*==== 3.14 UPDATES ====* Due to increased mana reservation for Flesh and Stone aura, we now need an *Enlighten support* of level 2+ linked with the auras. dont think fanatisicism works properly on pob, if you manually add 75% cast speed on some item, its actually more dps than getting the old ascendacy nodes
Put Shield Charde instead of Flame Dash, and than you can use Virtue and Zeal ascendancy points. On boss use 4 time shield Charge than you have 7.7M Dps on sirus with Fanaticism.
I play on console and don't have a PC to access POB so I want to thank you for going over the skill tree in the video. Most content creators just post pob link and I don't have access to it.
i have been struggling with finding rare gear and your note in pob helped me out so much, i can't express how much i appreciate the work and effort you put in to these build, keep going dude, thank alot!
Thanks for another great build! Had to get used to the mechanics of CL at the beginning but now that i got the hang of it im loving the synergy between the intensity stacks and the consecrated ground from the ascendancy.
writing as of about 2 days before 3.13 drops, i will be attempting this as my league starter build. let us all see how well this works for a (relatively) new player edit log: my current take on crackling lance: pretty good clear and single target (much the same way one can achieve both with blood/sand lacerate) if there is one single problem i have, its that monsters in your face may not always be hit. below is a documentation of my 3.13 league starting experience using this build: *captain's log, day 1:* about 24 more hours until league starts *captain's log, day 2:* levelling act 1 has been uneventful but smooth so far. rituals are fun and pretty rewarding. the passive skill tree presented above is easy to follow and so far very functional *captain's log, day 3:* crackling lance is a pretty fun skill so far, although it does not fare well against anything up in your face if its not at max intensity. area clear at 0 intensity and single target and full intensity are both admirable. so far so good with levelling, about to fight malachai as of this writing. had no major problems other than dying once to a foul ritual in koam's dream. gear efficacy has not been a problem yet. addendum: as of this writing, i have killed malachai and innocence. the single target dps on this was beyond my wildest expectations and far exceeded any divine ire build i've played. mana consumption around level 40 is a bit annoying, though, and i can only use one of wrath or zealotry atm. *captain's log, day 4:* got into part 2. mana is really becoming an annoyance now that i have most of the gems socketed. even though i only have 1 active aura, mana is still tight and flasking is a major annoyance in the middle of intense rituals. the cwdt links have been helpful though, and i almost wish i had specced into the dps part of this tree segment instead of life. *captain's log, day 5:* now that most of the important gem links are in place, i have experienced a massive dps power spike. increasing critical strike using part three of tree guide. smooth sailing so far. the only discriminating requirements on gear have been resistances and sockets, both of which have been a little troublesome to wrangle but nothing seriously difficult, great for newer players. defenses are sufficient, even excessive, given that most of this build is zooming around. this power spike in general has been pivotal in holding my attention, since the build was becoming just a little bit boring. also, as some may know, ggg servers are half broken right now, so the double cwdt links have saved my ass numerous times when i dipped below 1fps. *captain's log, day 6:* i have been running into some problems as of late, namely getting the socket colors on my gear right. i am unable to use frost barrier and sigil of power, which are admittedly less important but still helpful with the stationery part of combat. i have also been unable to link second wind to flamedash yet, which makes clearing so much slower. another problem at the current moment: although area clear of this build is pretty good, it struggles with the swarms that often appear in ritual, which tend to get a little close. the most effective way to deal with this is to stand in a corner and laser everything, repositioning only when overwhelmed. server problems have not been forgiving either, which may be influencing my perception of the efficacy of this build *captain's log: day 7:* taking a break due to server issues, working up to solaris lunaris fight *captain's log: day 8:* i have noticed a sharp decline in my dps as i enter act 9. it is most likely because my gear is slightly misfit and my attacks can no longer two-shot white monsters (single cast), drastically increasing clear time by requiring an extra cast. *captain's log: day 9, 10, 11:* taking a break due to servers and irl stuff *captain's log: day 12:* i have begun mapping. so far so good. i have gotten used to not using sigil of power and frost shield because of links. im using vaal impurity of lightning as a bootleg penetration support *captain's log: day 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19:* busy irl. this build generally does decently well with mapping, but suffers greatly from any kind of lag. does surprisingly well in ritual if you can find some cover, since standing and spamming a laser is an effective option that doesn't require good technical performance. would be a lot more enjoyable if i could actually play the game though *captain's log: day 20:* bought and crafted a 4-link Inpulsa's Broken Heart for 7 chaos, 1 alch, 19 jeweler's, 23 chromatic, and 3 fusings. aoe clear (ironically the weakness of this build) has been greatly buffed. the damage more than makes up for the slight increase in vulnerability by helping you eliminate packs up to thrice as fast as before, possibly more with better player skill and compute performance *captain's log: day 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26:* trading and gathering resources. undergoing metamorphosis. *captain's log: day 27:* initial metamorphosis complete. obtained devouring diadem and 5-linked inpulsa's broken heart (at less than 150 fusings!) can now run all 3 intended auras. functioning much more smoothly than before *end initial test log_**___________________________________________* *additional notes:* *3/9/21:* i have not been keeping up with the records above due to a lack of meaningful progress. today, however, I made a great leap forward. First, I scraped a doryani's catalyst scepter off of a rich player who was throwing it away, massively increasing my poor dps. even though the item itself isn't super awesome, it's cheap for its power. Second, I bought and 6 linked another cheap inpulsa base using fated connections (2.4 ex for prophecy, 5 for new base, few hundred chrome for socket colors). Third, I finally bought a wise oak flask and realized that my resistances were absolutely overboard. Fourth, I jammed a pretty good random drop eye jewel into a random drop stygian vise that was, by itself, better than my current leather belt. Overall, I can now comfortably do red tier maps without playing cautiously. Note that all the investment made was done using raw exalt drops since I don't have premium tabs or time. if I can get this far without trading for money, just about any player can. overall scaling to red tier maps cost me less than 4 ex, with an initial 1 ex worth of investment to get through yellow maps and an additional 2.5 to get up to speed with red maps. all costs before this were negligible. *7/5/2021:* i replaced flesh and stone with arctic armor due to the reservation nerf. *7/17/2021:* obtained apex mode and nadir mode jewels. not as good as anticipated. *7/18/2021:* I have gotten to level 91, obtained 3/4 shaper guardian fragments, 1 eradicator elder fragment, defeated all four conquerors at awakening level 5, and gotten obliterated by sirus with no watchstones socketed. overall, if you are a more skilled player (can farm currency, can trade, uses loot filter, uses PoB, has premium tabs, has reflexes, doesn't have fucked up wrist), have a better pc than i (asus zenbook), and have more time than i (fairly casual) you can reasonably get to and probably past sirus-level content, although the stationary nature of this build makes it challenging to deal with some boss content. final verdict: solid league starter, can handle most of the game with below-median maintenance. bossing can potentially be challenging. i often find myself using brand as much as crack lance simply because of the importance of mobility. without some investment, squeezing out the power for endgame can be difficult. would recommend based solely on interest in the unique playstyle of crackling lance. NOT suitable for people who do not like the skill. NOT comparable to arc builds. that concludes my documentation of my experience with the build. final addendum: patch 3.15 invalidates this build and the entirety of my review. do not play this build as of patch 3.15
I've done this build couple months. back. Its FANTASTIC as a start cause it has the horsepower to kill on budget gear on the way up, yet scales very well as you grow through yellow n red maps. This is a solid build with guide support. Also good to challenge yourself with the style n cadence of gameplay. Great luck, hioe you enjoy it.
I am definitely going to use one of your build guides. As a new player, adding the PoE trade links to get gear searches is VERY helpful in understanding the potential cost in the build. Thank you I know that took a lot of work to add.
Glad you found those helpful! I know the trade site can be confusing at times, especially with so many filter options sounding very similar. So I figured the trade links can be a great starting point and people can tweak or extrapolate from them and adapt to their current character needs and budget 👍
Really solid build guide. I started this league with a crackling lance inquisitor and even though I do some key things different I still learned a lot of usefull things from this guide that I will probably apply to my own build in some capacity.
This build saved me form an awful Blade Blast build. The POB is super well done, with even the links to search for the perfect items. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!
Very well written build guide. Would appreciate if you can make some video dedicated to the mechanics of this build; I mainly play melee, so I'm not familiar with the good stuff for casters. Subscribed. I'll be checking out your other videos, you explain well man.
Hey Navandis! I started this league a few days ago, and was looking for something new and exciting to play. This build has been both fun and exciting, while still performing. Thanks for posting! I do, however, wish crackling lance had MTX already lol.
Really glad you enjoy it! I'm pretty sure we'll have some MTX for CL soon enough, even though you have to admit that even the base effect is not too bad either. Especially the sound part feels very meaty and impactful 💪
Coming back to update everyone: Finally finished acts and started mapping. I got the BiS helm and it completely changed my gameplay.....DO NOT go without the helm, you want that very badly just to add even more importance. Also using a tabula rasa, 3ex +1 all spell +lightning modifiers increased effect wand, shit low lvl rares every other slot with crafted res. This is the most powerful i have ever felt on a starter build, high apm but just super satisfying. I admit it has a large learning curve, comparatively. GREAT BUILD! Play this!
Man you are awesome! Very good at making guides and explaining everything! Already tried your Double Strike Champion and Tectonic Slam Chieftain. Both epic! Thanks for everything!

I love your guides! Have you ever thought about a video on how to come up with custom builds? It would help a lot of people like me who want to try a little somthing of their own but not sure what number to aim for or how many different layers of defense.
Lvl 81 in the build atm. Here's my experience with this CL Inquisitor: - Campaign felt amazing 👏 Very smooth but by maps... -You'll find yourself exploding in Rituals (even in T1) if you don't have blood and sand (for blinding enemies) and without the lightning dmg leeched as life... - Which means you'll need the Devouring Diadem and a good Amulet. -However these will be fixed with Inpulsa's and the former two. -I recommend dropping a decoy totem in Rituals so that you'll be able to stack up intensity stacks GlHF~
is pretty good so far. i've been using it and have chronicled my experiences so far in a comment above, particularly with what to expect (from the perspective of a newish player). so far, so fun(ctional)
Yeah, looking at Inquisitor changes we lose a bit of cast speed and crit multi, but gain a shitton of crit chance, so DPS-wise it's more or les the same. However, during the reveal they specifically said CL will be buffed, so I'm quite positive the build will be even better in 3.13 😁
@@NavandisGaming Oh I'd love to see it perform even better, and the new ascendancy passives seem awesome, especially the new Inevitable Judgement, so stacking crit will make it go BOOM :D
algor mortis gloves should be the best in slot gloves for this build ( 35% increased lightnign dmg taken from enemys in your chilled grounds-> frost shield)
For the CL skill itself, none. Other than that, the char had these MTX on: Master Spellblade set, Sunrise Cloak, Spellblade char effect, Arcane Hollow + Synthesis crown head gear, Monolith + Betrayal Aura effects, Nightfall Cloud pets.
