In this Podcast / Movie Review they will look back at the "Tommy Jarvis Trilogy" also known as Friday the 13th parts 4: The Final Chapter, Part 5: A New Beginning , and Part 6: Jason Lives!
Friday the 13th is an American horror franchise that comprises twelve slasher films, a television series, novels, comic books, video games, and tie‑in merchandise. The franchise mainly focuses on the fictional character Jason Voorhees, who drowned as a boy at Camp Crystal Lake due to the negligence of the camp staff.

I don’t understand people who go “aWw ThE vIdEo Is ToO lOnG!” It’s not Cable Television, you can watch it at your leisure.
As someone who works a full time job where I have to do menial labor all day, I appreciate having Hour+ long videos to listen to to pass the time.
bro, I love listening to these videos as I play search and destroy with a few shots when I chuckle, I use to be deterred by the hour + vids, but now they aint long enough HHAAH
it's because they don't have steady jobs and watch these on school nights before going to sleep. Or they just like bitching about stuff. Even if i didn't like the show, more of a free thing is always great,isn't it?
I love Crispin Glover's line, "Hey Ted! Where the hell's the corkscrew?" right before he gets stabbed in the hand.
Ironically Ted White played Jason in The Final Chapter.
Was this before or after Crispin Glover almost kicked Larry King in the face???

The way he says Ted is hilarious
I'm a part 6 guy. It's got the right mix of comedy for me in one of these flicks, they understood what they were making. There's also great scenes of menace as all the kid campers are sleeping and then by the window here goes the nasty killer Jason stomping by. Love that one.
Crystal's face at 36:47 when Tony brings up the "New Beginning" is a total mood.
What's great about these is Tony goes that extra mile and goes deeper into things. He has more information to share than most other movie reviewers online. Tony has only gotten better and better at what he's doing as the years have passed. Also, he brings people on that actually have charisma.
Just read about Newt being hospitalized. Send him some love and a six pack of Miller.

That's some top quality dancing by Tony and Newt.
Newt looks even more like a marionette than usual, and Tony strikes a pose like he's in a Saturday Night Fever knockoff starring Captain Lou Albano.

I love how when Jason threw the dude in the tree, and was holding his arm, he's just like "damn, I'm strong AF."

The purpose of the hitchhiker death scene in 4 is to let the audience know that Jason is heading in the same direction as the teens in the car so they're going to be in danger later.
You should have gone a bit more into Ted White. He has an impressive resume. He was actually 58 when he played Jason, and he's still alive now at the age of 95. As for his career, he stunt doubled for John Wayne in _Hatari!_ and for Ricou Browning as the Gill-man in _Revenge of the Creature._ Other stunt work includes _Planet of the Apes, Soylent Green, Escape From New York, Short Circuit, Major League, _Wild Wild West_ and _Gone in 60 Seconds._ Not to mention all the small roles he's played in _The Sands of Iwo Jima_ (1949), _The Alamo, TRON, Starman, Romancing the Stone_ and _Silverado._
I really think you guys are getting the formula down. I'm really enjoying when it's you three because you all add a different element into the conversation and it's just so much fun to listen you guys. These make my day. Keep up the great content, Crystal, Newt, and Tony!

Funny that you mention Tara Strong since they were both one of the Powerpuff Girls, which is why I believe most people get them confused.

Part 6 is my favorite too. I would say this started the iconic Jason look. Also, the writer wanted this to be like a classic Universal Horror movie. The opening has the moon and fog...lightning.
Part 4 and 6 are my favorites.
What iconic Jason look was that? I hated how he looked in that movie. The army shirt and belt with the knife. He never looked like that ever again.
The Book of the Dead in The Evil Dead franchise doesn't just make Deadites. That's just that specific One Spell that brings the Deadites out. In expanded media the book is sentient and wants to bring the Deadites out but it has spells for other monsters and creatures and alot of other stuff like time travel.
Crystal been on point with her notes, keeping these guys on their toes... Jason x is pry my favorite, him beating those campers together in the sleeping bags is hilarious

I love Crystal's enthusiasm about these movies (and towards Slumberparty Massacre 2!). Also, Newt fix your haircut.
I dont understand her love for SPM2. The first person camera work is just so jarring. I'm not used to the actors just randomly looking straight at the camera while delivering their lines.
The Ben/Willard part was hilarious and the dancing was amazing. I like Grease and Grease 2.
Great show as always. You 3 seem to really work well together like a band. Keep up the superb work and stay safe.
Friday part 4 is an absolute masterpiece, Corey feldman leading the charge what a legend he is
I like 4 and 6 the best but I like them all really.
In regards to the Swamp Zombies bit, I liked 1 but I loved 2. It had a lot to do with Crystal's portrayal of Mouse and Newt's portrayal of uh, Newt.
Part IV is still my favorite after rewatching all of them a few months ago
Yea it is pretty much the best one... but I like all. 6 is also one of my favorites.
Bess Motta was one of the few Woman that starred in Aerobisize and Was Sarah Conner's roommate who gets shot in her blue robe etc.
I do my part to give you guys as much of a boost as possible. I turn on episodes when I leave the house to keep noise going so my dog isn't alone in silence. She loves the show. Although she has less than savory things to say about Newt.

