Aaron so good, he knows his chemistry, he knows his fragrances, he knows sooo much about fragrance composition. I can listen to him breakdown fragrances all day. Thank you.
Thank you for putting into words about Aaron . I smiled because none of these would be his choice. I am old but found my Shangri-La of perfume . Enjoy your journey. One day like me . Your find the one ted
This is Aaron thank you guys for the kind words
For a chemist, he says âsmells of chemicalsâ quite alarmingly
I love when it's Aaron Terence time
Aaron's growing himself a cracking looking Barnet there, always great videos when you guys work together. Always really interesting and honest reviews you should make it a regular series âđœđđœ
I wish Fragmental did a "Which is your personal favourite of the five?" so we could see which Aaron liked the most before he saw the bottles. But, I guess, judging from his reaction it was Profumo and Bleu De Chanel EDP
Aaron have a video, something like âHall of fame fragrancesâ, it intersects quite a bit
@@johanwillfred6139 Thanks bro I'll check it out!
Always a pleasure to see you guys together!
Guys, always love it when the 2 of you do a video. Iâm in my 40s, and would definitely love to know what are your top 5 menâs fragrance for men in their 40-50s. Many thanks
This duo always amazing, fragmental provides really good quality review (cinematic video, creativity, professional in delivering message, and also good humour).. Aaron is the best perfumer in youtube (knowledge, chemical breakdown, very objective analysis).
Love you guys â€â€â€â€â€
I am always so impressed with Aaron, this man knows his stuff and he describes everything perfectly where you just understand and say âyup! Thatâs exactly what I thoughtâ without being able to describe it.
Great review , bleu de chanel is my fav of that selection . I agree with Aaron they are aimed at younger guys not necessarily men of my age group .
I had to clock when I seen I have everyone in the thumb-nail. Good list. I really like the fact these aren't all the ones being over hyped.
Your videos with Mr. Aaron have been utterly enjoyable. I would love to see you both go fragrance shopping as a video. Both personalities out in a real world setting would be fun to watch as well as seeing what you each pick.
Good idea!
I like that idea too.
Me too Aaron is cool
As always, lovely to see you together regardless of the topic.
Thanks Chris and Aaron. đđ»
Best video on straps I've seen! I own a Seiko 5 Sports Suits with a black dial and a Milanese strap and I like the look đ
Great video like always!
Amazing to see Aaron ⊠He is a fine perfumer . I followed his journey for a year . Itâs been Amazing journey to fine a Shangri-La of perfumes ..
I always enjoy Aaron's rating in your channel. Thanks Chris!!
Great top 5! Surprisingly not one niche fragrance, but of course you don't have to. To my loss I have to say that I only have one of the top 5! Great video! đđđ» I should always have Rosendo Mateu nr.5 in my top fragrances!
Enjoy it when Aaron is on⊠Cheers, Chris! Aaron!
Please do an old school classics review - like Fahrenheit /Kouros/ Joop - that would be so interesting to learn what you guys think about them! Scentgrail had a good top 10 with these on ;) Thanks guys đ
To my nose, Terre d'hermes EDT is by far the best frag out of that top 5. Timeless, fresh, clean, signature, all seasons, masculine, now unique as less people wear it, masterpiece! â€ïž
to me it smells like southern French workers feet
@@attk177 lol u crazy :D
Smells like Windex
But it does NOT last!
â@@attk177 Oddly specific
I love this even though I've only watched about 30 seconds!
Would love to see the best unisex fragrances with aaron :)
That was gen x dropping knowledge
I'm glad my 1st timeless love Profumo and 2nd newer love BdC are on the list.
Great video and profumo still get me compliments
Iâve been using Tom Fords Noir Extreme EDP as a base and then layering Givenchy Gentlemanâs reserve Privee on top and itâs so nice.
Aqua di gio profumo is hard to find nowadays. I like it because like they said it's good for any occasion. I own bleu de chanel edp and savauge edp and love them both just a bit expensive. So for the price when you could find it, Aqua di gio profumo is great.
Demachy is my favorite perfumer .
Since his departure from Dior , Iâm really worried.