I'm not understanding how mana would be a good stat to get, as you say around 19:03. Wouldn't it be useless, as you have it all reserved? Maybe i'm not understanding the mechanic.
Inevitable Judgement doesn't do what most people think it does - ignoring resistances doesn't mean the target has no resistance, it means it has 0% resistance. It's a huge difference and the misunderstanding generally comes from forgetting about the concept of negative resistances, or the fact that there's no lower limit on resistances (which automatically means with Inevitable Judgement you would deal infinite damage if it worked as most players assume it does) As such this passive is a net DPS loss if you have any means of reducing enemies resistances below 0% (exposure, curses) or as result of resistance penetration. As a reference, A8 Sirus has 50% elemental resistance, so it's actually really easy to bring even the toughest targets below 0%. And even if you wouldn't bring a target's resistance all the way below 0%, the closer you get to that, the less valuable IJ becomes, to the point that Augury of Penitence overtakes it (without even taking into account the excellent defensive bonus it provides) As for cluster jewels - they would bring minimal extra damage/utility for a big investment. Not worth it.
Love the fact that the same skill can be clear AND boss damage. Just a question ... you mention that it is an "involved" play style. I've been playing PoE for a few years now, but I'm "casual-ish", so while I make it to end game most of the time I'm not really great at Sirus / Elder etc. fights .. I'm usually just trying to farm up currency to improve my build as best I can. Maybe some light crafting thrown in (and I'm amazed at all the people who know 90% of this game inside out, I mean, it's pretty complicated!). Anyway ... I'm still not settled on my starter and this is on the short-list. Could you maybe say a few words on how to get the best out of the skill? I mean (flasks aside), is it "involved" because sometimes you quickly cast, other times you have to channel, and you're making that deicison based on (e.g.) there's a yellow mob, channel a fraction longer? Or .. does it (also) need to get the positioning right, and it's (also) a "cast and move fast" build? Any words/assistance appreciated (from Navandis, or anyone else who played this last league). Ta.
Seems like a good build for the endless delve event, think i will give it a try, and for once not use your otherwise awesome skelemancer build. Thanks!
Thanks for the build! I may have missed this in the video, but before I can afford/find a Devouring Diadem, would you recommend speccing into Eldrich Battery so I can use both Zealotry and Wrath, as well as Mind Over Matter? EDIT: Nevermind, found where you mention it! Thank you!
Hey man, super well-made guide! Quick question though, why are som skill gems - like Wave of Conviction - kept at 0% quality? I understand not bothering with your buffs for example, but I can't see the reason for keeping stuff like CWDT's or WoC on 0, what am I missing? Looking forward to more awesome videos dude!
Well, what does the quality actually provide on those gems? Let's take CWDT: "Supported Skills deal 10% increased Damage". Okay, that would make your WoC go from something like 24k to 26.5k damage. When your CL's DPS is over 7 million, is that minuscule damage increase worth 20 GCPs (aka 20 chaos orbs)? Same for WoC gem quality. If I'm not listing quality for a gem it means the bonus would be useless or inconsequential.
Well, everything is actually explained in the guide so I'm thinking you just imported the POB without watching the vid. You use Devouring Diadem which reduces the mana reservation cost for gems socketed it in and provides Eldritch Battery keystone. Your mana will be exactly 0 and you'll use energy shield to cast everything instead.
@@NavandisGaming Hey thank you for the response, i actually did watch the vid (and i enjoyed it, great Build). And just after posting this comment i realised my mistake about Devouring Diadem and EB things and i'm sorry about this i didn't mind to bother you. So do i need to have a level 4 enlighten if i want to run the 3 aura ? (Sorry for my bad english btw)
@@toad_ Sorry man, that was not a nice thing for me to say. The video is long, lots of info packed in, things are easy to miss. It's totally normal. So, nope, there's no need for an Enlighten gem. You can drop Zealotry until you get the diadem so you can have enough mana to cast stuff. Probably will need an Enduring mana flask as well
@@NavandisGaming It's all good, thank your for your time and your answers. I still can't choose between this one and the arc witch for tomorrow. Hope you'll have a good League start !
hey navadis , very nice video and build, i am doing it now and is brilliant for heist, atm i got holy flame totem as my secondary skills, have you thought of holy flame totem with flame wall?
Nothing beats firing a giant canon beam through Heist doorways 😁. I am tinkering with a Holy Flame totem + Flame Wall build idea, but it's more a concept atm, nothing yet finalized. As for adding such a setup in this build, I'm not sure it's worth it or what it brings to the table. There aren't really any fluff or filler gems in this build, so replacing anything would be a DPS or defense loss 🤔
Just switched from console to pc a few days ago and started a cr Lance build as it looked like a cool spell. Didn’t find a guide but muddling my way through and very happy that most of my choices so far (level 60) close to your recommendations - a timely and informative guide! Play on pc takes getting used to, many pros and cons vs console, once I overcome my teething I think this build will whale.... One question : i am using orb of storms to apply conductivity, and also herald of thunder just to get more lightning out there. Also arcane cloak on CWDT but I think I like your options better. Any comment on these? Yes to low cost! Using very low end gear atm, maybe spent 10co total. 5 link on the body, but still op at these levels.
