They work really hard and even tho I'm kinda jealous I'm still very happy that they can afford things like that. They totally deserve it. Not to mention that in Mitch's case fashion is the thing that he is probably the most passionate about besides music. Again, I'm very happy for them (and jealous, this sweater is so cute!)

If I'm honest, it kinda makes me sad to see them reacting so negatively to their sing off performances. I know that its always different to hear yourself and you're always your own worst critics, but I've been with them since the beginning watching their first performance and it's where I fell in love with them. Every time I'm feeling upset Ill go back and watch them on the sing off and get that happy nostalgia. This video makes it seem like they've changed so much that they're different people entirely and just making fun of the way they used to be, but thats why I fell in love with their group. I know that mitch was faking being straight and everything so he is really himself (herself?) now, but idk it just made me a bit sad to see them so negative about the performances that captured my fascination with them and really got them noticed and loved by so many people. Maybe I'm just a weirdo who spends too much time in the past watching their old sing off videos though.
Mitch wasn't actually faking being straight - he was out, and had been for a while. They chose the Trevor Project as their Sing Off charity, ffs! The Sing Off's network insisted on a "straight" edit of the group, because the show was supposed to have a "family" audience, and there were Christian a cappella groups featured. The Advocate complained about this at the time: there was no mention of the fact that the Trevor Project was created to prevent suicide in lgbt youth - instead, on the Sing Off, the network edited the discussion to be about PTX's teenage history of having been bullied for being Jewish (Avi), really tall (Scott), or having a high-pitched speaking voice (Mitch) - without ever mentioning the fact that 2/5 of the group were gay, and out in high school.
What makes you say Mitch was pretending to be straight? By the time I was 20 seconds into the first performance I was saying, "Oh yeah, he's definitely gay!" I love the fact that they didn't make a big deal out of the differences between them....it makes it seem like who cares, it's about the music!
I literally still return to this video 4 years later because it still makes me laugh so hard. I remember watching the show and rooting for you, years and years ago at this point!! The commentary here just kills me though. "THE HAT, girl, who put that on me"
This video made me feel so proud! I love you both so much and you've all come SO far! Can't wait til next year's Grammy's where you win every award instead of just one! :D

Because I think they're a lot of people (mostly teenagers) who are sad a lot but don't know if it's a depression. I'm struggling with it myself, depression is probably in my DNA my dad and my granddad are suffering from it. I'm also really sad sometimes but I'm not sure if it is a depression. I think I'm not only one struggling with a problem like this so maybe you could talk about that?

If I'm honest, it kinda makes me sad to see them reacting so negatively to their sing off performances. I know that its always different to hear yourself and you're always your own worst critics, but I've been with them since the beginning watching their first performance and it's where I fell in love with them. Every time I'm feeling upset Ill go back and watch them on the sing off and get that happy nostalgia. This video makes it seem like they've changed so much that they're different people entirely and just making fun of the way they used to be, but thats why I fell in love with their group. I know that mitch was faking being straight and everything so he is really himself (herself?) now, but idk it just made me a bit sad to see them so negative about the performances that captured my fascination with them and really got them noticed and loved by so many people. Maybe I'm just a weirdo who spends too much time in the past watching their old sing off videos though.
Mitch wasn't actually faking being straight - he was out, and had been for a while. They chose the Trevor Project as their Sing Off charity, ffs! The Sing Off's network insisted on a "straight" edit of the group, because the show was supposed to have a "family" audience, and there were Christian a cappella groups featured.
The Advocate complained about this at the time: there was no mention of the fact that the Trevor Project was created to prevent suicide in lgbt youth - instead, on the Sing Off, the network edited the discussion to be about PTX's teenage history of having been bullied for being Jewish (Avi), really tall (Scott), or having a high-pitched speaking voice (Mitch) - without ever mentioning the fact that 2/5 of the group were gay, and out in high school.
What makes you say Mitch was pretending to be straight? By the time I was 20 seconds into the first performance I was saying, "Oh yeah, he's definitely gay!" I love the fact that they didn't make a big deal out of the differences between them....it makes it seem like who cares, it's about the music!
I literally still return to this video 4 years later because it still makes me laugh so hard. I remember watching the show and rooting for you, years and years ago at this point!! The commentary here just kills me though. "THE HAT, girl, who put that on me"
This video made me feel so proud! I love you both so much and you've all come SO far! Can't wait til next year's Grammy's where you win every award instead of just one! :D

Alexa Martinez I think it was because it was their 2nd performance and their first intense remix of a song, and the judges weren't used to it lol. For me it was the performance that defined their genre, a cappella techno-pop remixy goodness :)
