A few years ago, I learned that part of my heritage is Irish. I've been on a mission to learn more about myself as my mom was adopted and my bio dad left.
I have always loved Spring and Easter but knowing the tradition, in my American life, was so saturated in christian beliefs (raised Baptist and catholic -i know l9nder claim christianity) it was hard to buy into, but the beauty of it was something I always clung to.
When I say that tears fell on this day after trying to find info about Easter with OUT christian undertones....but then to learn there is ANOTHER beautiful Godess that contributes to MY Easter and the lore is out of Ireland.... I can't thank you enough. With all of my heart, thank you!

This is beautiful! I was worried it was too muddled by Wicca to be meaningfully practiced by me. Thank you

Hi there! So so happy to find your page and videos- I have a question concerning geographic location. Do you feel we should still be celebrating the traditional ways if we live in a more tropical area? There are a lot of things I'm finding that dont feel quite right for celebrating the festivals since we're here in Florida. Most of the information I find concerning the old celebrations are heavily Wiccan, and I am not, so I'm also glad you made the distinction at the beginning of the video. Any thoughts you have would be so so appreciated

You are a wonderful storyteller and lorespinner. As a student of lore myself, I have a rabbit-hole to explore here, pun intended. Since Ostara is a Germanic goddess and Olwen is Welsh, these goddesses must have made their way into Irish tradition from cultural pollination. Logically, the Germanic tradition could have come from Saxon England, since Venerable Bede refers to a goddess named Eostre who was honoured in April. We can also easily speculate that there was coming and going between Wales and Ireland, regarding the goddess Olwen. I find it interesting to explore when and how Germanic and Welsh traditions made their way into Irish practice. The name Brigid actually has Norse roots, and we know that the Vikings settled in and founded the city now known as Dublin. Do you have any lore on non-Irish traditions being culturally transferred to Ireland? The cultural borrowing between the Celtic and Scandinavian traditions is fascinating.

Brigid was older than the Viking invasions and the founding of Dublin. Lots of Ireland was Christianized by then, unguarded churches and monasteries attracted the Vikings. Possibly an earlier Scandinavian contact before the Viking age or maybe Brigid was derived from a very ancient PIE word that both cultures shared. You're right the cultural borrowing is fascinating. I don't mean to sound like a know it all, for instance I never heard of Olwen until this video. Just wanted to share the little knowledge I did have.

The group, or more specifically the symbol is Arwin, or Awin. I'm certain you will have heard of that. If not, I will have videos coming soon on both family lore and general knowledge 🙏
Thank you for coming in and sharing. This is a storytellers den, no know-it-alls here, just us story folks