IMO Orb of Storms is inferior to Storm Brand as it's fixed and created where you stand, forcing you to cast it multiple times to achieve the same result as Storm Brand which will re-attach itself to targets and can be cast at range. Damage-wise Herald of Thunder is not amazing; while it does add up some, later in game you'll definitely need more defense which is why I opted for Flesh and Stone. Arcane Cloak is decent as a low-level trigger, but keep in mind it will share cooldowns with other guard skills such as Steelskin. Personally, I'd much rather go with a high level guard skill for the damage absorption than a bit of extra DPS from Arcane Cloak. If you were to push Arcane Cloak to max level then you'd run into bigger issues such as mana sustain and not using auras to free up your mana pool. In the end, Arcane Cloak just doesn't fit the build the way it's designed now. It generally only really works with mana-dedicated builds, with 4-5k+ mana pools and no auras apart from Clarity.
@@NavandisGaming many thanks! I have also been running Storm Brand, but never having run a brand before was hard to see it's effect (orb is more 'in your face'). I will push the build in yr direction as recommended -- all new to me, and still in the Acts so wide open and easy to change. Everything is so cheap on PC! (prices on console typically 3x or worse) Using Arcane Cloak on console with my lvl 90 mana stacking fireball trickster, so that was some bias creeping in... For tree, do you recommend any cluster jewels as alternatives?
This league is literally sh*tting currency on everyone, so 1 EX is nothing. You will find 1 EX in Ritual shops every 30-40 maps or so, once you're actually going higher than T10 maps. You also have Harvest to help you craft and "lightning" recipes are incredibly common there.
I have a two questions: first why not use orb of storm instead of storm brand? Seems like it would work better with the stationary play style and also would proc when using crack lance. Second question, shouldn't wave of conviction be linked to light to Phys gem? And I think a trigger wand would be better than cwdt
Is it good to spec into Eldritch Battery until you get the diadem? So that you can at least run Wrath + Zealotry (without flesh & stone) and not have mana issues. I'm lvl 70 so far and its going super smooth!
Hey thanks for the video this is awesome. I'm still a noob to poe and wondering which bandit I should help for this build in act II. Should I kill them all for the extra 2 passives?
@Navandis Gaming hello there! First, i want to mention that i used yur build to level this caracter to maps and it was a breeze even tho i felt on the squishy side (resist capped, but ima beginner so i might missed good gear / experience.. ) but i made it to mid tier map before switching to an other caracter because i died to much... What if this time i make it work in the next league.. i think our armor, Inpulsa's Broken Heart can do good things for us since the explode chest got nerfed a bit... I just wanted to ask if you see this build in the upcoming expansion 3.14. Do you think it can sustain high wave of the Ultimatum Challenge? How far can i go in maps with such build without investing much into it? Thnx for all those answer :)
We really don't know much about how hard Ultimatum will be in the final waves, so I don't want to speculate on that. However, I did league start with this build and smashed all the content in Heist league including the Heist bosses and high tier Heist blueprints/contracts. I also had zero issues farming T16 maps and killing most of the end-game bosses we had available at that time. The build can definitely handle most stuff you'll throw at it - it's just a matter of upgrading the gear, getting more familiar with the playstyle and understanding the various encounters, like what's dangerous or lethal or what can be easily tanked. Lastly, I'm fairly certain the build will be untouched in 3.14 - it wasn't particularly OP or meta-defining, so it's not on GGG's nerf radar 😁
Hello! Thank you for the guide! One question. Why don't we take the Inevitable Judgement ascendancy node? It seems almost mandatory for a crit Inquisitor.
And even if you wouldn't bring a target's resistance all the way below 0%, the closer you get to that, the less valuable IJ becomes, to the point that Augury of Penitence overtakes it (without even taking into account the excellent defensive bonus it provides)
@@NavandisGaming Thank you so much for taking the time to explain in such detail! I was definitely wrong about how Inevitable Judgement works. I'm starting this build today.
@@NavandisGaming Sorry to bother you, I have a few questions regarding the Watcher's Eye jewel. Is the Zealotry mod "gain Arcane Surge when you create consecrated ground" inferior to mods like "increased crit strikes against enemies on consecrated ground" or "critical strikes penetrate enemy elemental resistance"? When it comes to the Wrath mod is penetration better than increased lightning damage?
The Arcane Surge mod is by far the strongest, the rest greatly depend on your existing gear/stats. For example, if you're already sitting at 90%+ crit chance, getting some extra will likely have less value than pen. Vice-versa applies as well. I suggest importing your char in POB, checking all the appropriate configuration options and then importing different Watcher's Eye jewels you can afford and see which one provides the most DPS.
Hey Navandis I been following the guide and its good so far but I didnt get it how does mind over matter keystone works since all our mana is reserved, does the reserved mana take the damage instead?
I think we would need to stack up quite a bit to make that new bit really valuable. However, you do get about 200-220 STR organically (including the +50) so you actually get a really big chunk of crit chance from that either way. In addition, even without intentional stacking, you will get a few items here and there that will have extra STR that will just be MUCH more valuable now. I mean, let's say you're shopping for a ring, and normally you'd look at a Diamond base to get some crit. But now every other base implicit is worth picking now if you get a 30-40 STR prefix. Or you could end up with 70-75% crit rings. So, tl;dr: yes and no. No, for absolute stacking and focus, Yes for considering +1 STR = +1% crit so give it the proper value when looking for upgrades.
Howdy! I'm currently playing this build and I have a quick question. Is there an order of importance when it comes to upgrades? like, impulsa's or diadem first for instance. Also, would a 5 link impulsa's be ok or should I just save for a 6 link?
