Saw these guys open for Iron Maiden in New York City a few years back. Never heard them before that night but was thoroughly impressed with their live performance of songs I never heard before. Extremely talented.
Same. Saw them in 2017 open for Iron Maiden in San Antonio, TX. Became a big fan of Ghost ever since
I really liked that song Maddy. I've never listened to that group. I agree with you that it had an 80's feel to it, although the video may have had a little more symbolism and was a little more raw with the blood. I enjoyed it just the same, and I really enjoy your reactions. Thanks! ☺☺
This is the song that initiated me into Ghost. Down the rabbit hole I went and have never come out. I'm 62 now and even got my 1st tattoo. A Grucifix. It's the best damn rock band in quite a while. This is from their 4th album. Impera, their 5th is a masterpiece. All headed by Tobias Forge who is lead singer.....it's his project. They have lore and a cinematic 2 1/2 hr movie coming out this June 20th and 22nd. It is something. Die hard fan for the last year and a half. Tobias is a different character on each album and sings through a full silicone prosthetic mask.

Danse Macabre (macobb) The Dance of Death.
During the Black Plague of the 14th century there was a slow stately ritualistic procession led by death, and with death on everyones doorstep a desire to cut loose for one last time.
But it wasn't a party. More of a maudlin gathering. That's why the guy answering the door didn't understand what they meant by party. The girls coming down the stairs were wearing death masks. Look closely when they dance, it's morbid, not cheerful. In the end of the video the lady in white is Sister Imperitor and she's creating Papa Emeritus..the singer for Ghost.
It should be noted...no Hollywood actors were harmed in the making of this video. They weren't even represented here. 😂

Yeah, this one can be A LOT to the unfamiliar. This is the 'prequel' for two of the fictional characters in the band. It's disturbing at first glance, but absurd and comedic when you know the full story
I just love the idea behind it, because the two characters are not the characters like they are in the lore, but how the singer (in this album Cardinal Copia) imagines it was, when they met. The depth it creates in their dynamic is awesome.

You're very close, it's pronounced mah-cahb' (accent on the second syllable) - the same sound as in corn 'COB'. The '...re' in 'macabre' is silent.
Ghost is a story band, and this video is part of the band's long narrative. This party is the creation of Papa Nihil and Sister Emeritus. Every Ghost song is about Satan. "I wanna bewitch you all night..."
