imo mika has even better voice than shu😭
I can't word it properly but I feel like Shu's 'disappointment' is more about how Mika's tone isn't as unique as the other two. Mika's voice is really good and I personally love his voice the most out of these three, but he doesn't stand out as much as the other members-his voice is pretty subtle (?) compared to Nito's high register and Shu's unique tone. It simply didn't meet the requirements for Shu's aesthetic.
@@Mzkmizu for sure, I commented that with only the perspective of the anime and I hadn't really heard enough Valkyrie yet to understand it. I think Mika's voice is very unique but it's more about his phrasing and accent than tone

Looking at the lyrics you can understand more of what Mika, Nazuna, and Shu were feeling, it sounds like they were all trapped in their own ways. Ex Valkyrie was toxic BUT THIS SONG IS SO GOOD and they're one of my favourite groups ♡

God I love this song but whenever I hear it, I just imagine how much pain Nazuna went through and how bad it was for him, Shu, and Mika to be in such a toxic group. Luckily, Nazuna was able to move on and Shu and Mika grew, and Valkyrie now is better than ever

If it weren’t for how nito was treated, past Valkyrie would’ve been my favourite group
this is gonna be a hot spicy take on shu, especially sense im an avid shuP and lover, but intentions dont mean anything. what shu did to nazuna was nothing short of abuse, on top of that he really hurt mika too. im very glad they have all made up and they got the developement they deserved, shu is so much more interesting as a character who learns from his actions rather than being just a crude hurtful guy and almost nothing more, but theres no excusing how he acted. he didnt even permit them to speak? he dehumanized them and ALMOST fetishized them. it does not matter if shu didnt mean to hurt nazuna, becuase he did. even if shu loved and praised nazuna it was very obviously uncomfortable to him. they where not good for eachother and nazuna is so much better off in Rabits
this song itself expresses this idea very well if you look into the lyrics. "seasonal compassion"? "the thing you wanted is here right?"? "piled up wounds"? its all very symbolic of how they all treated eachother to me

Shu's vocals at 2:53 (and around 2:07) always give me chills... Mika is my favorite singer of the two but when he has songs where they add that echo effect, it's so good

personally i don’t think ex valkyrie was toxic, or maybe it was but I don’t think shu manipulated nazuna in an evil way. shu is a very kind person but he struggles to express his emotions, (e.g. he helped mika with the finance issues with the orphanage secretly and even begged ibara who he disliked for him etc.) that’s y mika admires and loves him, bc he rly is very warm hearted tbh, with mika, natsume and all of his frds. However he often expresses his feelings wrong and can be verbally abusive, which he needs to fix, but I don’t think that he was manipulative, he is controlling over his work, but he didnt meant to hurt mika or nazuna and he is definitely not evil, pre sure he didn’t let nazuna sing to protect his voice, but once again he didn’t express it well.
I think ex Valkyrie’s relationship now after nazuna left is expressed better in the song 砂上ノ楼閣, nazuna shu and mika were all like dolls and were trapped, however their strings are now cut and they are more free. 刻むのはじゃない, 抱えた想いの全て (it is not scars and flaws that are carved, but all of the embraced memories) I think this lyric demonstrates the warmth of their relationship well. After all, especially after watching the handout and selfie scene in the anime, i just don’t think that ex Valkyrie is bad memories, they were just immature people that didn’t know how to love eathofher properly.

i totally agree! but that's exactly why i think it was "toxic" since they were still hurting each other unintentionally. shu never had any malicious intent and only wanted the best, to be able to showcase his "work" to the world
but because of shu failed to properly express what he feels due to his trauma and was too focused on wanting to stay the best, it's what caused his downfall- Valkyrie's downfall.
though i should probably reread the story so I can give better input....
