I recently got into valorant about 3 months ago and wasn’t the best but I started watching all of your videos and watching how you play the and your mechanics and I see such a big difference in my gameplay:) so Keeoh thank you so much for teaching me this game while having a lot of fun!

I love this new idea. From personal experience, grinding out of low elo and seeing people limit themselves using certain guns was a a huge blow to morale, regardless of how they played. So I am happy to see you ditch the original idea. I'd love to be apart of this new one so I joined the discord!
Yeah it's kind of a 'damned if you do damned if you don't" scenario. I watched an eggwick video about a classic only player and kinda picked up on how much so it is. I've never really thought to put myself in the shoes of the people challenge runners were playing with but there was a lot of debate in eggwick's video about the morale, how people on your team can lose morale to be outfragged by a classic if you're doing well, or feel like you're throwing if you're not. And enemy players, though less impacted directly by the challenge have the possibility of feeling defeated by getting dominated by someone with a much worse weapon, or feeling unchallenged as the challenge for the one player can make a game much easier for the opposing team.
I think in most cases I don't see enough of a problem to discourage the challenge runs entirely, but honestly I was kinda on the fence with this challenge's start of knife only.
Keeoh this change is absolutely fantastic. I was one of the unhappy commentors on the first video of this series and after your idea I'm much happier watching a silly challenge in Valorant. I really didn't want to watch another radiant youtuber play in low elo lobbies with random people who are learning the game. Playing customs absolutely seems like the right way to go, you don't waste anybody's time unless they sign up for it, and it keeps ranked lobbies real for those ranked players. You go king!
To add incase there's confusion: I don't enjoy most of these challenges in ranked because *if the smurf simply picks up a vandal instead of knife/bucky/shorty, they would ace every, single, round.* It's not a genuine experience, and honestly it MIGHT, maybe wont, teach these people bad habits like to check everything for a right clicking bucky guy.
Instead of him helping his team as a radiant but also not throwing the other teams' game by nerfing himself, now they have more of a chance for someone else to do it, or continue to do it. Your complaining, with everyone else who did, was projecting the fact they were in those bottom ranks and deal with ACTUAL smurfs who's egos won't let them play with those who are better than them. This man does it for content and the enjoyment of others. Congrats on complaining, peace.

And doesn't matter if it's knife only or not u are ruining the competitive experience either way doing a challenge doesn't take away your game sense and movement and decision making that new players struggle with

Holy shit that was actually such a concept. I was racking my brain trying to consider how you could continue the series while also making the people complaining in the first place happy (not that I don't think they're justifiably upset, mind you) but the idea of just gather people in iron that are fine with someone doing knife only *and* doesn't impact rr is fantastic, it also allows for an interaction of the whole community much larger than your typical content which is pretty massive also. I like this pivot a lot, and just wanted to let you know that.

I saw on the Valorant subreddit that people were complaining and it hurt to see because I do really enjoy watching you as a creator, but I couldn't really defend you or the idea because I agreed with what people were saying. It is really respectable that you listened to the feedback and have done something about it, still making your content without ruining the integrity of the competitive experience for other players. Genuinely, just well done.
Who can get upset that Keeoh was using knife only in iron knowing his intentions were pure. It's an insane handicap and barely would change the outcome of the game. Nothing like smurfing or throwing games (both of which he experienced other players doing). Use your heads people

Forget the haters, keep doing you man! It’s hard to get creative with Valorant as a game in general. You’re having a very negligible impact on ranked games as a whole. Even then, I can guarantee we’ve had much worse ppl in our mmr than you doing a challenge. Nonetheless, appreciate the content as always!
Edit: Sorry if I started anything, I just felt it was more of a self imposed challenge and didn’t propagate smurfing. Always gonna see 100s of smurfs and clearly keeoh hasn’t been that! I am kinda hype to see him fill/alter eggwicks niche now too.

The way I see it, people are mad that what you did was working but not the way they wanted it to. Sure it’s competitive, sure you weren’t playing the meta way, but it’s not like you were actively throwing on purpose. There are people actually trying that throw harder than you do and they will be the first to blame. I think this challenge is super cool and unique. But hey, it’s your series you do you Keeoh! Make some more bangers and good luck with the challenge!

As someone who is genuinely low elo and doing my best to learn and get better and grind out of it, I support you more as a creator now than I have before. It’s really disheartening having Smurfs in my lobbies regardless of how they limit themselves, and makes the game really un fun. I really admire how you chose to go about this

So many creators are smurfing for content and are being a problem for us in lower ranks, but as you say your self, you put the bar for yourself so high that it hardly counts as smurfing and still feel bad enough to decide that you'd rather go through the pain of getting customs together for this challenge! RESPECT!!
Switching to private lobbies is a good solution. To me it seems like the only fully ethical way to do challenges like this, though you need a big enough community to do so

I feel like if you get an ace you should be able to get 1 life back, make it a bit more bearable with a goal in each game.
