- This is the fifth part of a series of videos showing how the students on the BSc (Hons.) Automotive Design Technology course, at the University of Bradford, approach the creation of a quarter scale clay vehicle model. In this video, we see how detail is added to the model and wheel arches are created.
CAD certainly is a great engineering tool, is good for concept design and in the end will be used for tool(molds and dies) but to get the aesthetics down right nothing is faster or more changeable than clay. When the clay model is completed it is white light scanned and reintroduced CAD for the aforementioned tooling process.

I use clay also. I have time lapse videos showing my clay work on a full scale car called the JZ Cobra. Take a look at it.

that method doesnt hold water in court... so he should get a real patent
