- One day in 2011 I heard some of the most joyful music, while drawing the great cornetist Warren Vache' for a commission. I was inspired to create a slideshow combining my drawings and photos with that music. -Melissa Gilstrap
Larry McKenna - tenor saxophone
Warren Vaché - cornet
Dan Monaghan - drums
Pete Smyser - guitar
Steve Beskrone - bass

What a great combination! Beautiful rendition of this time honored classic! Kudos ya'll!
I've been knowing Larry since I was 15, it's been 50 years. Always admired and respected him. I also respect the rest of these Philly guys. Warren V is also a musician worthy of the upmost respect.
Wow that tenor is amazing! Of course the band is outstanding Im just a tenor guy!
At times the great Larry McKenna sounds almost exactly like Bird on tenor!
Wonderful musicianship and great solos!! Bravo!!!
Larry et Warren,2 des plus grands musiciens des 50 dernières années
Sensational!. Who would not have loved to be in attendance for this performance?
OK……..maybe that one guy with Van Gogh’s ear for music, the one you provided the Thumbs Down.
DUH!
a swinging version ! bravo !
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Yeah Warren!!
Warren has done his homework definitely! Knows that ARBAN is the basis for any good trumpet player, classic or jazz.
from what i understand he’s actually more of a clarke fanatic!
It makes me want to go draw in some club.
Beautiful artwork, Melissa!
Thanks so much, Pam!