Yeah, it's a good option, it's just a pain in the butt to recover the life/ES cost. I generally don't bother with it but it can be a good buff button to press in tougher boss fights
DD really does solve all your mana issues and allows you to use it all up for auras, it's a really one of a kind item and a great upgrade to the build. Until then, use an Enduring eternal mana flask, it should keep you topped off without any issues
It is up to date, your POB client likely isn't. Make sure you use the community fork POB, linked in the video description: github.com/PathOfBuildingCommunity/PathOfBuilding/releases
I like to know how can you use both Zealatory and Wrath, becos they both reserve 50%mana how do you use them. Pls help Am building this build as of now
Hey man I just started Poe and wanted to make a lighting mage and this skill seems awesome though how are you supposed to get this skill (I litterally started today) as I checked in the wiki its not sold by any vendor
You obtain it in Act 3, after completing the quest "Sever the right hand". I believe it will be part of the quest reward for the Templar, but otherwise it should be sold by Clarissa in that act, after completing the quest.
Unfortunately the Intensity mechanic doesn't work with totems/traps/mines and without Intensity the skill is almost worthless. While there won't be a noticeable difference early on (e.g. during the campaign) as you likely didn't yet get access to most Intensity-related stuff, once you do get to the Atlas a totems+CL setup will fall off badly
Hello, love your guides! I decided to give this a shot but by act 4 I’ve completely fallen off damage wise... any ideas to fix this? If not this build is just dead in the water :(
I'm explaining it in the guide: you use Devouring Diadem helmet which a) reduces mana reservation cost of auras socketed in it, and b) allows you to cast spells spending energy shield first (Eldritch Battery keystone). Until you get it, you can either use a single aura (Wrath) or spec into Eldritch Battery on the passive tree, then remove it when you have the helmet
Just a minor change, due to Flesh and Stone's increased mana reservation we need to add an Enlighten support of level 2+ and link it with auras. I've updated the POB with this change
Will be just fine, the DPS is more or less in the same place: lost a bit of cast speed and some crit multi but gained a shitton of crit chance. Pair that with the major CL buffs and you get a stronger build than in 3.13 😎
@@NavandisGaming Thanks, I had figured it out in the meantime - must have missed that line when I first read through it. Really enjoying the build thus far! Just went back to Wraeclast with Sin and up until now it has been a breeze.
Absolutely, CL got quite seriously buffed so the build actually ends up with more DPS than in 3.12. Apart from that not much changed, we still pick the same passives and ascendancy nodes 👍
@@Steelx17 The first stage will work, it won't gain extra stages however. Still, even so it's a pretty good damage buff for a single button press, so I feel it's worth it
You probably missed the part where the same passive now causes life regen to also restore energy shield. And the build has close to 4-500 life regen, meaning we actually get double the ES restoration than previously 😉
Inevitable Judgment doesn't mean "crit penetration" or anything like that. It means the enemies have exactly zero resistance. Nothing more, nothing less. However the concept of negative resistance exists in POE and that's what most people tend to forget when looking at Inevitable Judgement. So, for any build where you can lower an enemy's resistance below 0, Inevitable Judgment is literally a DPS loss. And even before going below 0, the closer you get to that, the less value IJ has. And just to put things in perspective, Sirus A8 has 50% elemental resistance. Lightning penetration support is 37%, Wave of Conviction exposure is 25, so he's already at -12%. Thus taking IJ would be a) minus DPS, b) a waste of 2 ascendancy points that you can use somewhere else (Augury of Penitence) and get some actual damage in return.
*==== 3.14 UPDATES ====*
Due to increased mana reservation for Flesh and Stone aura, we now need an *Enlighten support* of level 2+ linked with the auras. Steelskin is replaces Blade Blast in CWDT2 setup, but it won't be triggered by it, you still use it on left mouse button 👍

What about the Instruments of Zeal node for the ascendancy? that's 75% and aoe and 75% reduced mana cost?
dont think fanatisicism works properly on pob, if you manually add 75% cast speed on some item, its actually more dps than getting the old ascendacy nodes
Do you think if I ever want to use fanatism and battlemage, should I go with rebuke of the vaal with smite or Doomfletch prism with lightning arrow?
Put Shield Charde instead of Flame Dash, and than you can use Virtue and Zeal ascendancy points. On boss use 4 time shield Charge than you have 7.7M Dps on sirus with Fanaticism.
Thank you very much.
I play on console and don't have a PC to access POB so I want to thank you for going over the skill tree in the video. Most content creators just post pob link and I don't have access to it.
If you have an android phone, get the app POEMate, it allows you to paste the pob data and view the skill tree on phone if needed
i have been struggling with finding rare gear and your note in pob helped me out so much, i can't express how much i appreciate the work and effort you put in to these build, keep going dude, thank alot!
How am I just now discovering this PoE Wizard? The force is strong with this one!

Me: I AM ONCE AGAIN ASKING FOR YOUR LEAGUE STARTER, NAVANDIS. Navandis: i gotchu homie.
