- Today, we're going to be taking a look at a possible deck profile for our hero, Yugi Muto if he had access to all the various cards and mechanics available today! Forgive some slight hiccups in the audio quality. I had to do some pickups after coming down with the plague.

This reminds me of funny story:
For those who don’t know, there was a “Live Duel” at the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship of 2016, where the dub VAs for Yugi and Kaiba had a scripted duel before the final matches of said Championship. As the duel progresses, Yugi actually uses Xyz Summoning to bring out Ebon Illusion Magician and Ebon High Magician. It’s super cool!
Not only that, but when you Xyz Summon Ebon Illusion Magician as Yami Yugi in *Duel Links* he has a legitimate voice line for the card.
Coming from someone who was almost killed in an by being hit by a car and the doctors almost turning off his breathing machine, it’s good for me to see a hobby being expanded like this

@@thechaimug well it’s quite simple, while I was in a coma, the doctor was not sure if I was going to survive and was left with the choice to either make it quick or give me a chance and he decided that I was just a young man and just needed time to heal, so he made what I think of as the difficult choice and gave me the time I needed
@@thechaimug It means I was badly injured after the accident and the machine was part of my life support system, that's the best I can think of since the brain damage gave me around 1% chance of survival and one of the Doctor's made the decision to give me a chance to heal.

Quite sad to not see the silent monsters considering how important they were to Yugi or Hidden Village of the Spellcasters considering his deck. In his side deck I would add in Chronicle Magician, Chronicle Sorceress, Tuning Magician, and Harmonizing Magician to reference those important cards and to show that he does respect and care very much for Kaiba.

One would argue this is a deck if Yugi in your timeline videos reincarnated as himself instead of Yuya and still had a fragment of Z-ARC within him just add Odd-Eyes to the deck.
Tbh you could do modern deck profiles for Jaden, Yuma, and Yusei in a way that references your timeline video since Starve Venom, Dark Rebellion, and Clear Wing can run in their decks

@@muzankibutsiju4290 For me, that applies to Judai Manga counterpart. He use a mix of Elemental Hero & Mask Hero especially those Fusion with overly easy requirement like 1 Elemental Hero + any monster with certain element so not using Super Poly is definitely no brainer. His go to combo will most definitely ZERO then Mask Change to Acid. But for Anime Judai, i think he will use Neos & Yubel more than other Elemental Hero so i think either only using 1 or none at all. Also, Neos got quite a lot of new cards this year if i'm not mistaken so it will be quite easier to make Neos Deck nowadays. You want more flexibility, Manga Judai. You want the iconic, Anime. You can mix those 2 but for me, Neos is hard to go with non Neos Deck.....

I am glad to see you’re still doing the deck profiles. The anime/archetype purist in me isn’t loving the pendulum magicians in the deck like this, but it would definitely make the deck stronger, so I don’t mind too much. Lol. I’d love to see a profile for Pegasus (with all the toon updates and reprints now)
I would add the Buster Whelps to aid in synchro summoning & extra deck lock down, just to REALLY stick it to Kaiba boy.

Yugi would play these. I look forward to more of these and I really look forward to one with Hassleburry with his Dinosaurs or something crazy with Kaito because they have new cards.

My only real suggestion is that the Buster Blader retrain doesn't work with the fusion, so the OG would have to suffice.
This one isn't nearly as much of a suggestion as the buster blader one, and while they do still make sense with the overall deck strategy, I feel like a lot of the cards brought in from other characters (specifically the pend magicians) just feel kinda weird in the deck - at least in the case of Double Iris, Purple Poison, White Wing, and Black Fang. I feel like they'd do better being replaced by other, less yuya-related, pendulums. As ludicrous as this may sound, I almost feel like the Endymion Pendulums might fit the deck better than those 4 specific magicians -- the other ones are fine, though. Heck, they even work with Spell Counters, which other cards in the deck also use. It's just those four specific dimension dragon magicians that kind of bug me. Aside from that, Great deck profile.
I'm just surprised the Magician Girls didn't show up, since this is a "Yugi Muto" deck and not necessarily a "Yami Yugi" deck. They fit really well with the Dark Magician deck (hence me mentioning this) due to them having attack disruption, summoning, attack boosting, graveyard recovery, and draw power. Although I could probably understand this if he's saving the "Magician Girl" archetype for Téa
@@MegaMew204 I still stand by my idea that the 4 endymion pendulums would be more fitting than the dimension dragon pendulums. Let's be real here, Yugi is the only one (in universe) who could possibly wield Endymion the Mighty Master of Magic to its fullest power.

