My parents split up when I was 7 and I had to take 2 city buses and walk a mile to get to school everyday from 2nd grade on at the height of the crack era on south side of Jamaica Queens. We literally walked over crack viles with the different color tops in the school yard everyday. 15 years later I was getting drafted by the Jets fulfilling a childhood dream back home.
