- French Drain and Sump Pump can correct pool liner problems. Pool Liner pops off. This is common problem. Water gets behind or between the liner and the wall. This is usually caused from excessive water in the ground under the pool deck.
To solve the problem, we install french drain DEEP. The pipe and gravel need to be at deep enough to collect the water from under the pool.
Sometimes we use a sump pump to lift the water up and pump it away.
Good DIY for homeowner. Lots of labor but you can save a great deal if you do it yourself.

Thanks for posting, should I perforate the sump basin?
Surprised you did not use a linear catch basin across that whole perimeter for the surface water. I see you are back working in clay dirt. Thanks for always posting your work
I don't get it, does he mean pool cover? Pool liner as in vinyl? Wouldn't that be over cement? Or is it over dirt? The only liners I see are over old pools that cost to much to re surface.
@@meh9682 He is talking about the actual liner for the entire pool. Ground water separates it from the pool walls. Yes it is vinyl.
Does the code allow a pump to be installed just beyond the 5' pull edge? I have a customer with the pool liner issue and wants to put a permanent sump system in. He wants an outlet in the pit (gfci protected) so he doesn't see the pump. Is this legal?
What should I do if liner does same but with no hills. Just a high water table?
Nice video, but you don't explain how you power the sump pump. Where does it get the electricity from, etc.

I just bought a house and my pool has a sump pump.. should I leave this running all the time?
Yes. It is always best to keep your sump pit water as low as possible. If water sits around your pool all the time you are asking for trouble eventually. Especially in the winter if the ground freezes.