Ăâm buying back up bottles from the house left and right.
I obviously wouldn't say All Time as it hasn't been around as long but Homme from ATH, is a lovely Iris/Orris fragrance. Aaron has done an amazing job with Homme. Nice Creamy Iris scent.
Is it anything like the Dior homme lineup? I love the scent of iris/orris and iâve been meaning to get something from his brand
@@PapiAndrey it did remind me a lot of Intense/parfum.. but my nose tends to ignore certain notes and amplify others after getting the âickâ a couple years back.
â@@kez850 That lasted about 6 months with me, but the head fog has lasted more than a year. Very strange.
Chris Chris CHRIS! for a change I am not going to comment on perfumes but ask you a question - where did you get that shirt from!!! One beautiful piece of clothing!! I am going to be searching for this one on shops now. Thanks for all the valuable pointers and remarks on fragrances over all these years.
its called batik mate
My fav from Dior is definitely Tobacolor. its awesome.
Funny that the smell of lipstick is the most popular smell for men
Soy boys.
Although its scientifically proven women like a more feminine smell on men so theres that.
Indeed, I must be of the very few that totally hates it.
I smelt it in a shop and it smelt like taking a deep sniff inside a woman's handbag. Don't blind buy this!
@@paulwarrington1966women love it tho
Itâs not the most popular though? Sauvage probably outsells DHI probably, what? 50 to 1? 100 to 1? 200 to 1? 500 to 1?
DHI is just a fragcomm darling. Out in the real world, your average man isnât buying make up smelling fragrances
I'm happy it's in my collection it's amazing.
I didn't initially love hermes but quickly changed my mind. I dig it, smells great and isn't what everyone else is wearing, imo. Cheers
Polo Green from the 80âs and early 90âs. One of the greatest for sure.
I can listen to Aaron all day
The best and only Egoiste for winter
The second live Jazz for summer
Good point Aaron makes at 7:00
Never knew these were rated top 5 of all time : Iâm a collector and have all of these except for Hermes . Iâve also had it and never liked something about it ! I lean more towards warm ambery frangrences my self .
I'd love to see Aaron's thoughts on Terre D'Hermes Pure Parfum. Like him, I didn't care much for the EDT as it was too sharp & screechy for my tastes. But I imme knew the Parfum was what I was waiting to smell. It took what I loved about the DNA and smoothed everything out.
Such an amazing version, I agree!
I 100% agree. I much prefer the Parfum. It's so good.
The best of all time is Hermes bel ami the shaker bottle or vintage kouros,The best modern perfumes are Frederic malle promise, interlude man,and jubilation
Would LOVE to know what he thinks of Alexandria fragrances!
I remember Aaron saying that Dior's ROSE Ălixir PrĂ©cieux was the fragrance that made him want to become a perfumer, which was also by Demachy.
i can remember trying the rose elixir in dior boutique, WOW!
A list is obviously subject to criticism. I would say this is a very good one. Love Dior Homme intense and Terre dâHermes.
How long to it last
I say I'm still a beginner in the frag game but i know BDC EDP is my forever favorite. It's addicting and uplifting to me :)
Was the first fragrance I bought. My mom had come back from getting something at Ulta & the cashier offered her a sample of bdc edp which she gave to me. It was that good I actually wanted a bottle. After getting into fragrances & smelling the whole store I can still say bdc edp is excellent & I'm glad it's my first buy.
@@evsspecialeditionbarbie thatâs cool man! For me itâs been backwards , Iâve smelled pretty much the usual scents you get recommended by reviewers and so far thereâs absolutely nothing that has been able to top it for me. I been on the search for something that could but I havenât found it yet lol
I really like hearing that ATH is becoming interested in light versatile scents that can be worn in a Spanish climate and perhaps moving away just from the obnoxious heavy-handed screamers; seems like he's growing a bit more sophisticated in his perfumery in understanding the power and difficulty in subtlety. Also seems like he's interested in MFK who is a master of that art. Makes me really excited for his next line of releases.
