I now don't trust forests with this sound. Who knows when there's a girl trolling around with a cleaver. Or a long no face guy in suit also trolling. But this was a very beautiful sound.

I love the Cicada songs.
I remember hearing them back when I lived in Mexico and went to Middle school. I loved collecting their empty shells and hearing them sing to their heart’s content.

It sounds kinda like when you're leaving school to go home haha (reference to anime) but if you think about the name of the anime (When the higurashi Cicadas cry or When they cry) and think about the story it gives you a really sad feeling, nobody's happy in there, they're all crying inside :'(

***** You got it the wrong way, I was talking about the name of the anime not the cicadas, they actually make me feel a little nostalgic like when I used to walk home from school in a fall day, but I don't find the sound sad, nostalgic and sad are different things, and the name of the anime is called when they cry or when the higurashi cicadas cry, so it makes me feel sad the name of the anime, that it sounds like the characters are crying inside, but not the cicadas xD

Thats so cool. Was recently watching Higurashi, and kept hearing that sound. Ny first thought was that it couldnt be a cicada, as im used to thr ones we have around here, with their high pitched undulating hissing sound.😊

Ahh, I love the sound of cicadas soooo much. Koizora was the one drama where I noticed the sound of cicadas and from then on I wondered what bug was making that sound and later on I found out it was cicadas. 5 Centimeters Per Second and a lot of Japanese dramas have made me appreciate cicadas and I'm very thankful. Very interesting video! We have cicadas here in Indiana as well but they sound nothing like this.
