To be fair, it's really incredibly how well Koji Fox understands the social implications behind swearing, how that is important to make a world feel alive, how using religion for swearing makes it more impactful even in real life... it's such an intuitive understanding of sociology and it really helps to build a world.

1.0's dev cycle was lengthy and painful, while I'd be surprised if anything other than the base game of WoW had more than 1 year of lead time between start of development and release.
