I feel like that “I love you” from Alex was the wake up call Jackie needed to acknowledge that she has been lying to herself & him about her feelings.
She realized It was Cole in the flower field but then he backed off. Seeing the teapot cemented that he actually had feelings so she stopped holding back.

But he is suited better with Kiley anyway. Yeah season 2 will be messy. I just hope they focous more on the fixing the relationships. Building new ones. And they don't do the TSITP routine. You know the "flip floping" between brothers. And her ruining their relationship even more

Even though the kiss was wrong because Jackie is with Alex, I think all those feeling that they both have been trying to repress just came bubbling up to the surface and once Jackie kissed Cole they could help themselves.
In the book she does leave for the summer for NY. She also kisses Cole before she leaves, but Alex and Jackie break up before she kisses Cole. And Jackie says bye to everyone telling them that she will be back at the end of summer. Alex tells Jackie in the book that he still has feeling for Paige. So there wasn’t any cheating in the book. And since there is no second book who knows what will happen next season.

I like the end of the book better, but they wanted to add a little more spice. I hope that season 2 will live up to our expectations
About ep 9, the conversation that Jackie and Cole had was super important for them, conversations that she doesn't have with Alex and Cole indirectly said that he liked her and that totally disarmed her.🤧

And ep 10 has so many wonderful scenes that I just know how to feel. He knew the meaning of the flower scene and took Jackie there. The look on their faces looking at each other when he goes to pick up his school work, she was unable to hide her feelings. He looked at her the whole time at the wedding, declaring himself in the speech. The meaning that the teapot has for her and he repaired it carefully, even she couldn't resist. She successfully fell for the Cole effect. When Jackie read the letter saying "nothing so broken that it can be fixed" she immediately remembered that she said that to Cole, from the conversation they had at the fireplace, it was always Cole.
And the final kiss, PERFECT, wrong for Alex, but INEVITABLE. If Netflix had followed the original adaptation of the book there wouldn't be a 2nd season, because Jackie breaks up with Alex before kissing Cole. 🥹
I'm so excited for the next season. 🤧
when it ended with her on the plane.. um hold on? but I have a theory that she hasn't fully moved back to NY. I think Jackie has just gotten accepted for the summer internship because she mentioned there was an office in NY. I also think she will be back because otherwise she would not have left the teapot, the picture of her family and her other things. I love Cole and Jackie together. Their chemistry in these 2 episodes was incredible and they clearly have something super special. I also skip Danny and Erin and Kiley and Alex!

The thing is as much as I hate cheating having been a victim of it myself ... I so badly wanted her to kiss Cole that I'm not even mad 😁 and dammmn what a kiss it was... that hand placement I died. But it might just be because I was team cole since episode 1 and I'm biased 😍 but also fiction is for exactly this.. if Jackie and cole were my real life friends I would be pissed and be handing out lectures buuut the fictional aspect of it being a tv show allows you to put aside morals for a moment and just enjoy every second of that kiss and that hand placement that I will never shut up about 😋

Team Cole he has my entire ❤ but I don't want the two of them immediately get together now cuz that's the kiss of death. Season 2 needs to ship brotherly love for Alex and Cole. I want them to fix their relationship so Jackie and Cole can truly be together. It's obvious that Alex should be with Kiley anyway. I know exactly what it's like to be friend zoned like that my heart breaks for her. Alex needs to find some self worth and Cole needs something to become passionate about so he can move on from football. Love me some character growth!
ok so in the last ten minute jackie got on a plane because she thought if she stays there it will get messy between alex and cole.On the other hand deep inside she tuly loved cole and only cole she always had questions when she was with alex . cole and jackie have more chemistry. Yes Jackie was wrong for that kiss but once again….she never intended to love them both. She didn’t even know that Katharine and George had that many kids, let alone sons, let alone 2 sons who’ve had issues with each other. She’s still a teenager trying to figure out herself and what she wants.

The reason I can't get behind Alex isn't his insecurity. It's his "snaky behaviour". Cole can be a di#k, he doesn't hide that. Alex plays the "Mr.nice guy", but when things don't go his way his "dic#ish" side comes out"..that kind of behaviour is quite toxic and a huge red flag in a person.
@nelly-gu2qq thank you. I am quite tired of Alex is the nice guy or the good guy in this show. Nope, sorry he isn't. The only nice guys are Danny and Nathan. Both Cole and Alex are red flags. But, honestly so is Jackie. That's why I am team they all need therapy lol

First, as grown adult, if I had to choose a Walter brother, it would be Danny. He’s got his head on so straight, with a great heart, and no grudges. I like him and Erin, but I also wonder if it would be awkward for him to get together with his twin brother’s former main girl? Either way, he’s the only one I see as relationship ready.
If my teenage self was watching this, I’d be Team Alex. I always liked the “adorkable” types - boyishly charming, loyal, loving. Clearly though, he has some growing to do. I’d love to see him feeling happy and secure in a relationship. Would have loved to have seen him have that with Jackie, but in time I think he’ll see it wasn’t possible in the long run. You can’t maintain a solid, authentic connection while also feeling so far out of your partner’s league.
Cole. Can’t say the Cole effect ever got to me. Sure he and Jackie had cute moments but he made it clear multiple times that he isn’t capable of a committed relationship. It was heartwarming to see him getting serious about school and making amends with Alex and Erin, but that doesn’t make him boyfriend material- yet. The way he told Jackie he wanted her grossed me out. That’s your brother’s gf. Self control is sexy, not what he did. Even in a fantasy world, I can’t get behind what he did.

Jackie and Cole clearly have more chemistry. I don't know why Jackie went for Alex in the first place. She knew he was great but she always acted so neutral about him and then one day she's suddenly trying to kiss him? I think she's a logical person, and she knew that logically Alex was a smarter choice over Cole so she pushed herself into it to avoid thinking of Cole that way, which was starting to happen. But none of the three of them should be dating anyone. Jackie needs to grieve (did we even see her grieve?), Alex needs to gain self confidence that doesn't come from the high of having a girl like him, and Cole needs to find something to be passionate about instead of dating women out of boredom.

Great reaction interestingly though the ending to this season was very similar to Ginny & Georgia season 1 ending. Ginny left, Jackie also left but I actually don't know how she's gonna return in season 2.
i don't remember really well, but i think in the book the leaving part was just for the summer. so the show will probably do the similar thing. And in the end her returning won't even be big deal. Kinda like Ginny's wasn't.

By end of senior year, I was trying to be friends with the two of them for the sake of our friend group. Then, one of my biggest regrets ever, I hooked up with him after we graduated. Biggest mistake. I went to college and they got married at 20, then eventually divorced. I totally dodged a bullet.

Jackie might be a teenager but the way she plays with everyone’s emotions shows me she doesn’t really regard a lot of them. Like the outbursts every time the parents say or do something. Always trying to guilt trip people trying to help her.

That’s why Alex deserves someone better. Cole and Jackie should be together and Alex should fall for another girl who will respect and love him. Jackie never did and it most definitely showed throughout that whole series. In the book it’s super different because Alex never loved Jackie and was still in love with Paige, but dated Jackie to get back at Cole, so like who knows what will happen but I really hope Alex finds someone better for him. ☺️