I wanna see these movies a lot. But the 1st movie will always hold a place in my heart. Over a decade ago, my cousin took me to a 3 day Horror Film Fest hosted by Mr. Lobo. End of night 1 was the First Friday the 13th, with the director and lead actress live commentary. It was amazing. I never knew so much went into movies and that a movie like that had such an interesting twist. Jason's theme is iconic.
And as Mr. Lobo introduced me to one my favorite words of wisdom that I think applies to this series: "There are no bad movies, just misunderstood."
I had the Jason mask under Tony as a kid and I swear I wore it every Halloween for a decade I loved it so much

Man, Newt’s confession that even his own parents can’t stand him really explains a lot. He became his own favorite everything to fill that void.
Its just because he is a liberal. I mean if my kid was a liberal I would beat the crap out of him. His father I am sure feels like a major failure as a parent. Sad, but its not his fault. You can't control how much your kid gets programmed through life, only to a certain extent.

"Chopping wood guy" is actually Mark Ventura - who played "Suicide" in the cult classic "Return of the Living Dead." He's the Big Punk Guy who falls victim to the Tar Man zombie in the basement of Uneeda Medical Supply. "Return of the Living Dead" was a pretty big hit at that time - so I'm sure that's why you see 2 actors from that film in Friday the 13th part 4. The other being Miguel Nunez.

Still to this day the finest zombie film ever made - and the sequels are pretty good too. HTM could really do all 3 - like they've done with some other trilogies. If nothing else they should at least do the original. It's a masterpiece, and a very influential entry in the zombie genre - such a fun ride.

My headcannon is that JAson did die as a kid, but his mom did that ritual to revive him in the first movie, Jason's heart came back and possesed someone. Each time jason dies(until he gets trapped in the lake), his body dissolves and the heart possesses someone else in Crystal Lake. So that way Roy is actually Jason and the body swapping one is tied into earlier stuff.

I always figured that Roy DID kill the guy who killed his Son… they found his ambulance & partner… afterwards he snapped & became the Jason copycat
I am 100% sure that Roy was on PCP or something, which would explain his lack of reaction to pain as well as his strength.
First of all, I grew up in Trenton, Nj, and love mudding and hanging in the woods.
I gotta give it to that kid working at Target... If I saw Newt out in the open, I don't think I would recognize him.

Has anyone else noticed the remakes of all the horror movies came out in the same order as the originals? Texas Chainsaw Massacre, then Halloween, next is Friday the 13th, then A Nightmare on Elm Street, followed by Child's Play. Same order as the originals.

Crystal freakouts are so funny
The discussion about Roy’s picture of Joey being too recent in part 5 reminded me of when I was watching Expendables 2. Liam Hemsworth is in it for like three scenes or something, and he gets killed pretty early on. At the end, Stallone is leaving some stuff for his wife or girlfriend or whatever, or maybe it was some sort of memorial, and we see a picture of Hemsworth, and it’s clearly just a promo 8 x 10 that was shot in the same place as his death scene.

part 2 takes place 5 years after part 1 which is in 1979. which means that part 2 is in 1984. And tommy is 12 in part 4. Newt said that tommy is probably around 16-18 in part 5. I say he 17 because most of the teen are suppose to be 17 in the Friday the 13th movies. with means that part 5 is in 1989. tommy is probably around his early 20s in part 6 which means it take place around 1992-1994 and part 7, 8 ,9 takes place before 2003 because freddy's dead is in 1999 and the characters say that freddy been gone for 4 years. so part 7, 8 ,9 at least have to take place before 2003.

You know, I actually don't mind these in-episode ads, but it reminds me of vintage radio commercials. Like, Jell-O was all up in the most popular shows on air, just interjecting with advertising personalities.
for those of you wondering, the next Friday the 13th, so the date for the next trilogy review, is May 2022.
11:20 sounds like they updated the description to avoid confusion for newcomers who didn't grow up with it being the final one (at the time) On my VHS of part 4 it doesn't say But not Final like you read on your dvd
Part 6 is the best one followed by 5 & 4 in my opinion.🎉