Why Spanish climate? Isn't he in Mexico
@@marielang9474 No idea, I'm just referring to the proximity of Spain to the UK where he lives, and that it's a common travel destination for great hot weather that he doesn't experience and wear fragrance in otherwise
Profumo is my favorite of the other lineup? Chanel de blue is a close second
I never got used to Profumo. Really tried it but didn't find what I was looking for.
Cool water, eternity, grey flannel
I love ATH Legend however it doesnât last that long on my skin only like 4 hours and on clothes like 6-7 hours please make this last longer, Aaron you the best greetings from Baja California mexicođ€đ»
Which version are you using, though? The 2021 version I agree, could have performed slightly better, but the 2022 and 2023 versions seem to be better.
Aaron! I just put three people on to his line! They purchased hard candy, ozone and homme đ. Need a new customer service rep, I gotcha đđ. Great video Frag.
Great job!
*There are hundreds of wonderful men's fragrances that are not featured on "FRAGRANTICA". I'm in an older age bracket 35 - 50+ and we would add more intense niche fragrances. All ATH fragrances are awesome - also; Joop, Issey Miyake, D'orange Vert Concentre - Hermes, Papillon - Spell 125, Herod - Parfums de Marly, Frederic Malle - French Lover, Halfeti Cedar - Penhaligon's, Jean Paul Gautier - Le Male*
Profumo is a great scent! I get compliments and it lasts all day! A fresh and masculine fragrance!
didnt the discontinue it
@@amarg7657yeah but you can still pick it up
@@beenheem7590 technically yeah you can pick it , itâs actually my favorite summer scent so sad itâs discontinued
@@amarg7657 people have been saying that for years⊠itâs still available on a few sites. my bottle I just got was made late 2022
@@diljoe9678 what sites do you use if u donât mind me asking I canât find it on the main site maybe discounters?
Phenomenal performance ATH.
I just picked up JPG, Le Male, Le Parfum. I'm quite fussy and that smelt the best out of many to me.
Le Parfum is in my top 3 ever . I love that stuff and I never get olfactory fatigue either .
You guys are a great odd pair! Aaron is the artistic spiritual shaman and youre the sharp and eloquent go getter.
Was he trying to say Givency Gentlemen Reserve Privee when he said the tobacco color one? I had a chance to but it at Sephora but passed due to not wanted to blind buy. Really curious though because it is compared to Dior Homme Intense which is my favorite at the moment.
I think he was talking about Tobacolor from Dior's private collection but I could be wrong. Reserve Privee is a good fragrance for sure but it doesn't perform on me at all which is a shame.
For me it's (order could be debated) Oud Wood, AdG, Kouros, BdC EDP and FougĂšre Royal. Not only because of their smell but the impact they've had on the fragrance industry.
I LOVE the King Louis XIV Of France shirt. King đ
Aaronâs shirt holding its dear life
terre d'hermes - Eau Givree, the new one is awesome
Iâm first ! đđđ Great video as always !
Can you do a vid comparing DHI to valentino uomo intense? They smell very similar to me
I have all of these, except for Dior Parfum. Best IMO is TDH, but I'm in the "gentlemen" age category. Sublime. I'd replace both Diors w/ Dior Homme 2020 and PDM Layton.
Hello Chris. Do you do the voiceovers for Jet 2?
Aaron is a genius. These are the best collaborations on you tube
Is there any unisex dupe for Dior Homme Intense? I am dying for this fragrance, but don't dare to wear it cause I am female.
I like the fact that Aaron really likes Profumo . My wife really likes that on me .
Enjoyable videos!
Good to hear Aaron call Iso E Super "spikey". That's exactly the effect it has on me and not a good one. I am a perfume novice but can now spot it in Fragrances when it is in high quantity certainly. It ruins Terre D'Hermes and Lalique Encre Noire for me and I also spot it in Rochas Moustache EDP I think and Proraso Cypress and Vetiver
I understand Fahrenheit has it in spades. I love the note on its owm, and I love Fahrenheit. But very many fragrances have it, even women's ones.