I love your modern deck profiles since it shows what the new yugioh anime should be like and bringing new life to older decks and I really hope you'll continue the yugioh gx rewrite and do more rewrite and possibly a rewrite of any of the yugioh series but with an oc as the main character with a badass deck

Me too, it’s exclusively the types of decks I build. I’m even trying to make a format I call LARPing where each character has their own banned list with master duel rules and limits
In terms of opinion, I think this decklist could probably work in a more newbie-friendly campaign (you've described an intended playstyle for that in your other video) but I think it's kind of bloated and sounds like it assumes relaxed deck count limitations, at least to get everything in.
Of course that's more a limitation of the various sims and stuff, really.
Speaking from experience with my friends' and my system we use we mostly play at or close to 60, so that we can run the core "flavor" cards, and then pad it out with outs and things, since we do essentially have a sub-in for the Destiny Draw system from the GX Tag Force series. That may be worth consideration if you end up looking to make "tough" decks for GMs to play against players that aren't still totally busted.

2:45 No offense I have liked it so far but the card in the middle I certainly say that is a card that shouldn't be there as even with updates it still would be meaning Yugi is using a dark signer card.(or I would like a video explaining if/how the dark signer cards still exist as the dark signers as far as I know don't use their cards after not sure if they just didn't want to or those cards stopped existing)

19:26 outside of yugi not wanting to piss off the gods/forcing the gods to stay, not being able to run his deck due to his illegal extra deck(19/15 to not spoil too much for others not like yuma was better with what 20+ in his extra deck), and also the evil dark signer card which may or may not even exist then yeah I could see him running that deck
As mentioned in the comments yeah the side I would have put mahad, mana, hidden village, and the 4 cards extra for the extra deck
One and only issue I see is, using Slifer.
There was no support for that singular card and trying to use it would cause problems during duels.
I didn't keep count, but if the deck is over 40 with the card, removing it wouldn't hurt the deck at all.
Just a thought, and I congratulate you for making a cool idea for a anime/manga yugi deck using "modern" cards.

He'll definitely need to rely on the heart of the cards to draw a playable hand, but it does sound like a fitting deck.
I was really hoping to see the magician girls thrown in lol. They're some of my favorites of the "newer" magician support.
I wish there was some love for the silent magician and silent swordsman. They were some of my favorite monsters Yugi would use. They also are very important to his character. I also kinda wish there was room for the gadgets and magnet warriors, but that would be way to many cards. Also no Palladium cards, which I guess is more used by Atem, but this is clearly a mix of Yugi and Atem, at least to me.

You should've added the Destruction Sword monsters as the tuner monsters since they support Buster Blader and Yugi's deck.
I was a bit iffy on Yugi using Pendulum cards... But considering that his decks are made up of a lot of high level monsters... It's a good fix for the issue.

I can see this being Yugi's deck if he were reincarnated in Arc-V and had to carry one of Zarc's shard and dragon around. I would think Yugi normally would focus more on expanding his diverse and playing upgraded forms of his monsters (because nearly his entire deck's got a retrain or archetype of some description). Dark Magician and his various fusions would take center stage as DM would be the vehicle to go into any number of forms to suit the situation and gain the advantage. Since he wouldn't have the Eye of Timaeus but the dragon itself, he'd have to play the materials needed. Gaia, BLS, Dragons, Kuriboh, and of course some of the better Magician Girls.
Quick Question, What Cards would you use as a replacement for the Link Monsters if i wanted to use this deck in an Arc-V setting?

Very nice video.
I personally think the synchros are the most unfitting of this bunch of cards. The tuners are of the weakest and most awkward monsters of all, even in theme because they have little to nothing to do with Dark Magicians or Dark Spellcasters; the synchros as well, they're a bit of a stretch.
Fusions and Xyz are perfect though since not only did the magicians get a lot of support for those summoning methods, but also Black and Purple can be easily related to Dark Magicians.
Links and Rituals are iffy; aside from BLS, I don't think they're worth taking too much into consideration.
Pendulums are fine, as the scales of 1 and 8 are just enough for the level 6/7 Magician cards, but yeah so many level 4s swarming the field kinda need some extra Xyz and/or Links that might not fit with the theme; I give this a mid score.
The Excecutive Producer is also a good one since it received new support that can only ever be playable with the Heart of the Cards and Destiny Draws lmao.

