Perfect explanation. Slot and channel is not same thing. I was initally confused. I thought no. of slots is equal to number of channels but actually number of channel depends on motherboard and has nothing to do with number of slots. Thank you.

marketing strategy...nothing big difference i found ...i also used to use single 8gb ram then i upgrade extra 8gb ram noting big difference in the name of dual single chhnnle ram..its all about extend your ram managment from 8 to 16 that your cpu can task flowless in multitasking

Sir, i built a new pc. I am novice but gathered courage after seeing your videos and took the task at hand. After i assembled all components i was happy and did the xmp and other things you described in the video of what to do after building pc. I did the windows and after that i started the motherboard driver intall. Now the problem started. I misyakenly updated the bios from the popup of the driver cd. After the bios was updated the pc didnot start. After trying for a day i decided to alter ram slots and now the pc starts only when i put my ram sticks on A1 and A2 slots. B1 and B2 slots are not working. I downloaded the factory version of the bios ad did a M flash but it didnot allow me to insert any ram in the B slots. Please tell me what might be the cause and what may be the solution. Thanks.

Lets say if Mobo is : MSI Z490-A PRO . Tell me if i add one 32 gb ram to this mobo vs 16+16gb ram sticks in ist and 3rd ram slot.