Inquisitor is life. I play this guy damn near every league
Thanks for another great build! Had to get used to the mechanics of CL at the beginning but now that i got the hang of it im loving the synergy between the intensity stacks and the consecrated ground from the ascendancy.
writing as of about 2 days before 3.13 drops, i will be attempting this as my league starter build. let us all see how well this works for a (relatively) new player
edit log:
my current take on crackling lance: pretty good clear and single target (much the same way one can achieve both with blood/sand lacerate) if there is one single problem i have, its that monsters in your face may not always be hit.
below is a documentation of my 3.13 league starting experience using this build:
*captain's log, day 1:* about 24 more hours until league starts
*captain's log, day 2:* levelling act 1 has been uneventful but smooth so far. rituals are fun and pretty rewarding. the passive skill tree presented above is easy to follow and so far very functional
*captain's log, day 3:* crackling lance is a pretty fun skill so far, although it does not fare well against anything up in your face if its not at max intensity. area clear at 0 intensity and single target and full intensity are both admirable. so far so good with levelling, about to fight malachai as of this writing. had no major problems other than dying once to a foul ritual in koam's dream. gear efficacy has not been a problem yet. addendum: as of this writing, i have killed malachai and innocence. the single target dps on this was beyond my wildest expectations and far exceeded any divine ire build i've played. mana consumption around level 40 is a bit annoying, though, and i can only use one of wrath or zealotry atm.
*captain's log, day 6:* i have been running into some problems as of late, namely getting the socket colors on my gear right. i am unable to use frost barrier and sigil of power, which are admittedly less important but still helpful with the stationery part of combat. i have also been unable to link second wind to flamedash yet, which makes clearing so much slower. another problem at the current moment: although area clear of this build is pretty good, it struggles with the swarms that often appear in ritual, which tend to get a little close. the most effective way to deal with this is to stand in a corner and laser everything, repositioning only when overwhelmed. server problems have not been forgiving either, which may be influencing my perception of the efficacy of this build
*captain's log: day 7:* taking a break due to server issues, working up to solaris lunaris fight
*captain's log: day 8:* i have noticed a sharp decline in my dps as i enter act 9. it is most likely because my gear is slightly misfit and my attacks can no longer two-shot white monsters (single cast), drastically increasing clear time by requiring an extra cast.
*captain's log: day 9, 10, 11:* taking a break due to servers and irl stuff
*captain's log: day 12:* i have begun mapping. so far so good. i have gotten used to not using sigil of power and frost shield because of links. im using vaal impurity of lightning as a bootleg penetration support
*captain's log: day 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19:* busy irl. this build generally does decently well with mapping, but suffers greatly from any kind of lag. does surprisingly well in ritual if you can find some cover, since standing and spamming a laser is an effective option that doesn't require good technical performance. would be a lot more enjoyable if i could actually play the game though
*captain's log: day 20:* bought and crafted a 4-link Inpulsa's Broken Heart for 7 chaos, 1 alch, 19 jeweler's, 23 chromatic, and 3 fusings. aoe clear (ironically the weakness of this build) has been greatly buffed. the damage more than makes up for the slight increase in vulnerability by helping you eliminate packs up to thrice as fast as before, possibly more with better player skill and compute performance
*captain's log: day 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26:* trading and gathering resources. undergoing metamorphosis.
*captain's log: day 27:* initial metamorphosis complete. obtained devouring diadem and 5-linked inpulsa's broken heart (at less than 150 fusings!) can now run all 3 intended auras. functioning much more smoothly than before
*end initial test log_**___________________________________________*
*additional notes:*
*3/9/21:* i have not been keeping up with the records above due to a lack of meaningful progress. today, however, I made a great leap forward.
@@marksutherlandjr.2121 i can corroborate much of the statement above
I am definitely going to use one of your build guides. As a new player, adding the PoE trade links to get gear searches is VERY helpful in understanding the potential cost in the build. Thank you I know that took a lot of work to add.
Glad you found those helpful! I know the trade site can be confusing at times, especially with so many filter options sounding very similar. So I figured the trade links can be a great starting point and people can tweak or extrapolate from them and adapt to their current character needs and budget 👍
I like how the guide shows upfront how good the build is at, ex. X on HC. I mostly play HC so knowing if its viable for HC or not is a great knowing.
No point in not being upfront about this kind of stuff, it would only mislead people and I'm not in that kind of "business" 👍
@@NavandisGaming Very true, its an extremely satisfying ability :D
Coming back to update everyone:
Finally finished acts and started mapping. Play this!
Using this Build melts bosses when u got everything up
Man you are awesome! Very good at making guides and explaining everything! Already tried your Double Strike Champion and Tectonic Slam Chieftain. Both epic! Thanks for everything!
Was going to start bleed arrow build but I think with this man's godly persuasion, I will now be starting crackling Lance inquisitor lol

Wanted to do this build since heist started, was just waiting for Navandis God to upload 😎
Would love to see more videos from you dude!
I love your guides! Have you ever thought about a video on how to come up with custom builds? It would help a lot of people like me who want to try a little somthing of their own but not sure what number to aim for or how many different layers of defense.
Love the video. Thank for actually making a good build with crackling lance.
been waiting for a new video from ya! seems like an awesome build
It's definitely a more involved, hands-on type of build and the better you get at it, the more you'll get in return 💪
Lvl 81 in the build atm. Here's my experience with this CL Inquisitor:
- Campaign felt amazing 👏 Very smooth but by maps...
-I recommend dropping a decoy totem in Rituals so that you'll be able to stack up intensity stacks
GlHF~
Thank you for an amazing detailed guide
fuck yeah navandis upload
You know it! 😎
This is the best poe video guide i've watched in years, good job man. I'm gonna give it a try
is pretty good so far. i've been using it and have chronicled my experiences so far in a comment above, particularly with what to expect (from the perspective of a newish player). so far, so fun(ctional)
I hope you update this guide for the 3.13 patch, it's gonna be amazing :D
Yeah, looking at Inquisitor changes we lose a bit of cast speed and crit multi, but gain a shitton of crit chance, so DPS-wise it's more or les the same. However, during the reveal they specifically said CL will be buffed, so I'm quite positive the build will be even better in 3.13 😁
@@NavandisGaming Oh I'd love to see it perform even better, and the new ascendancy passives seem awesome, especially the new Inevitable Judgement, so stacking crit will make it go BOOM :D
Yo man you did it all, excellent video thank you!
my next build for sure.