Also I'd argue you could have made a separate deck profile for Yugi as this feels like an Atem centric one with only summoned skull and gandora connecting it to yugi
I was thinking about it and I realized that all the Dark Magician stuff was more the Pharoh's cards, not Yugi's. If he's grown up a bit and hasn't been basically possessed for a while, he'd probably had gone with a archetype more him, like maybe the magnet warriors or the gadgets?
His Deck was still Dark Magician and Magician Girl heavy in Dark Side of Dimensions
@@VaderTheWhite Yeah.. Kinda bugs me in that, too. He was branching off away from the DM stuff in his duel with the pharoh, right?
@@ryanpinkus1338 Yugi did that on purpose tho. He picked cards specifically to counter the pharaoh's deck because he knows what cards Atem would be using. Before the final duel, the two used the same deck which wouldn't really work when dueling with each other. I imagine after the final duel, Yugi would go back to using his same old deck rather than the deck he created just to defeat Atem. After all, that deck would really only be the most effective against the pharaoh's deck but not against anyone else given the context of how it was created. At least that is what I believe.

The Side deck can't actually fit Chaos Form inside as all 15 slots are taken by monsters instead

Cool yugi update, but for my build I won't use any of the pendulum magicians or any of the arc v cards. They fit yuya since there his cards, not yugi at all for me. I have modern yugi and atem decks on my channel

I think the only card that's no more than Reborn the monster is pot of greed. A card so powerful it lets you pull an extra card

Next ones will probably be Jaden, Yusei, Yuma, and Yuya before backtracking and doing Duel Monsters characters like Kaiba, Joey, Weevil, Rex, Mako, Mai, etc. Probably with some random, "I feel like doing Such & Such Deck, so I'm doing that now" sprinkled in.

That's actually what this vid started out as, but then I added the two Link monsters just to round out all the mechanics.
I don't see him or Atem using the Zarc Magician cards. Replace them four with the other 3 Skilled Magicians and Dark Magic Curtain for times that it'd be useful.

You forgot several possible monsters, it seems. In Dark Side of Dimensions, we see Yugi use the new Magician Girls and Palladium Oracles Mahad and Mana. Plus, the improved versions of Silent Swordsman and Silent Magician.

Honestly Yugi could easily play Dragoon without Joey as it doesn't need Red-eyes to be summoned out, just an effect dragon and Dark Magician. So Timeaus can work just as well.

@@epicnessoflegends This is true. The only reason you don't summon Dragoon is if you run Eternal Soul so Dark Magician the Dragon Knight is the better play. I play DM and even if Dragoon isn't in the top meta anymore, it's still a menace when it gets brought out. I can see Yugi keeping that particular tactical nuke in the side for when some villain absolutely needs to go down or he teams up with Joey.

The Executive Producer is the strongest card in Yugi deck!

Honestly, I would remove the Spellcaster Pendulum stuff. It's the only mechanic there are no Yugi retrains for that are extremely clear. Endymion and Mythical Beast are more likely because Yugi's fusions are technically Prophecy monsters, and Endymion uses spell counters and circles seen in the artwork of those monsters. I would add the Red-Eyes engine, Summoned Skull, Meteor Dragon, and Dark Magician have fusions with Red-Eyes. Red-Eyes appears in Yugi's deck multiple times.
Instead of Slifer, the related archetype of the Royal Flush, just two cards Queen's knight and Joker's knight to make an engine. Im fairly Convienced that Guardian Chimera is a retrain of Gazzelle king of Mythical Beast or something of that nature, it would be a simple include. Then Buster Welp's two forms as tuners in the deck.
I don't believe Yugi's deck to be a spellcaster deck. I think there is more evidence that its a D&D or Final Fantasy inspired deck.

That's mostly a very good Deck but it has one fatal flaw.
Too many continuous spells/traps. Which wouldn't be that big a deal in MR4, except where in MR5 now and pendulums also occupy spell and trap zones.
Which could lead to either frequent bricks or accidentally locking yourself out of spells and traps

Problem is Yugi can only use cards that have been released in all games. Magi Magi Magician Gal was never released anywhere else. It's a OCG exclusive card. So i doubt he would get to use it at all. It's a very powerful magician card and a generic rank 6 spellcaster that can xyz into the rank 7 easier. Yet i do feel like we need more support to help dark magician be the ultimate wizard.
Yugi would def have red eyes black dragoon in his extra deck, he doesnt even need to have red eyes in his main deck, that would be his big asspull to win tense duels

For such effects being,ON YOUR TURN,thats not worth it.
You might not like this and maybe your crafting a deck for a certain story. But I think this deck feels more like Yugi
