I just moved to Livingston Parish six months ago from California. Never had even been to Louisiana! Culture shock for sure, but I do enjoy the change.
Oh wow! Lol I have a client that moved down to BR from Cali as well. They’ve been enjoying it so far! Especially the affordability! Lol

We also dig the affordability...and the regional cuisine...and that there are beaches within a few hours' drive!

Cons - Schools for young families , price of food and bugs are huge cons.

How much would you advise a young adult to have accrued before moving? I’m considering moving from Shreveport and have about $15-16k saved in total.
Honestly that’s not a bad amount to have on your move! If you’re renting, consider it could cost 4,000 to move in for a 2k per month house (2k for first months rent, 2k for deposit)
@@shawngeerealtor Is there a reputable hotel you'd recommend if I travel there for 2-3 days in a few weeks? I'm 22 and have never traveled alone so far- I plan of hitting all the political/tourist attractions like State Capitol/Old State Capitol.

Is baton rouge a MAGA city?
Baton Rouge is pretty diverse with its political leanings. The surrounding cities generally lean right but the city of BR usually leans left
Wow, Baton Rouge has been my 2nd home for decades...it has its issues no doubt but I still like it here!