@@raulsaavedra709 thanks. I haven't tried Fahrenheit. Yes as you say it's very common. Amd I realise most people are fine with it but there are a few of us who aren't. I wish fragrances would list it as an ingredient. They list, and in some cases have restriction on many natural compounds but not on that. The ones I mentioned like Terre D'Hermes and Encre Noire supposedly have it in incredibly high quantities, which may be why I noticed it. Whether I notice it when in lower quantities I don't know
@@jonstern7511 Best way to check that you are noticing the right thing is to smell just that. So try to check Eccentric Molecules Molecule 01, which is just Iso-E Super. Else you can buy the chemical online for not much, e.g. 20 ml concentrate for less than âŹ10. I have bought it and mixed it with natural ethanol to create my own DIY "Only Iso E Super" fragrance, ends up quite cheaper than Molecule 01
@@raulsaavedra709 I'm pretty sure I am as I smell it first and then look up the fragrance and see - in the case of Terre D'Hermes and Lalique Encre Noire at least - that they don't just have it in but have it in in very high quantities. But yes you are correct. It would be good to try the actual thing and I will do if I find the Essentric molecules in a shop with a tester (I'm certainly not going to pay money to do so to get something I don't like)
@@jonstern7511 Suggested that because both Terre de Hermes and Encre Noire have strong vetiver notes, and maybe it's something about vetiver giving you that spiky sense, possibly not iso E super itself? Iso E Super is woody and very inoffensive in general, a soft smell of pencil shavings, some people can't even sense it. However vetiver is known to be challenging for many people. Vetivers actually, since there are several kinds.
I'd love to have seen Balenciaga Pour Homme in the top 5 of all time, but I'm guessing most Fragrantica voters have never smelled it. Great to see your and Aaron's take on these!
Aaron has mad skills...
not sure who is voting Dior Homme intense. Is it nice? Yes. But all I pick up after the dry down is iris. A girl smelt it on me and said it smells like chalk
Homme intense with its pear highlights is so damn good
ATH. My favorite videos.
I had Profumo, I just couldn't get into it at all, I think Profondo is better and have gotten more compliments from the ladies. To each their own.
Dior intense for men, the best and number one ever all time with no challenge.
That Parfum is delicious, too!
I love the fact that ATH wants nothing to do with Fragantica, popular doesn't equal good, is actually great having a professional opinion to make that clear
Iâm curious about his feelings for fragrantica ?
Carbon is a good fragrance to make other perfumes more lasting.
Iâm gonna treat myself to ATH Homme. It will be my first niche fragrance
Itâs a beaut!
Great point there near the end guys. This really appears to be a list composed by guys in their 20 -30's probably towards the beginning of a fragrance journey who have likely bought stuff based on Top 10 CZcams vids & hype. It doesn't strike me as a list of any great depth or experience for an 'ALL TIME' list IMO
Agreed
Agreed also
ATHâs Hard Candy is top 5. Wish they shipped to JapanâŠ. đą
Do a classic list guys.
Is this a list of best perfumes or best sold? How about including spectacular niche fragrances?
Tobacolor is the most underrated fragrance of the last period. Only Aaron pointed out how amazing it is
I love dior homme parfumâŠ.but man is it hard to wear, itâs very polarizing. Itâs actually very animalistic the more you wear it and the more your nose becomes accustomed to the iris.
I think we'll all interested to see what FK does next with Dior!! đ”âđ«
Fingers crossed đ€đ»
I'm glad Hermes Terre de Hermes was there. I always thought in was one of the best designer frags of the past 15 years.
Aaron is like âplease, no more of these blind testsâ đ
Dior Homme Intense đ„đ„
There's just something about classic Parisian fragrances that the fragcomm goes crazy over
Aaron the goat
Forbidden is a good one
Awesome đđ
Hi sir I am surajit from india place give me your sajesion wich 5 perfume I blind buy Givenchy gentleman reserve privee, d&g tha one ,spice bomb extreme, valayntino umo,Paco 1milion
I'm honestly not a fan of the dior fragrances here. Too heavy on the iris for my liking. I do love he mentioned Tobacolor, however. One of my favorites
Can you guys make a video for men in there 40ties?
Seems as tho Easter is around the corner could I suggest a hunt for the best chocolate fragrance of all time. Think you might actually smash this one, in the style of an Easter egg hunt đ
