I’m 60 years old, and southern born and raised, and the thing I miss the most about my up bringing, is the story telling. Seriously, when I know you’re beginning to tell a story, it feels like a warm blanket. My husband is still on the fence about a tiny house, but I’m going to show him that huge one you’re doing. Randy my middle child joined the national guard at 17, worked two other jobs besides going to his junior and senior year. I told him Jon you need to take time to enjoy your life and he turned to me saying mom I don't want to be you at your age working full time job plus all your part time jobs. I want to enjoy my life at your age. Now 20 plus years later he has an awesome wife and family and enjoying his life with his beautiful family . He works full time national guard and is doing well. I still struggle and keep on trying to get a head. Randy thank you for sharing your life struggles with us and I understand the path you have walked. God plus you
Randy, you are a mentor to many! We all have been kicked down in one way or another and lost some self esteem. Sharing your story is a direct example of licking your wounds and to pick yourself up by the boot straps. Keep moving upwards and onwards no matter the pace.
Big R, it is not about aptitude. People learn different and develop at different spreed. I’m with you, I’m one of five girls and did all the right expected stuff but In comparison to my four siblings they did minimum and always got ahead. I did the right stuff and had to work twice as hard to goal. It is not the size of the mountain, it is building a mountain, keeping it and doing well at it. You are very accomplished, cut yourself some grace. You’re doing great!

I loved your college story. Same thing happened to me. I was in broadcasting and had my first time directing a news show. The crash of Savings and Loan companies had that day and we covered it, got the video back and the editor machine ate it. Had one of my people completely drop a story, but I had a back up prepared, I did everything right and went above and beyond and got an F because I ended up adding a commercial when one of the machines crashed during the show. I did learn that most businesses don't care about what all you went through, they care about the end product, and your end product at ITH is incredible!

Yes 100,000 takes a bit to achieve most commonly. I'm glad you didn't end up cookie cutter, afraid of a saw, or end up hating a hammer. You know you are exactly what you are meant to be. There is no other reason for it. You are the Bob Wells of tiny homes. You will never know how blessed and happy people are because of you. Giving people hope, direction, a reason to not give up. Just hope alone is live changing. We can't measure success next to another man's. But you can by the impact of gratitude you have created in others.

I bought a shed. But it was built 16" on center with 8 ft walls. I reframed headers and added my own house windows. Setup a 24 volt solar setup. 200 sq ft and im still under 20k. I do wish I had know about this before I started it. Lol. Would have saved me a lot of time.
@@Roobah nope. They brought it and set it up on blocks. Trailer would have added more to it. I'll have about 15 in it when I'm done. And be off grid. It eould be nice if it was small.enough to move myself. But I dont plan on moving it a lot.

WHOA, that one loft is huge in that Highland home! I could throw all the grandkiddos up there...jeepers creepers, I could lose em all! That back lofts eyebrow is a darlin window...I make that their readin window with a comfy cool low chaise and their tye dye Corduroy bean bag chair...its perfect.

I bought a shed. But it was built 16" on center with 8 ft walls. I reframed headers and added my own house windows. Setup a 24 volt solar setup. 200 sq ft and im still under 20k. I do wish I had know about this before I started it. Lol. Would have saved me a lot of time.
@@Roobah nope. They brought it and set it up on blocks. Trailer would have added more to it. I'll have about 15 in it when I'm done. And be off grid. It eould be nice if it was small.enough to move myself. But I dont plan on moving it a lot.

My parents had all girls, and my sister had all girls. When we all get together the women never stop talking and laughing, having a great time!