Excellent video, I’ll have to make a Templar and give this a try
algor mortis gloves should be the best in slot gloves for this build ( 35% increased lightnign dmg taken from enemys in your chilled grounds-> frost shield)
Thanks for the guides :)
your builds are the best ♥️
Best POE Builds
but how can i fix my mana problem im lvl 72
Love your builds dudes, The visual looks stunning, Is there any skill effects used?
For the CL skill itself, none. Other than that, the char had these MTX on: Master Spellblade set, Sunrise Cloak, Spellblade char effect, Arcane Hollow + Synthesis crown head gear, Monolith + Betrayal Aura effects, Nightfall Cloud pets.
I'm not understanding how mana would be a good stat to get, as you say around 19:03. Wouldn't it be useless, as you have it all reserved? Maybe i'm not understanding the mechanic.
I feel like with the new inquisitor battlemage and fanatism will really push crackling lance trought the roof!
Thanks a lot for this great build guide once again
Inevitable Judgement doesn't do what most people think it does - ignoring resistances doesn't mean the target has no resistance, it means it has 0% resistance. It's a huge difference and the misunderstanding generally comes from forgetting about the concept of negative resistances, or the fact that there's no lower limit on resistances (which automatically means with Inevitable Judgement you would deal infinite damage if it worked as most players assume it does)
As such this passive is a net DPS loss if you have any means of reducing enemies resistances below 0% (exposure, curses) or as result of resistance penetration. As a reference, A8 Sirus has 50% elemental resistance, so it's actually really easy to bring even the toughest targets below 0%.
And even if you wouldn't bring a target's resistance all the way below 0%, the closer you get to that, the less valuable IJ becomes, to the point that Augury of Penitence overtakes it (without even taking into account the excellent defensive bonus it provides)
As for cluster jewels - they would bring minimal extra damage/utility for a big investment. Not worth it.
@@NavandisGaming Thank you so much for your in depth explanation :D
@@NavandisGaming Ah, I see. Thanks for clarifying!
Hey amazing build, but according to your PoB wich is insanely good how i'm supposed to run wrath / zealotry / FaS even with a level 4 enlighten ?
Hey guys, how would you change the passive tree if you wanted to include cluster jewels?
Are u gonna update the pob for 3.13? i'd love something like this as a starter for Ritual league.
He will if the 3.13 pobs are available
hey navadis , very nice video and build, i am doing it now and is brilliant for heist, atm i got holy flame totem as my secondary skills, have you thought of holy flame totem with flame wall?
(prices on console typically 3x or worse)
Using Arcane Cloak on console with my lvl 90 mana stacking fireball trickster, so that was some bias creeping in...
For tree, do you recommend any cluster jewels as alternatives?
A mediumm cluster jewel with 3 lighning node is insane (price 1 ex)
This league is literally sh*tting currency on everyone, so 1 EX is nothing. You will find 1 EX in Ritual shops every 30-40 maps or so, once you're actually going higher than T10 maps.
You also have Harvest to help you craft and "lightning" recipes are incredibly common there.
@Navandis Gamming can the crackling lance be changed into vaal arc with some gem modifications and keep everything else the same ?!
Hello , this seems like a great build would it be viable for 3.15 ?
I’m using it now I’m 3.15 and having a blast with it. Amazing at clearing rooms.
I have a two questions: first why not use orb of storm instead of storm brand? Seems like it would work better with the stationary play style and also would proc when using crack lance. Second question, shouldn't wave of conviction be linked to light to Phys gem? And I think a trigger wand would be better than cwdt
Also a conductivity on hit ring would free up a socket
I been playing his arc witch build on normal , say this and made me want to try the heist , only question is can I add a totem in this ?.
Questions about steelskin, with it being in the helm you can't cast it correct?
Is it good to spec into Eldritch Battery until you get the diadem? So that you can at least run Wrath + Zealotry (without flesh & stone) and not have mana issues. I'm lvl 70 so far and its going super smooth!
Hey thanks for the video this is awesome. I'm still a noob to poe and wondering which bandit I should help for this build in act II. Should I kill them all for the extra 2 passives?
@6:35 👍
@@NavandisGaming Thanks dude!
is there a way i could turn into into PURE bossing since i have a clearing characted. thanks.
E-shield
With the 3.13 update, is it a priority to focus on strength and intelligence?
@@NavandisGaming Thanks!
Howdy! I'm currently playing this build and I have a quick question. Is there an order of importance when it comes to upgrades? like, impulsa's or diadem first for instance. Also, would a 5 link impulsa's be ok or should I just save for a 6 link?
Diadem first, definitely, as it allows you to use an additional aura and solves all your mana problems.
@@NavandisGaming Thanks! I'll invest my chaos into that first then.
So there is one spell slot open. Worth running Vaal righteous fire for extra damage?
Yeah, it's a good option, it's just a pain in the butt to recover the life/ES cost. I generally don't bother with it but it can be a good buff button to press in tougher boss fights
And why does your build has skitterbot and ice golem?
