This is purely and deeply spiritual. If you listened to it more than once you will find out you have goosebumps because beat and sound of this song are solely for the gods not humans. I believe Asake was sent from the metaphysical realm to deliver a message to some selected spiritualists on earth.

But why is everyone leaving out Magic sticks for producing such a masterpiece!!!
Though biography says Asake is from Lagos but this is more of an Ondo/Ekiti style of music from the Yoruba land in Nigeria.
This is really a deliberate genre choice to prove to some doubters that he has only one style of doing music. I love the bravery to drop this as a single and not on an album!!! I see no reason why this guy is not worthy of a Grammy awards or BET at least. He is representing the culture proud 💪

So from Lagos, Ondo - Senegal, Mauritius, Bahia (Brazil) and Cuba and back to Lagos (where the returnee free slaves brought back the rhythm to Lagos, so our music have been fused together and a man like Asake who not oblivious to the music in his environment can't ever go wrong.

Great reaction Brothers. My reading is that he is projecting the contrast between the pressures and pains of the black human and our simultaneous quest for peace.
Even when the black human wants to be alone, there is just so much ish going on trying to mess with our yoga (yoga being a metonymy for peace, not just the ritual). I love this song because it speaks to the deep inner healing work that still needs to take place with us black people. But we are too distracted and endlessly disrupted, poisoned by toxic competitive energies rather than comradery spirit of co-operation. My personal project and prayer is that we can build those spaces in our various communities in Africa and the Diaspora where black people can heal enough for us to reclaim our dignity in this wild wild world.

    Verse 1
Enemies I get them too much
It's better to get them surplus
Who go dey for you no go take off (meaning the people that truly love you will not run away in any situation)
Hmm hmm oju tele gan (Oju tele gan) {meaning those undermining me have been put to shame)

What can fa? (Meaning what can prompt insult)
    What can fa?
Keep distance if you wan come whine me (meaning keep your distance if you want to be dubious)
Ma lo fa (meaning don't start what you can't handle)
Ma lo far (meaning I will go far)
I still balance, I still galant
