small cactus, it says small bush with lots of berries or something. I could count better when it's food was on 0, but now that it's full I just keep him fed all the time.
Wish i knew about the HP before , 3 unleveled paracer gave their lives for nothing 😢
I tried to tame one of these on single player PC but it wouldn't let me access the pool. Idk.
The only circumstance I've found that didn't let you access it is if it recently took damage. It needs time to calm down before you can do it if so

How do you level the Oasisaur without attacking any other creature?
All tames gain XP passively over time, just very slowly.
If you're mounted while gaining XP it'll also give some to the tame too, e.g via crafting or a tribemate killing things.

Tame with two lightning wyverns breath doesnt hurt oasisaur

@@freynlives ur very welcome... yeah i tried to kill one that was bugged and only poison breath hurts it... lightning and fire doesnt... so we tamed it that way

I'm afraid that like other tames it's just passive healing and the Daeodon, if there's a better way I've not found it :(

Just use lightning wyverns to kill the waves.
I figured that out the other day i killed 2 with an argie before I tried to use a wyvern
I’m so disappointed I really wanted to bring the oasisaur to the island
These things are so bugged - still. No ability to access the resource inventory and it's back/top are completely bare.
Feels so great to PAY for something completely broken.
They lost all or most all of their food when bring an animal back.
Who else wants to build a base on it
Dont bother with weapons .. oasisaur wont be damaged by wyvern breath attacks so you can just take lightning or fire and blast vultures out of the sky
Ultimate guide:do not bother taming an oasisaurus as they are nothing but bugged out bs.not 1 dino ever released on asa and ase was as broken as this pos is.