Do I need devouring diadem to not worry about mana? I keep running into issues with it
DD really does solve all your mana issues and allows you to use it all up for auras, it's a really one of a kind item and a great upgrade to the build. Until then, use an Enduring eternal mana flask, it should keep you topped off without any issues
What do u think about taking Instruments of Zeal ?
The POB pastebin is not uup to date anymore :( I cant import it
It is up to date, your POB client likely isn't. Make sure you use the community fork POB, linked in the video description: github.com/PathOfBuildingCommunity/PathOfBuilding/releases
@@NavandisGaming Ohh the community fork did it! Thank you for the tip, I really enjoy your videos :)
Also, I am going to try this build
I like to know how can you use both Zealatory and Wrath, becos they both reserve 50%mana how do you use them. Pls help
Am building this build as of now
Devouring Diadem helmet - it's already explained in the guide.
League start my ass, this gear is like 20 exalted now.
So, a league starter = BiS gear in day 2-3? 😂
3:10 what skill is on hotkey T?
ill try it this, wish me luck (?)
how can i make this build i didn't found on poe forum :p i was playing 2 month ago
Can this be done as a totem build in anyway? Im in act 4 with it so far and I find it more useful than arc. I could be wrong of course lol
If not this build is just dead in the water :(
So how does the area thing work? I'm returning kinda forgot. While leveling been using wrath but when I have the 2 up I can't cast anything
@@NavandisGaming thanks I heard the helmet part I guess I just didn't catch the until then. Thanks for the guide
Hey, will this build still work as a league starter for 3.14 ultimatum or do any of the nerfs affect it ?
Just a minor change, due to Flesh and Stone's increased mana reservation we need to add an Enlighten support of level 2+ and link it with auras. I've updated the POB with this change
Why can't I use steelskin after socketing my helmet as shown in vid?
You might not have enough STR
@@NavandisGaming I do. I can use it in another slot but not helm
@@IPwnNewblets You shouldn't use it in the helm anyway, that's where your auras go, so they can benefit from the reduced mana reservation cost
@@NavandisGaming Thanks for the replies!
hey, i cant import that pastebin into the pob it pops up an error
nvm, its working now , only the web version of pob didnt worked.
how many bugget for this build?
POB import is not working due to unrecognized skill tree. I am on POB version 1.4.170. Anyone else having this issue?
You need to download community path of building (paste it there) and problem solved
You're using the wrong POB client; download the one listed in the video description: github.com/PathOfBuildingCommunity/PathOfBuilding/releases
@@NavandisGaming Worked thanks!
is there a version where 2h can be worth it ?
Does sigil of power even work with eldritch battery?
Only the initial buff, it won't gain any extra stages. Still very much worth it
how do i use wrath and zealotry like your video says if both of them take 50% mana? i dont have diadem
Ive been wondering the Same.. i used either one of the other so i still have 50% left to cast cl
you have to spec into the eldritch battery notable until you get the helmet.
Uh, this looks like it will not work well with the new inquisitor, probably a better ascendancy for it now?
Will be just fine, the DPS is more or less in the same place: lost a bit of cast speed and some crit multi but gained a shitton of crit chance. Pair that with the major CL buffs and you get a stronger build than in 3.13 😎
@@NavandisGaming what do you think about new Elementalist as an alternative to Inqui?
Is there anyway we can change anything to manage reflect/uber atziri
Temporarily use Yugul pantheon + one of these pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Sibyl%27s_Lament
@@NavandisGaming Thank you for fast reply! WIll consider starting this, so just wanted to know! (L)
Why is it suggested to keep Arcane Surge on lvl 1 during leveling?
High level Arcane Surge gem requires consuming much more mana to trigger the buff. Check the gem description
@@NavandisGaming Thanks, I had figured it out in the meantime - must have missed that line when I first read through it. Really enjoying the build thus far! Just went back to Wraeclast with Sin and up until now it has been a breeze.
this or zizarans cracklancew build? Major differences?
dont do zizarans build, feels clunky af
Do you think this build can be starter for 3.13 with the new changes to inquisitor?
Absolutely, CL got quite seriously buffed so the build actually ends up with more DPS than in 3.12. Apart from that not much changed, we still pick the same passives and ascendancy nodes 👍
Do you think it'd be possible to play it as a elementalist?
how to fix the mana problem?
Spec into Eldritch Battery until you can buy Devouring Diadem
SSF League starter viable?
Viable for 3.15 ?
Does this build still work in ultimatum ? Ascendacy are still the same ?
Yep, check out the most recent POB in the pinned comment/video description 👍
@@NavandisGaming ok thanks also does sigil of power work with eldritch battery cause i dont see the sigil fill up or something
@@Steelx17 The first stage will work, it won't gain extra stages however. Still, even so it's a pretty good damage buff for a single button press, so I feel it's worth it
Pious path is dead don't regen evergy shield what we do?
You probably missed the part where the same passive now causes life regen to also restore energy shield. And the build has close to 4-500 life regen, meaning we actually get double the ES restoration than previously 😉
@@NavandisGaming Oh thank bro
Is this still viable at 3.15?
Is it possible to play this build as an assasin?
i think yes
3.15 viable ? ty
Can this skill still be effective as a totem skill?
Unfortunately no, Intensity mechanic does not work with totems/mines/traps
@@NavandisGaming thank you for the clarification!
Why do you take Augury of Penitence over Inevitable Judgement? In my eyes the Crit Penetration seems better than the 16% increased ele damage
Oh, I didnt even consider that. Thanks for the quick answer!
