Fall Beehive Inspections - Beginner Beekeeping!

  • In this video, I go watch a new beekeeper inspect his two hives for their final Fall inspection.
    I gave these hives to my friend, Rick, and introduced him to the world of Treatment Free Beekeeping.
    I will keep track of these hives on the channel, as Rick was told not to treat these hives for anything! I want to show him, and all my viewers that treatment free is an obtainable goal to reach!

    They came out of winter looking great. Added super to the Brown hive last week.

    nice video.
    Supposedly beetle traps work. They say they work. Where I'm at we don't get hive beetles though. But what I see in videos ppl say they are good. But if you've got 'feral' bees they probably don't need 'em as much.
    Either way its interesting. Bees are just fun. Even the fiesty ones.

      Beetle traps are a treatment which is why I push to not use them. I also ruined a whole frame of bees once because I spilled it into the hive. If beetles are a bad enough problem for a particular hive, then I don’t need those bees. It has never been a problem though except maybe in a dying nuc.
